Great timing on your review Dan, I just saw this in a store next to its A95L sibling, and I was surprised how good it is. The A95L still has the edge but this gets close. One negative however, is that I'm a Freesat viewer and Sony TVs have very patchy support for it, and with this new 2024 model you'd have to get an external box like a Manhattan, or just get Sky Q/Sky Stream if you're happy paying for it.
@@TROW-163 Sony = Quality built in, they don't use cheap compnents as some other manufacturers do. I've still got a sony TV in my bedroom, a 42 inch, from 10 years ago. Unfortunately due to built in memory etc, and apps getting removed by Sony along with no further updates coming for a now outdated TV it's time for a new one. Sound and picture quality are still great, but these new smart TV's have everything I need, so no need for additional boxes etc
Is it just me or does the Bravia 8 seem dark and blue? Saw one at the store. Thought the reflection handling was poor. But maybe it was just the set up at the store that was hurting it.
You are correct. Out of the box, it really pushes blue. Has to be calibrated. Dimmer than s90d since Samsung in 55, 65, and 77 is using QD OLED panel, and also LG C4 seems brighter however they all trade blows. B8 uses same chip as their flagship OLED A95L making it excellent for watching movies and upscaling content, something C4 and especially S90d are lacking. For me personally, Sony makes good quality product and are reliable. With that said, no matter what tv you buy you should always consider extended warranty unless you are paying less than a$1000. I ended up getting G4 65” and it gets really bright thanks to MLA coating and uses their latest chip, excellent tv. For the bedroom I am considering Bravia 8 as I don’t need tv to be too bright. Hope this helps.
Excellent review Dan but a bit too complicated a TV for an octogenarian, I'm afraid but that's the way things are going. I'm still not keen on these OLED pictures tbh.
Hi nick, I think you'd get your head around it fairly quickly also I think if saw one of these in a store on standard picture mode not vivid you'd be quite impressed

If a 4K Sony TV dares to enter my 1080p Samsung TV domain, it will face swift retribution. just got mine last week and i think its phenomenal 😊❤️
Got mine about 3 weeks ago just amazing tv coming from plasma zt 60

Thank you, this was really useful and helpful. 🤩
What is the size ob Box? Try to take it with my Car.😅
excellent video
How does this sound when the TV is calibrated?
What's with the sudden changes in brightness and clicking sounds between 21:50 and 22:00? Also, can you do a comparison with a comparable TV?
Any burnin issue???
Superbe présentation ! 👍👍👍

When it comes to freesat or aerial tv sony has the best sdr upscaling ever✌️
I like Sony TVs, but one problem they’re just too expensive

Is it backlit remote?
Does the ethernet speed increased in 2024 models? It was 100mbps
Surely that's to do with your Broadband supplier not the TV?
@@nickhickson8738no its not. 2023 tvs like sony, samsung and lg uses 100mbps ethernet input.

I think camera, the tv can go really bright. I do my best to represent it as I see it but it's always best to see one in person
