You all are such gracious people. I’m pretty sure that those of us who send you cards and gifts don’t send them to have our name and city sung out on a video, but to see your reactions when you open them and get giddy, or excited. I think most of us have such a good time watching glimpses of your life, that when we see something that reminds us of you, or something in our lives that we think would make your lives easier, or better, we want to send them to you- not for our benefit, but for yours. Thank YOU for allowing us in.
Lisa, could not have expressed it better if i had tried. I just enjoy having a peak into a life that i can't have. Started out on a farm and have missed my animals. Please tell MC happy birthday. Think it was the 28th? That was also my 53rd anniversary.
? ¿¿¿ Potatoe/potahto, tomatoe/tomahto, heroferd/Hereford, Cherolay/Charolais - but the real question is how do you say Worstershire????????????🤷🏼♀️🤣🤪
When you build the aviary, put a small storage house on the end of it for your supplies. I grew up in California and my dad raised Red Finches in an aviary in the back ground. He built the aviary and added the storage house afterwards. So he walked through the storage house (small) closed the door then had another door for into the aviary to feed, catch, or clean the aviary. That way the birds were always penned in and wouldn’t be able to fly away. We loved the aviary.
Yes !!! My friends bird "escaped" 2 years ago because she thought it was ok to open the door(patio) to water her plants while her birds were loose. It only takes 1 second. Funny thing is I saw it first hand at Lowes in the garden section yesterday. I opened the the automatic door and a bird flew IN ! (They were living their best life with a squirrel eating all the bird seed ! )
Whoever thought Mildred is too formal for that sweet baby cow, must have had a grandma named Mildred or something. I think of it more of an old fashioned name. It’s better than naming her Rachel or Gertrude. Moody and Mildred are just so perfect!
My mommy's name was Mildred and she was nicknamed Millie, so I like either. Mom's other nickname was Mick, but that name was reserved for myfather. Kinda neat.
Ya'll are just living your best life and raising Mary Carl in a healthy, happy and loving environment. You are all blessed to be in a position to spend so much time together as a family. Love you all.
Hi Jason, Hereford is a city in England and we pronounce it He-re-ford, there is also a town in Texas of the same name and they pronounce it Hur-ford hope this helps. We also pronounce Charolais differently ie: Sha-ro lay sending love and hugs from Nottingham England xx
I appreciate the humor and attention to detail on the videos, but the appeal for me is that you all are so real. You are like genuine friends. I also like that you treat the animals like family.
There will always be someone who pronounces things different then Google. The fact that you researched the pronunciations is awesome. I really love your channels.
Agreed...stop worrying!. You started this video stuff so you can enjoy life and your farm. You do so much more than anyone else I watch. A couple times a week videos and/or podcasts are plenty. We will enjoy no matter. You are a great family and living so many of our dreams. Thank you for sharing 🥰
I agree 100% , I lost my 4 legged best friend 3 years ago and I will never use his name for another of my pets again. I love you guys and all your sweet animals!
I totally understand and agree. I could never call another animal the same name as the one i lost. It just seems to heartbreaking. Each animal needs their own individual names. And I like Mildred 👍
Regarding the freemartin heifer, they are sterile but can be injured if a bull attempts to breed them. This is due to the abnormal anatomy of the freemartin. I learned this watching (I believe it was a Dr. Pol episode) quite awhile ago. I think he was treating a heifer for an injury and realized it was a freemartin. The farmer had no clue.
The freemartin is a female that is born as a twin with a male and is sterile as a result of being exposed to masculinizing hormones leading to under development of the female's reproductive tract.
I thought it was so great of you to take Mildred and give her a great home .And Moody also he's such a love muffin. Glad y'all had a great Christmas and Mary Carl had a great Birthday 🎂. Happy New Year 🎉🤗 See you next year 😀
Great blog! Thank you for the laughter! I wouldn’t let the”cow” people get you… you can pronounce the names of the cows as you like. When you have a heard of 500 or more cows, then you can do the same! Love from the mountain top in middle Tennessee, where the hilltops kiss the sky, Fran
I am off for Christmas vacation and I've been watching some of your early TH-cam recipe videos. I loved seeing Mary Carl carrying her chicken around and especially her with no front teeth! You have so many memories on TH-cam.
The card credits was wonderful but I think a verbal thank you is sufficient especially since in the future you will probably get more. Love you videos.
I'm happy you shared the backstory on Mildred's name. I completely understand why you wouldn't want to call Mildred Millie. Moose... That was my favorite Uncle's nick name. I hope that the Cog Hill 40 has a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. Until next time
Happy New Years to the most precious homestead family on TH-cam or Facebook. You are the two everyone is trying to emulate! Happy Happy New Year🥳 . Something tells me 2022 is going to be a banner year for you guys. I can’t wait😘😘😘
You two precious people have absolutely maxed me out on my internal jogging for the evening. In layman’s terms - I’ve laughed my self happy. Thank you for you. Hope you have a wonderful! New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day!! Hugs and best wishes 💕 rae (pronounced Ray 😉)- over here in TN.
When you fence that back for the cows, best string an electric wire too. When they get out of just a regular fence, and they will, it’s a rough thing to round them back up. Love that the animals are multiplying. 😊
Another great one Jason and Brooke❤️ I could sit and listen to y’all all day, hahahahaha The two of you make me laugh 😂 Thank you and I’m so glad I found y’all❣️Happy New Year Cog Hill 40 family!!!
Brooke, you say you are not patient, but I've never seen you loose it, so you are more patient than you ever give yourself! I've noticed and enjoyed the music and highlights you've added to the end of your videos. The course has improved your recent productions! KUDOS.
I vote for the outside videos! It’s so hard to find an hour plus to sit and listen to the podcasts. The animal videos seem to be shorter and love seeing the critters💕 and also what you all are up to.
I was watching the podcast and didn't realize I was talking out loud to you guys. I was pronouncing the cow breeds. My husband came through and told me you couldn't hear me, because you had headphones on.😂 😂😂
You are appreciated with all the time you put into your filming, in my personal opinion yourselves,I'M A SURVIVOR SANCTURY and Trent and Alli put in the most effort in your videos, I've gone through all who I follow and have deleted roughness as I thought I need to only follow those who deserve it.🥰😘
I love your videos because they aren't bad acting jobs -- you are just REAL! No costumes (well except for the dance videos which I do love), no scripts, just real life and I love that about your channel.
You guys have me laughing so hard. Just call them cows, is what I say! Love Mildred and Oh My if you get all those animals it's really going to be busy there and fun to watch. Happy New Year to all at the Cog 40.
Then your "friends" (They know you to be such softies when it comes to finding homes for the orphans) should be paying boarding fees towards the feed consumed by the critters they offload onto Cog Hill 40. The odd Nugget, Peaches, Moody and Mildred - okay but beyond them your gentle natures are being abused!!
Brooke you and Jason are good honest people and then there is MaryCarl who I feel a very smart and intelligent young lady. Your welcome in my home anytime. Happy New Year to you all. Take care from South Western Ontario. 🇨🇦
Jason, you are so VERY APPRECIATED!! Your overall patience, easy going attitude about everything you research, and animal gestures, and just everything you do with a big, genuine smile on your face is so heartwarming to all of us. We love it and you! Thank you for YOU!!
I am SO HAPPY - this podcast is over an hour!!! Love you and your Family!!! Jason is meticulous and does a very PROFESSIONAL JOB at editing your videos!! Now I understand why you named Mildred with the name Mildred! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! can't wait for the next video. LOVE Y'ALL!
You’re right Brooke the editing & cuts are so noticeable with Jason’s videos compared to others - that’s why they are very interesting to watch- thank you Jason!
Happy. New. Year. Cog Hill Family. It makes my heart jump with joy seeing you live your dreams. Little. Mildred is precious. Brings back warm memories to this 79 yr. Old grandma from S.E. Tex. Yes vedios are so much better to look back on and yes takes a lot of work and time to do.. Your vedios are awesome. I always ck to see if you have posted a new one.
So glad you’re all right I know the storm went through the area just glad that you got missed and none of my friends have been hit by anything thank goodness and pray for those that have
In Canada we say Her-ford and Shar-lay. That's what we were told they were called at university in the agricultural department. My inlaws raised Herefords.
I've always taken note of the artistic approach Jason takes in creating the videos. Thank you for putting in all that work. It does not go unnoticed; especially by those of us who "dabble" in AV arts.
You had Cherolet and Hereford pronunciation correct as per Google. I live in the UK and Hereford is a City and a County here and it is pronounced as you first said it from Google. Dont listen to those other peeps. Great program folks from England. xx
Your brisket story is so very similar to my son's "how I smoked my first brisket story." He got his Traeger about a year ago. He loves to share his method. His ribs are amazing, too :)
Mary Carl is so sweet and time flies by so fast and she’s not a little girl that was quiet but so smart and sweet. Her love for birds is what really pulled me to y’all’s channel. Jason is a good family man and the relationship you share is a lot like ours. My husband make sure I have whatever I need before he goes to watch his favorite movies down stairs. That grill is good ohhhh the smell of a good smoked brisket.
I have issues with my neck, wake up with headaches frequently. My husband has ruptured disk, up high, between his shoulder blades. Discovered My Pillow pillows, haven't woke with a headache since, either of us. Yes, your pillow has a LOT to do with it 😁
I can tell Jason does a excellent job of editing cause it shows in the videos. Oh my goodness, the brisket story is hilarious; I usually cook a brisket six hours at a lower temperature then finish it @ 350 wrapped in foil for one - two hours. I am glad to hear that Mildred is getting comfortable and playful. Happy New Year 2022 to Jason, brooke Mary Call & Nana
You two are a welcome laugh on an aggregative evening. On the name game, Just show me a picture so I can learn to tell them apart, 😂. Can I put a yes vote to bring Panda to the 40' ? Happy new year to everyone 🎉 May 2022 to a blessing and bring joy to the family.
We have 4 straight days of heavy rain in Los Angeles County! And it's cold! Record snow in our Mountains! We need it, but don't know how to deal with it! Great to see you and Happy New Year 😊
Of all the channels I'm subscribed to, you guys are my #1 favorite. You have the whole package, especially with Tucker, Peaches, and, of course, Moody. Thanks so much for PERFECT content!!!!!!!
JMO...Jason BLESS YOUR HEART on listing those names, but y'all, you work SOOOO much, we don't need personalized recognition like that...while it's sweet and very much appreciated, a general acknowledgment is sufficient. We love what you share with us, and take joy in your accomplishments. In a nutshell, we love y'all for what you so generously share with us and don't want to cause you any additional stress, anxiety or work.
I notice the effort! You all put out the best content, variety of content and ease of content. Jason's editing is spot on! Happy New year to you stay safe and be blessed!
Y'all are so Funny and Charming, I just Love Your Podcast!!! You're saying it Absolutely Correct!! Thank You for the Fun on each podcast!!! Moody's ball is Awesome!!!
That pronunciation thing cracks me up!! We're in North Texas and have a street near us named Houston. Every time we use gps from the house somewhere that we take Houston Street, the navigation ALWAYS pronounces it like How stun. Every time I did at the gps saying it's Houston you crazy thing! 😄😂🤣
Beef is pretty expensive in the UK. Brisket, because it's a tougher cut of meat is cheaper, but it's extremely tasty. I usually boil it in a slow cooker with salt, black pepper, and a beef stock cube. I serve it with big potatoes baked whole in their skin, cut in half when cooked and smothered with generous blobs of butter and seasoning goes well with it. I also serve it with string, green beans. The juice the beef is cooked in, makes lovely gravy.....
Happy NewYear Jason, Brooke, Mary Carl, and Grandma: May God keep you all safe and healthy and Blessed above and beyond you wildest dreams. Happy Belated Birthday Mary Carl.😘 Hugs and Love from Grammie Suzie ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Brooke - Pillow height is extremely important to your neck. When on your back, your spine should be in a straight line-head not up too high or too low. Same when on your side. If someone looks at you from behind, your spine should be in a straight line as well. The pillow can’t be too thick or too thin. Pillows wear out sooner than we expect. Replace them as needed. Sleeping on your stomach is to be avoided at all costs. I am a physical therapist and provided this info to patients on a daily basis. It really helps.
The word for Jason's editing is "SEAMLESS"! Chad gave MC a shout out on his video for her birthday and mentioned her Instagram channel and to check it out! If there ever was a channel that is so humble and appreciative of every little thing that comes their way it is your family and channel!
You all are such gracious people. I like my chickens but would love to have a pair of miniature donkeys and a pair of miniature dwarf goats.
? ¿¿¿ Potatoe/potahto, tomatoe/tomahto, heroferd/Hereford, Cherolay/Charolais - but the real question is how do you say Worstershire????????????🤷🏼♀️🤣🤪
We also had brisket for Christmas daughters frost time too was very good ❤️😘♥️
I agree with you Lisa Lee!

I think of it more of an old fashioned name. It’s better than naming her Rachel or Gertrude. Moody and Mildred are just so perfect!
How do you like Milly? So it flows better?
I like Mildred! That was my mother's name. Garden Answer has a cat named Russell. That was my dad's name.❤️
I prefer Millie
My mommy's name was Mildred and she was nicknamed Millie, so I like either. Mom's other nickname was Mick, but that name was reserved for myfather. Kinda neat.
I like Mildred. If they had opted for suggestions though I was going to say Pearl due to her pretty color.
Ya'll are just living your best life and raising Mary Carl in a healthy, happy and loving environment. You are all blessed to be in a position to spend so much time together as a family. Love you all.
I think that the name “Mildred” is adorable❤️. You don’t have to justify the names you pick 👍
I pronounce it heff-furd…..phoenetically…..
@@larisajeffrey2312 lol
I was watching this thinking "y'all gonna be upsetting the Uk folks" pronounced He-re-ford here too. For cows and place.
Jason and Brooke ya"ll are so funny. Mildred is a beautiful name , call her what you want.
I appreciate the humor and attention to detail on the videos, but the appeal for me is that you all are so real. You are like genuine friends. I also like that you treat the animals like family.
Agree!
Happy New Year to Jason, Brooke, MaryCarl, Momma, and all the feathered, furry, and possibly finned friends all on the Coghill 40!
And momma!
Don't worry about it. Everyone knows you appreciated all the cards. It is Christmas. Good wishes to all.
Jason, your editing is pretty much seamless.Bravo to you!!
You put out fine Vlogs.
Our daughter had a tree planted out west in memory of our dog that past last December! We thought that was so special! 🦮🤗💕
You are legit wholesome folks. I really enjoy “visiting” with your family and farm. Family first, is rare in today’s world.
You are an awesome person Jason you did a great job on the gift opening video.
Happy New !! This dreay, rainy day become so much brighter just listening to your podcast!
I agree 100% , I lost my 4 legged best friend 3 years ago and I will never use his name for another of my pets again. I love you guys and all your sweet animals!

LOL i have learned more about animals from Dr. POL. SO INTERESTING!
I thought it was so great of you to take Mildred and give her a great home .And Moody also he's such a love muffin. Glad y'all had a great Christmas and Mary Carl had a great Birthday 🎂. Happy New Year 🎉🤗 See you next year 😀
Brooke I have noticed AND previously commented on the brilliant quality of Cog Hill videos 👏👏 The Love is visible 💜
Everytime I watch you,I smile..Again thank-you for inviting me in.A privilege.
Great blog! Thank you for the laughter! I wouldn’t let the”cow” people get you… you can pronounce the names of the cows as you like. When you have a heard of 500 or more cows, then you can do the same! Love from the mountain top in middle Tennessee, where the hilltops kiss the sky, Fran
If you were to talk for more hours, I would listen. I really enjoy anything you put out. Your family, animals and farm are wonderful.
I am off for Christmas vacation and I've been watching some of your early TH-cam recipe videos. I loved seeing Mary Carl carrying her chicken around and especially her with no front teeth! You have so many memories on TH-cam.
Whenever you give us your time we will be ready to listen. Love both your channels.
Mildred is a wonderful name for that beautiful baby. Love to y'all 💚🌱
Mildred is so adorable, so lucky to have you both!!
Until next time
Yay!!!! Panda might be a new Cog Hill baby. Thank you for the smiles ☺️
Happy New Years to the most precious homestead family on TH-cam or Facebook. You are the two everyone is trying to emulate! Happy Happy New Year🥳 . Something tells me 2022 is going to be a banner year for you guys. I can’t wait😘😘😘
I truly think you two are adorable. I’m thinking we are going to see you with lots more bigger animals. Lol. And, you love each one!
We, in the Midwest, LOVE Mildred and Moody. 💝
Happy Blessed New Year! So soothing to listen to BOTH OF YOU speaking... Didn't seem over and hour.👍🏼👑🍾🥂
Happy New Years Jason, Brooke, Mary Carl, and all the animals
You two precious people have absolutely maxed me out on my internal jogging for the evening. In layman’s terms - I’ve laughed my self happy. Thank you for you. Hope you have a wonderful! New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day!! Hugs and best wishes 💕 rae (pronounced Ray 😉)- over here in TN.
I love yalls channel because you never put any upsetting (pets dying, etc) videos. It's so uplifting and enjoyable. Love y'all from Mississippi.
When you fence that back for the cows, best string an electric wire too. When they get out of just a regular fence, and they will, it’s a rough thing to round them back up. Love that the animals are multiplying. 😊
The hats at the beginning on you two were adorable!
Another great one Jason and Brooke❤️ I could sit and listen to y’all all day, hahahahaha The two of you make me laugh 😂 Thank you and I’m so glad I found y’all❣️Happy New Year Cog Hill 40 family!!!
Y'all are so precious! YES! You got the cattle breed names DOWN! Have a wonderful New Years Day. Love and blessings, Texas Deb 😁💕

Thank you for making 2021 better.
I was worried for the Smith family after hearing of bad weather.
Me too 😥
Brooke, you say you are not patient, but I've never seen you loose it, so you are more patient than you ever give yourself!
That’s why we made 2 different channels….the main one and this podcast one 👍👍👍👍
I don't watch the podcasts... I listen to them when driving, doing dishes, etc. And I appreciate the dialogue...
Thanks for telling us that you are safe . We prayed for you all !
I was watching the podcast and didn't realize I was talking out loud to you guys. I was pronouncing the cow breeds. My husband came through and told me you couldn't hear me, because you had headphones on.😂 😂😂
You are appreciated with all the time you put into your filming, in my personal opinion yourselves,I'M A SURVIVOR SANCTURY and Trent and Alli put in the most effort in your videos, I've gone through all who I follow and have deleted roughness as I thought I need to only follow those who deserve it.🥰😘
Yes, Jason, that is the correct pronunciation for Charolais. It’s a French breed of cow. Mildred is beautiful!!! 😊❤️🇨🇦🎶👏👏👏
Mildred is a beautiful name. Don’t let anyone discourage you on choices you make. Your baby, your name.
I love your videos because they aren't bad acting jobs -- you are just REAL! No costumes (well except for the dance videos which I do love), no scripts, just real life and I love that about your channel.
You got a MOOdy and a Mildred. I don’t know if they are Chevrolets or fords, but they are cute!
Good one... This IS what I was hearing, too 👍🏼
Hereford over here is Hair-e-ford. And yes its a town in the UK. Cute baby regardless.
Oh my gosh, how much do I love your brisket tale:-)such a great funny story:-)
Glad it all turned out in the end.
Happy to see this upload. Last night watching the weather I was thinking deeply of y'all!!! 🙏🙏🙏
You guys have me laughing so hard. Just call them cows, is what I say! Love Mildred and Oh My if you get all those animals it's really going to be busy there and fun to watch. Happy New Year to all at the Cog 40.

Winfield my mother-in-law was about 10 miles away. Glad you guys are ok. Watched radar for quite a while worrying about you in that camper.
I did the same. My brother in law was in Birmingham so I was checking on both. Winfield did get some damage. I watched it on Ryan Hall Y’all.
Jason, you are so VERY APPRECIATED!! Your overall patience, easy going attitude about everything you research, and animal gestures, and just everything you do with a big, genuine smile on your face is so heartwarming to all of us. We love it and you! Thank you for YOU!!

I love 23:11 where Brook is tickled by Jason's extensive wood knowledge. 😄 🤣
Of all the channels I'm subscribed to, you guys are my #1 favorite. You have the whole package, especially with Tucker, Peaches, and, of course, Moody. Thanks so much for PERFECT content!!!!!!!
Love love your podcasts and your family. God bless you and your family!
Glad you all are safe. Stay safe Saturday. You two are so enjoyable.
JMO...Jason BLESS YOUR HEART on listing those names, but y'all, you work SOOOO much, we don't need personalized recognition like that...while it's sweet and very much appreciated, a general acknowledgment is sufficient. I think I missed MC's birthday, Happy Belated 12th Birthday, MaryCarl! Happy New Years to all of you!

I could not do videos like you do Jason , and Brooke and Mary Carl we enjoy getting to see you all on the 40 cog hill here in wales Uk .

The word for Jason's editing is "SEAMLESS"! Chad gave MC a shout out on his video for her birthday and mentioned her Instagram channel and to check it out! If there ever was a channel that is so humble and appreciative of every little thing that comes their way it is your family and channel!
