I understand it feeling "amateurish" entirely. But Utopia is one of the most ambitious TV programmes on British television in at least 10 years. Its themes, music, colour, and plot are all outstanding if not groundbreaking. Some of the script does feel a bit poor and the acting (or maybe directing) does get a bit bad at times, which can give an 'amateur' vibe. I see why you might have dismissed the program, but I hope it's not because it breaks tradition. After all, that's something British TV needs desperately.

When the dialogue sounds a bit campy or unrealistic, it is done on purpose to give this comic book vibe that subverts realism, which is a towering theme in the show. Every single shot is beautifully constructed and every single aspect that renders this show brilliant remains remarkably consistent throughout.
Please bring this back. You're literally sitting sitting on a goldmine, this is a story that needs to be told and experienced, this could've been your masterpiece.

This entire series was deliciously depressing from start to finish; and i loved every second of it. The makers have a way painting even the most bucolic scenes with long broad brushstrokes of vitriol. season 2 was much harder to swallow, but my taste for more remained unabated.

The plan. Man made virus, even the term V-Day. population target 500million, loads more, vaccine details, small differences like: China flu swapped for Russian flu. I though it started well. Season 2 ep1 was a stand out for me - fantastically written and directed, But Season 2 ep 5 was terribly made, ep 6 wasn't great either. Something went wrong there.
