    when I wax pot my pickups, I always add some ear wax that I save up in a mason jar. to get that good golden tone. Sometimes they smell a little funny. That pickup you made sounds great. Keep up the content you are really the only thing out there to relieve the boredom of meatey oktrety.

      Hahahaha thank you so much for this awesome comment WPAF. I have actually given some though to picking out a certain brand of scented wax cubes or essential oil to add to my wax pot. Then all my pickups will have a signature smell like buttery waffle or birthday cake... Seems like a fun extra. Thanks again for watching bro. I was answering comments from months back and kinda remembered what im doing on here and decided to do some videos like this one: in the original spirit and style of the channel... Although I still got some extra fancy nifty stuff going on the back burner. ;)

      Thank you so much for watching Adam. I am too! Its so much quicker and easier to do things and record them now. Oh, How about that tone at the end! Thats the same amp and mic but I'm in the big open pineboard live room finally, That sound room was built right after I moved here has been packed with the saw and all the other big tools for the workshop for years. :) Im feeling really good about things right now!

      Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to write such a kind comment Eddie. Awesome! I actually had quite a bit of fun making and editing this video. Hahaha, Its so much easier to do this whole thing with a proper place to do it in with lights and enough room to move things. Started sneaking the use of a modern camera lens in finally as well. I was really surprised by the sound of this recording same mic same amp but Im actually in a big pine board room designed to record now. ;) IM really feeling good about things at the moment!

    Loving your stuff. Your videos pretty darn educational. Its nice to see someone actually going through the guts, nuts and bolts of the thing instead of "WOW Look at this new/old guitar!" Have you ever experimented with different pots? (I.E: Cermet, Molded Carbon, different Watt ratings)

      Hahaha, Thanks for watching EK. I had a good bit of fun making and editing this. Soooo much easier with a better place to set up and record. I also think I figured out that videos in this original style of the channel need to be the direction I go in, I still got some fancy stuff bubblin in the darkness. Hey, I was stoked at the tone on this recording. Im finally able to get into the big pine live room to record a loud amp, It had a saw and tools and all that stuff packed in it since 2018? I'm feeling very much better about things for the channel at this time. ;)

    Boy, that middle position with the raw ouput is fuggin KILLING it for tone! What magnets did you put on this?

    • @heavymetalATC
      @heavymetalATC  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hahaha! Thanks DH. Thats a ceramic magnet from a chinese squire. The raw output definitely rules over a tone and vol circuit and I think 3 things also helping it get that tone... 1) All that rediculous scatter in the winding and it wasn't potted for too long 2) Loud amp pointed up in a big pine board live room 3) Its hard to tell on the black guitar but its kinda in a strange position between the normal neck and middle and tilted to bridge the gap. I learned about this sweet spot from an old japanese teisco style guitar. I guess this is why an sg a les paul and a flying v all sound different with the same exact parts... the pickups are in slightly different places (nodes) on the strings. ;)

  • @greylocke100
    @greylocke100 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Have you gotten a chance to try to multi-split/tap idea I gave you? I thought up a modification of that idea and thought of using a Neodymium bar magnet but to wind it like a lipstick pickup, no bobbin just wind the magnet itself, while adding the taps into the windings.

      I still love the sound of a tube amp. Warm, some slight noise and imperfections but sounds awesome. Only thing I dislike about them is the cost and tubes (valve for you British blokes out there) can be hard to find, especially since so many are from Putin land.@@heavymetalATC
