In my opinion, one of the greatest of modern paintings.

Why does this get all the glory when his pink studio is infinitely more beautiful?

I try to be purposeful. Sometimes when I didn’t have a composition I painted trees on top of each other to look like a forest well there are no mistakes because the painting will just come out when we don’t intend it to.

Perhaps we don’t yet have the eyes to truly “see” this work, it remains so far ahead of its (and this) time.

The one guy Pablo could never get ahead of. No matter how much he stole and turned into tarts, Henri was always free, fresh and steps ahead.

I believe Pablo once said " After all, there is only Matisse ".

As much as I love red, I have to wonder at his choice to drown his studio in it this way. It does create visual interest, but is there a link between red and any sentiments he may have about his studio? Overall, I get the sense that this was something he did to experiment and/or relax.

Perfect explanation of the painting and of Matisse philosophy. I thought that a perfect explanation probably would not be possible unless given by the artist himself BUt i was wrong. It Is perfect video and explained
