    So you didnt show the additional installation of where the tubes go. If I am to understand correctly, the inlet tube connects to the pump submerged underwater, while the outlet tube feeds somewhere above the pond to flow back in?

      @thepondguy  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello - You will Connect the plumbing coming from your pump into the inlet indicated on the filter. Then, connect plumbing that will return the water to your pond or waterfall into the outlet indicated on the filter and secure with a hose clamp.

    I just ordered this set up and now realize two important things; first, you have to buy the tubing which usually comes in a 25 foot roll and will cost about forty bucks at Lowes. lf you need longer tubing expect to pay for a 50 foot roll. Second, apparently the filter unit cannot get wet. That means you either have to buy the fake rock covering which in my opinion is not very attractive or come up with some other kind of covering, whatever that might be. Don't understand why a pond filter can't get wet when it is obvious that it will be used outside.

      Hello Duke - We have tubing in various lengths available. To order tubing, please visit us at www.thepondguy.com or contact us at (866)766-3435. Additionally, the reason we do not recommend this unit getting wet repeatedly is due to the electrical components. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns!

      @@thepondguy So you have a unit that has water go all through it where the electrical components are, but can't have water on the outside of it?

    • @thepondguy
      @thepondguy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ronvavra The water does not pass over/through the electrical components, as they have o-rings to keep the unit tightly sealed. While there are o-rings on the top portion of the unit to also keep water out, we do not recommend getting this unit wet repeatedly. It is water-resistant and can get a small amount of splashing on it.

    I'm trying to clean the filter and I realize I don't have a discharge hose. I bought the kit, but was I supposed to have purchased that separately?

    • @thepondguy
      @thepondguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Juliet - The tubing is sold separately. If you have extra tubing from the install, we recommend using that!

    Thid filter looks exactly like the Pontec pondopress. I have been told to fit the pipe from the pump to the filter outlet to clean the filter. Do you have any thoughts on that, thanks

    • @thepondguy
      @thepondguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To back-flush the SimplyClear, simply run the discharge tubing to a location away from your pond.

    How often do I need to replace the pond water with this filter in place? Also, can I use other branded pumps with this filter? Thanks.

    • @thepondguy
      @thepondguy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Dennis - We recommend a full pond clean out at least once a year. Yes, other brand pumps can be used with this filter.

      It is recommended to cover the SimplyClear to keep the ballast for the UV light dry as this is an electrical element.

    If removed during the winter, will my small back-yard pond Cichlids get enough oxygen?

    • @thepondguy
      @thepondguy  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      During the winter you will want to install a de-icer in conjunction with your aeration system. This will maintain a hole in the ice to allow toxic gasses to vent out, while providing the much needed oxygen for your fish.

    Is the pump in-pond, and if so, does it have an in-pond pre-filter? Or is the pump inside the SimplyClear Filter? And can it be used with pumps from other manufacturers?

    • @thepondguy
      @thepondguy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello - The pump is submerged within the pond and has a pre-filter cage. This filter can be used with pumps from other manufacturers, as long as they do not exceed the maximum flow rate of 1,250 gallons per hour.

    • @33uptempo
      @33uptempo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for replying. It's been my experience that a "cage" used as a pre-filter clogs up pretty fast without some additional filter medium. Am I doing something wrong?@@thepondguy

    • @thepondguy
      @thepondguy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@33uptempo The Pond Guy SolidFlo Pump that is paired with the SimplyClear Pressurized Filter is a solid handling pump. There is no need to have additional filter media, as the filter already has it.

    Hi, I’m planning to build a pond very soon, and I want to buy this filter. I’m a little confused on what device to use to intake the water and take it to the filter. In other words, how is the dirty water going to be transported to the filter?

    • @thepondguy
