  • ANAHEIM: On 04-12-21 at approximately 12:23pm, Anaheim firefighters responded to a reported structure fire in the 2100 block of E Sycamore Street. Units arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing. A third alarm response was requested. Units quickly began attacking the fire. There was reports that there was a possibly trapped victim. Firefighters were not able to make entry into the home due to heavy pack rat conditions that were chest level high. Due to the heavy fire involvement, firefighters got off the roof and went into a defensive posture. Soon after the roof collapsed. It took firefighters over an hour to extinguish the fire. There is no information on any found victims. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

    Looks like hoarders were living there. Look at that!! Boxes right up to the door while the cars stay out in the sun and weather.

    I was there when it occurred and talked to the owner. Devastating. He thinks it maybe been started by a space heater. Totally “hoarding” conditions of the worst kind!

      Damn space heaters should be banned. The only safer ones are the oil filled radiators. Needed the foam to finally get that one out . My prayers for the owner.

    What are the little red bags hanging from the rear of the firefighter’s turnout gear?

    • @Bluebear909
      @Bluebear909 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Those look like mini rope bags. Those are used when entering a dwelling or building as a guide to get out or to locate in case of emergency. For complete darkness scenarios.

    • @gregfromtheoc
      @gregfromtheoc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are called drop bags and they contain 100 feet of rope. In addition to using the rope as guides, as described above by Joshua, the bag can be dropped to the ground from roofs with the rope playing out of the bag on the way down. Then, personnel on the ground can tie equipment or hose lines onto the rope to be pulled back up to the crews above.
