Drew, the reason you were attacked by all of the Arabian nations after you attacked Somalia is because current world alliances exist in game AKA NATO exists & the Arab league exist. You can't make your own alliance but if you look on the diplomacy map mode you can see where an alliance is

You are playing the default mode which is when everyone is wanting to expand. You can play a custom game and change how the ai acts and you can make it more realistic. Rebellions and civil wars are off by default. PLEASE TURN IT ON IT MAKES IT SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING.

Why does this game says that the world's 4th largest army (yes really, North Korea has the world's 4th largest army) and a nuclear power is actually the world's 89th military power? Don't get me wrong, since the US would defend South Korea, North Korea would get destroyed if it attacked any of its neighbors but it's still no pushover as far as their military goes.
Because the legitimacy and quality of their army is highly questionable

Technology and equipment-wise, it is severely lacking, and in order to present that in Dummy Nation, where a military technology doesn’t even exist, you just have to decrease the personnel size

Seriously, what the hell are you talking about here, they developed a functional nuclear program with missiles that can hit the US. That already puts them above 95% of nations on Earth by itself as far as military technology and equipment goes.
And the US gad a functional nuclear programme with missiles that could hit Russia all the way back in the 50s. I wouldn't really call them being apparently able to do the same thing very advanced
