it’s really refreshing to hear you say sleeving is unnecessary tbh. there’s a lot of talk on trade instagram that sleeving in your binders is Essential and not doing so will damage your cards, but it feels a little wasteful to me. so it’s good to hear someone who’s been collecting for ages basically say it’s okay to not do it :’)

i normally don’t like organizing videos but for some reason this is so calming yet entertaining to me!! i really love Katie’s voice, and her commentary is usually really interesting to hear
honestly sleeving isn't a necessity, as long as you have PVC and acid free 9 pockets your cards should be fine. I mostly sleeve mine because I got tired of them shifting around and sometimes even falling out whenever I moved a binder lol. it's a preference and not a must, no one should be made feel about about not doing it 😬
I honestly thinking sleeving is just wasteful it’s just plastic over plastic.

Same i put sleeves because they keep sliding whenever i move a page.
Sleeving wasn't a big thing around 5 years ago since everyone was using 9 pocket Ultra Pro/BCW pages and those are all PVC and Acid free. Discoloration does happen especially to matte white cards but it's a natural process since these are paper goods. It'll happen eventually, you can just take as much preventive measures to delay it.
I feel like people started making it a big deal because the pages that come with the A5 binders aren't always guaranteed to be PVC/Acid Free so people thought that it was a "must". Everyone is free to choose if they want to sleeve their cards or not. I personally sleeve my cards because they don't move in the binder and it just adds an extra layer of protection if ever my binders get water damaged. The sleeves are called deck protectors anyway, they're supposed to protect your deck of cards while playing. No one is shuffling their photocards and putting them on playmats.

I personally really like double sleeving my cards because they stay firmly at the center of the 9 pocket page slot lol, but it isn't really all that necessary tbh. As long as the pages are PVC free the photocards are good :)

ppl really need to stop telling other people how to store their own collections. it's rude and kinda pushy tbh. for me personally i sleeve my rare/expensive cards + my ult bias/ collections- but i can't afford to spend the money to sleeve the rest. and honestly if you buy the correct pages then you don't even need to double sleeve at all.
You know your collection more than anyone, and you also know what's best for them. Really enjoyed your unboxing and storing photocards video, I recently saw your tweet about you not enjoying it anymore. Please take a break if you're having a hard time, but please remember you don't have to please all the strangers in the internet. As long as you enjoy it, do it. It's your collection anyways 💚

fun fact: ive watched videos of pokemon collectors who graded their pokemon cards from 20+ years ago and got a psa 10 (perfect card) with the same set up as you (binder, 9 pocket pages, and no sleeves).

i only sleeve my photocards bc i did from the beginning of collecting so i didn’t have to buy a lot at once, also i just personally like the aesthetic of them and how clean and whole it makes it look together, oh and it makes them move around less but obviously no one HAS to ! it’s YOUR collection !

I personally love sleeving my cards it just makes me feel like they're safer specially since some of my first pcs are a bit damaged, but i cannot afford dragon shield sleeves which are the ones i prefer so I've started using cheaper, thinner sleeves and although it makes me worry a little sometimes you gotta work with what you can :')

Sleeving is just an extra measure to protect the photocards in case of being not careful (like me) and scratching them, but if you are careful enough and dont move them all the time, keeping them in a binder w/o sleeves is fine as well. *Btw love your storing photocards video it’s just so satisfying!!*

Sleeving your pcs in your binder isn't a requirement. Like yes I sleeve my pcs but some prefer not to sleeve & I'm fine with that. Also I love the amount of Sunwoo in the thumbnail

Omg I love your collections so muchhhh!! I've been an EXO-L since 2013 and have most of their albums but I didn't start collecting seriously until literally a month ago, so I'm only collecting my ult for now (Baekie) and I kick myself mentally for not doing this sooner, because it is really overwhelming now to find some of his pcs and they go for SO MUCH MONEY. Even when buying the albums I think I pulled him about 5 or 6 times? Yeah, not lucky at all haha. I really admire your beautiful beautiful collection! Ever since I got into BTS (5/6 years ago I think) I told myself not to get into buying collectives. Now I stan too many groups to count and have been on a binge of looking for albums to buy.
I personally sleeve my cards, it makes me feel more safe about them and they fit better into the pocket pages but I understand that you don't see it as necessary

my friends and I have worked out a theory (could be completely wrong but hear me out) if you pre-order something from SMG it takes AGES to ship and we think that's cause they see that you pre-ordered so you're okay with waiting longer. if you order something after it's official release date it seems to ship a lot faster. I have had to email customer service every time I pre-order something to get my items shipped (which usually happens within in days of me contacting) so you might want to try contacting to get your stuff or they may never send it out.
sleeving is 100% personal preference; I like having that extra layer of protection and I don't think sleeves are that expensive, you can get packs of 100 for like $0.50 on korean/japanese/chinese sites - I joined a group order for some and got like 300 or 400 sleeves for $1.50 so it's not that big of a financial hit unless you're buying from expensive sites. photocards can be quite the investment so I want to have all the protection I can get 😂

ive had my cards sleeved from the beginning and some cards i cant sleeve. so my most beautiful moment of life pt2 jungkook has gotten a little discoloured on the back and that one has been sleeved from the beginning and then i also have my wings yoongi that i cant sleeve and it also discoulered but then the other photocrads from those albums seem fine. i just hate white backs

I sleeve my cards cuz i hate that they move if you have quality 9 pocket pages its not necessary. My collection consists of 2 groups and its already an expense. I cant imagine how much it would cost to sleeve your whole collection 💀

not gonna lie it makes me sad to see how nct 127 got really fucked over by sm's album design team compared to nct dream :( i mean don't get me wrong the sticker concept was superior probably my fav concept done by them bc they all looked amazing but idk why sm was super lazy w the design of the backs of the pcs like just plain green for all the freaking versions.... while dream got super cute designs for each ver and they all looked different even the jewel case pcs :((( even exo, rv and shinee got diffrent designs for their backs i just wish sm stopped begin lazy w 127 and gave them some proper album desgins bc last time they had cute designs were in cherry bomb era..

@@leilazoric664 the members dont participate in the album desgin sm has a whole team of people that do that and sometimes they allow the artist to help them when its for their solos. i mean the album design team themselves should stop begin lazy and do some cute designs for the backs. like imagine if the sticker ver were all personalized like their postcards, seoul city ver could have city lights and buldings, and sticker ver could have been the cute backdrop they used for the sticker mv w the neon lights and hearts like they could do so much w the concept it makes me so annoyed >O
