In the clip "Behind the Scenes" they explain that the work is done by the six or seven person "Clean Team", & basically, they empty out the house as though the people have moved, sorting out the junk, giving away clutter & keeping good items. Then they clean for about 3 days, do repairs (don't paint) & then move back in items. If the carpets can't be cleaned, they do replace carpeting.

Nothing tops the Dogwalker episode with the bags of tissues everywhere and the trash that was a foot and a half thick....or the woman who let her birds fly around the house willy nilly and doesn't put them in their cages so they leave their droppings EVERYWHERE.
I screamed "WHY WHY WHY IS SHE TOUCHING IT!!!!!" That woman touches everything I have noticed and then I see her touching her face and it just makes me want to throw up!
This is one episode that actually made me dry wretch. I am a very strong girl, and it takes a lot for me to feel nausea; And those god damn MAGGOTS were it. Urgh, just imagining the smell in that house was enough for me. Filthy man! Did you see the crud around his light switches? I wouldn't let him near me, simply disgusting!
I think for the purpose of the show they say they do it in one day, but I think it takes at least 3, particularly if the need those samples analysed. Yeah, I too think it's impossible, even if you have a few people working at the same time. I love this show, I wish they had done something like this in Australia. It makes me feel proud of being clean and tidy. At the same time you get amazed at how some people can get to live like without being bothered.
I cannot believe that he used up all those cigarette butts! How awful! I would be ill everywhere if I had to go inside that house. I have a sensitivity to cigarette and cigar smoke.
i dont get how ever nasty house that they go into their is always a vacuum sitting in a corner somewhere like it has never been used if you are going to have if use it

I love the show but i hate the presenters. They make all these exclamations of disgust and then they touch each and every dirt they find with bare hands! That's to me not only disgusting but hipocritic as well. I certainly wouldn't touch something after a ton of eeeeeeeek, aaaaaah etc.
