Usually I think that (we) Yankee fans are a classy bunch, next to Cubs fans. But throwing sh*t at an opposing player was clearly a d*ck move. That's why I don't go to any live games in person, because of sh*t like that.
The yankee fans were wrong, but it was also wrong for the guardians players to go up and engage with the crowd during the game. If your a baseball player you are a professional and you should be able to take some words from the crowd. You can't engage with the drunk idiots, it literally just adds fuel to the fire.

I've been a die hard Yankee fan since 1987, and in all the games I've ever attended whether MLB or minor leagues, I have never thrown anything on the field, I have never cursed out a player or fellow fan, never taunted opposing players and never even thought about hopping onto the field. Most of us are like that. Just people that are actual fans. The people being jerks are just that, jerks. They are jerks at work, at home, in life. Them being a Yankee fan is as significant a factor as them having or not having freckles.
This is why I will never be a Yankees fan. Horrible fan base, trashy stadium, And overall a bad place to be to watch a baseball game. I’m a cardinals fan and we got 300 dollar seats to watch a game and the lady wouldn’t let us to our seats and said our tickets were fake just cause we were cardinals fans. Then when the cardinals won a Yankees fan poured beer on me and my sister from the upper deck. We were 8 at the time.

MLB and players union should agree on a rule that would punish a team if an opposing team player is struck by an object thrown from the stands, regardless of home or visitor. Perhaps an automatic out? Carried to the next game if it occurs in the 9th inning? Sure could speed up games at Yankee stadium!

MLB and players union should agree on a rule that would punish a team if an opposing team player is struck by an object thrown from the stands, regardless of home or visitor. Perhaps an automatic out? Carried to the next game if it occurs in the 9th inning? Sure could speed up games at Yankee stadium!

I completely and wholeheartedly disagree with fans throwing trash at players. I am a Yankees fan and this is unacceptable. However, Straw the outfielder for the Cleavland Indians (Guardians a stupid name) was seen climbing the wall and confronting fans before the trash was thrown. That is also unacceptable. This will never justify the trash being thrown, but it’s important to know both sides of the story.
So defending your teammates means you should get stuff thrown at you

As a long-time #Yankees fan... This is one of the most problematic fan(s) behaviors in the stadium with a #Yankees fan base. The crowd involved pivoted into authentic repulsive Euro Soccer fans... The #Yankees should do something with those that applied. And BAN them, If they are season ticket holders, everything is on Tape. In baseball, it's OK for fans to scream boo!!! to the other team but to throw trash, and water bottles, etc... Trashy patrons throwing trash on the field... being observed by our Youths...
