Madame, did I got right?
We can use IL which is a masculine while there is are women in men group.
And ELLE is used only for females.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Correct but it's ILS and ELLES, plural ;)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Ok madame 🙂
Dylane! what do you mean by partitive?simplify it! PLease!
It's in the lessons just before this one Michael :)
ok I know what you mean!@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
3:23 elle is used for masculine thing? this just confused all the French in my brain that I learned so far
Definitely a copy paste error there!
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane uh huh, makes sense
There is a strong trend in the U.S.A. to politely inquire about gender preferences when we are unsure. There are some who are born as female who identify as male gender or as ‘they’, and others who are born as male who identify as female or ‘nonbinary’. Is this something that is being addressed or trending in France also?
I think it's coming as well but slowly. Usually you can feel a few years difference between the US and Europe. That being said, we have a new pronoun IEL for non binary people. I am afraid that people won't be as open minded tho.
This is a channel where we come to learn french, not lay trends. With all due respect anyone can identify as anything they want, but expecting everyone else to join their perception is just too demanding, and makes brings unnecessary complications to beautiful languages
Question: what pronoun in French do non binary people use?
There is the pronoun IEL that has been added to the dictionary in 2022 :) It's a mix of IL and ELLE :)
iel doesen t exist for the real french
@@Mat.m75006 Is "iel" similar to "ain't" as far as slang is concerned?
@@davidevans6072 its probs ou more like neopronouns like ze/zir
M+M+F = ILS
F+F+M =??
Ils :)
Good thing they show you respect while you are eating a banana...
I don't think you understand it 🙃
French is a little bit sexist. :)
I agree that the masculine wins is a bit off :/
I live in France. How can I get this book of yours? Please let me know.
