What is the minimun height required to fit under a stand that would not cause the hoses to put any stress on their valve connections? I read amazon says 21" tall, but i dont beieve that includes vavles/hoses. Thank you. I ask due to others stating same question on the 1000 model.
I have a 55 gallon and use a marine land canister recommended for 100 gallons seems like every year I buy a new one and there around 130 $ would you recommend the penn
Soldier Gamer I would. I have 2 cascade 1200s on my 125 gallon turtle tank. I also run a sunsun 302 & a 304B. But my pennplax are definitely better and do a very nice job.
Panagiotis F 2-3 times a years depending upon waste, filter flow consistency, and nitrates if testable. Do keep in mind i generally 2 or more filters on each tank over 100 gallons...
Hay just clarifying does the cascade filter flow from the top to the bottom? Filling up my trays with my own media and trying to figure out the right order
Just curious, how long have you had your filter. I've had mine for almost 14 years I think, and the motor just started acting up, and when I unplugged it, the filter started leaking from the latches. I'm so sad, this filter was quiet and reliable, granted it was slightly too big for under our tank stand, but we had the cleaning process down to a science. I understand they aren't really making them anymore. I didn't want to order online, because I hear most of the time they get cracked during shipping. Best of luck.
If I can't get one tomorrow that I like I'll give it a shot. Thanks. It's a sorry situation, we did get it up and running but the motor started making a really loud noise, so I unplugged it and when I plugged it back in it started leaking again. But there had been a low tide odor for a month now so it hasn't been working right for a while. Thanks again.
yankee hope Thanks for the question. Basically at that age it is pretty much done, cause most the cost to replace rubber seal and other components can be about what it cost to replace it entirely. Hope this helps you and you can always message me on FB @ facebook.com/jgrimesaqua

No carbon?
I only run carbon in my canisters if something is really off...no need unless your water is cloudy or has a smell you want to remove IMO
Not with a red tail .... carbon is only needed to remove meds from the water ...
Small tank for that monster red tail ....
Holy fuckin catfish
