What helps me with my social anxiety is putting myself in their shoes. So if I’m doing something that I think might be annoying, I think about if I would be annoyed if my friend did the same thing. And the answer is usually no. We tend to hold ourselves to a higher standard than we do our friends, and we need to remember that they’re probably doing the same thing

I love all of what you had to say! Especially the alcohol thing at the end. Listen, as an addict who had to come off heroin during my pregnancy in order to protect both my life and my baby’s life (4.5 years sober today! And she turned out perfectly healthy thank god, thanks to my suboxone and rehab program I still follow) low amounts of alcohol while breastfeeding is fine. Plus alcohol leaves your system so quickly anyways, if you’re drinking in the evening, often by the time you wake up in the morning to feed the baby, usually your blood alcohol content is 0%. People are so judgmental for no reason. I never got to breastfeed except for my baby girl’s very first feeding, it hurt sooo bad and gave me wicked bad contractions lmao, but I was so new to my recovery at the time she was born so I chose to go with the bottle. Being a new mom and new to recovery was really scary and hard, my husband and I were both newly sober, I got pregnant less than 3 months after meeting him but thank god it all worked out for the best. We have a great relationship now and a beautiful amazing healthy sassy little one! Now I’m in a mom’s group for moms in recovery, most of us are at least 3 years into our recovery journey and it has helped me so much having moms who actually understand the struggles, since “normal” moms really don’t and aren’t relatable to us. I’m so grateful for my daughter because if I never got pregnant I don’t know if I would’ve survived this long. She’s the reason I got through my addiction and work so hard to fight for my recovery and my family! Anyways you’re an amazing mom Jessi I love you ❤

As a mom to twins, I appreciate your breastfeeding comments…I have people (men) in my life who have the audacity to comment on mom things (potty training, breastfeeding, etc.) and they know nothing about being with child or much less raising a child. My girls were not getting wasted off of me having a single glass of champagne on Christmas…unreal how harshly we are judged and then when people say “well you knew what you were signing up for!” Ridiculous.

Hi Hi--I'm a certified lactation counselor and can confirm--if you're sober enough to hold your baby, you're sober enough to feed your baby. Most breastmilk will be less than 0.05% alcohol after mom is feelin' pretty tipsy, and most fruit juices usually have somewhere between 0,05%-0,07% alcohol and people love giving their kids apple juice.

Video Idea: Mundane Tasks.
My favorite videos on TH-cam are videos in which the youtuber just chills/talks to the camera while doing ordinary stuff. You could be cooking and just talk about life/plans/your recipe. You could be packing away clothes after shopping and talking about the clothes you just bought. As a mom, finding time to do extravagant, planned videos is practically impossible but just talking while f-ing around is perfect.
I’d love to have a weekly Fortnite session! Where you just record yourself playing and maybe get a group of subscribers together to play and upload that weekly or even livestream it.
