If you put on work gloves you may be able to put a little more force on the broken clip with out hurting your hands. Without seeing the broken housing in person it is hard to know how it can be taken off properly. If you are able to I would buy a new housing cover and replace the broken one. When removing the broken cover it may brake more and not go back on. So having a back up would be helpful.

How do I get to the air filter if the clips are broken. Whoever changed it last time broke the 2 clips completely off. I’ve tried everything
