Native People - Hidden in Plain Sight
We are allowing you into our secret hidden world. Each video gives you little hints of how we live. We are members of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape. Customs and celebrations have been passed down through many generations. We will remember, each generation that passes leaves markers and teachings through the birth of the new generations.
We have remained in our homeland and have been here for over 10,000 years, right here in New Jersey.
We have discovered how to survive, to be "our people" and/or authorities on South Jersey Indigenous. The promises we made to our elders many years ago are being honored with each generation.
Please Subscribe for more about our hidden in plain sight culture. We truly hope that you enjoy all the posts. Vic and Ty

How does one acquire the turtle shells? Are the turtles already deceased or are they killed for the purpose of using their shells? Thank you.

I bought it at a pow wow, nothing is ever killed just for art, we use everything the Creator gives, we pick them up deceased and give thanks for the gift. That is why we never mass produce our art, it is one of a kind, special, and cherished. We see the beautiful reusefullness in all creations, sacred symbiosis with nature.

I made the leather pouch first, so that opens inside the turtle shell

Sorry, it's hard to make something on camera of this magnitude. I was disappointed as well, lol.
