For me, one of the only positives from 2020 was discovering about 10 comics because of their need to podcast. Mark and Sam being two of them. Glad to see them together like this!
I really got into stand up throughout the quarantine, watching lots of specials on Netflix, and finding videos on TH-cam, and I have loved seeing all of the videos both of these guys have made. These types of videos are my favorite as well.
I loved how quickly it got from a joke about "we don't really care about animals feelings" to mark talking about rubbing noses with his new cat and sam gushing about how nice it feels to be woken up by a fluffy kitten. Describes these two perfectly!
Great episode, went better than the first, (which was also good) But this one instantly had a smooth groove to it. Mark was very stable / linear in his sobriety level,(which after a long night is understandable) Watching Sam physically get progressively more drunk was fantastic. Can't wait for the next one!
These two have a great rapport and it really shows in the flow of the chat. I’ve noticed that when Mark is a guest on other podcasts, he more often than not will burp - and there’s something about the casual deliberateness of it that gets a laugh out of everyone, especially myself. A complete lack of pretension. He’s my favourite. Sam is cool too.
This “One More Drink” thing has potential. Something about that phrase just ropes me in, kind of like that phrase in a bar by a friend. Plus honestly? Normand and Morril definitely my fave stand outs of 2020. Also digging Zoltan but you guys are my faves.
Marks premise on animals reminds me of that old Seinfeld bit about how dogs love going out in the car because the only time they ever feel equal is when they're sitting up in the front seat. Comedy!!
