Thanks for watching the video and really pleased you enjoyed it! Yep there is a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into it but the result is worth taking the time to do it!
Thanks for your comment! So the artists is Oliviya Nicole. Glad you like her! She’s a great singer!! Glad you like the tips! I’ll be sharing more each week. If there is any content you want feel free to let me know :)
I use iZotope RX Music Rebalance to separate vocals and music in my songs, but I hear distortions in some parts. No matter how much I tweak the settings, some sections of the music still come out distorted. The recordings are in WAV format and are quite clean, but I sometimes experience issues when separating vocals from the music for karaoke purposes. Do you have any insights on this? Or are you considering making a video on this topic?
Hey, Thanks for your comment! I haven’t used the RX Music Rebalance much as usually I’m sent instrumentals however with any plugin like this there will be artifacts of some sort which could be a possible reason for the distortion you are hearing. I will take a look into it and see if have a fix for it! :)
Maybe I’m just an old fart but through my tv the female singer was flat or mundane, I can hear an artificial compression that’s done manual…! I haven’t watched the whole video but the first few minutes of process and unprocessed reveals scrubbing on the fundamentals, made it sound “AI” or a behringer preamp or AKG perception 200 mic. Listen carefully to your A B where she breathes and vibrates her throat, pushes out with her stomach, that all gets lost. Rx is no joke like melodyne or any correction tool 😬. Great video production, top notch! Better than most.
Thanks so much for your comment! :) So the vocal was tracked with a Stam 33609 compressor which is probably the compression you are hearing on the vocal and the preamp was a Neve 1073. Yes there are downsides when doing a fair bit of heavy lifting with RX although when it comes to the mix process the added plugin compressions brings it back up but a little more controlled is its a bit of give and take kind of thing! Glad you liked the video and appreciate the feedback! :)
@ my point is everything was great raw, good quality capture but the process results was cheap sounding at the end. (AKG perception reference flat). We can control without compromising detail or at the recording stage prevent , example off axis or angled mic, or shock mount. Just pointing out issues with young engineers, the process becomes routine, my claim is that because I hear it here on this video.
@@americatunedright1211 Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Yes with all the plugins and processing these days it is easier to overdo it for sure and full into a routine! I guess it's a balancing act but really appreciate your opinion on it between the before and after the process! Really value your feedback so thank you for taking the time to comment! :)
This video was so real and refreshing. This is what you have to do when your source material isn't recorded perfectly kids.
