This team lacks leadership from the coaching standpoint and needs it desperately. It's the only way that the players are going to work together as a team, with a coach that has that expectation and is going to plan a team game that Sides appears incapable of bringing to this group. Sides' substitutions are mystifying and her game plan isn't utilizing the talent on her roster correctly. Lots of platitudes and not enough planning.
Coaching is the biggest problem, but some of her teammates are not helping either. Mitchell plays hero ball and refuses Tobias’s to CC, Wheeler sucks but surprisingly had an ok game tonight, Wallace should not be starting.l, and Smith is checked out, getting cooked. They miss CCs passes or don’t finish when they actually catch the pass. Lastly, they all need to play more Defense.

They also need to keep their heads on a swivel and keep their hands up, be ready for her passes. Now, don't get me wrong, as some of her turnovers last night were definitely very iffy, her fault, trying to thread the needle too finely. But I think some of the 50/50 passes in that game were a result of desperation on CCs part. She's trying to do too much because her teammates aren't doing enough.

The team stunk mostly due to 22 turnovers. Like CC said, it's hard to have fun or smile during games like this. Her frustration broke through more in this press conference than in any I've seen. As you said, "she's been....", and I agree. This game may have been her breaking point. Temi played well and I'm so glad she's back, but the Fever just can't defend bigs well. Boston, Smith and Temi look physical enough to do it, but they get dominated when there is one aggressive big on the opposing team. I think they should double team that player and take their chances on giving up a shot from the perimeter, or they'll get run over in the paint like they did in the last Sky game. I only saw them do that once in that game and it resulted in a steal.
AB should have stepped up and helped CC during the press conference. However, she dropped the ball as she has done dropping her “dime” passes. I am very disappointed with AB’s lack of support.

Perhaps CC should refuse to go to a couple of the post pressas even if she gets fined and limit her availability in pre-game pressas. One to give herself some personal space, two have the rest of her team take up some of the PR responsibilities, not leaving it up to CC to carry the load.

Caitlin Clark is by far and exceptional player, and she is the only reason I have recently started watching WNBA. Seen her play in Iowa, and fell in love with her playing, and attitude. With that said, she has caught hell after coming to the WNBA, and its mostly over the hype that the outside has pushed or narrative prior to her coming. The veteran players had already made up their minds not to like her before hand. They excluded her, talked down to her over things she had no control over, and yet expect her to stay positive no matter what they throw at her. She has been doing and excellent job with it, but a person is only human and can only listen to so much of it before it takes it's toll. Can't say a team lost or won because of one player, especially when they play their hearts out for ya. Grow a pair and shut the bs down, get the team all on the same page. Fever is a good team and has excellent players on it, but they need to pull Caitlin into the fold with open arms. Weather its because of her or not, the WNBA has gotten so much more attention since she has been on the court.

I hope CC writes a book about her experience in the WNBA. The rights to that book might produce generational money. CC won't need to ever play again but Basketball is probably something that's such a big part of her life, she could never give it up.
I agree that when there are other players in on that press conference, these idiot reporters need to start asking EVERYONE up on stage there thoughts and not just one particular player. It's extremely frustrating to Caitlin as it is to the other players.
Just for everyone's general edification in these types of pressers typically the club will have a media liason present just to make sure reporters respect the clubs rules regarding what can and not be asked etc. But more importantly for rookies in particular having to handle this level of scrutiny is simply not allowed. Thats what the Captain, Coach and GM are for 😂❤ and that comment where she said "No one gives me advice, I wish..." shows exactly how dysfunctional this team really is

I told everyone this was going to happen everything was good when they were winning now that they're losing there are fingers being pointed nobody wants to take accountability for their part in losing. Caitlin Clark was frustrated and gave up in the third quarter. I was looking for that energy she had when she single handedly bought the team back from being down 12 points. I don't know if she was gassed or just frustrated. I remember her passing a cutter the ball and it got fumbled out of bounds, she looked frustrated afterwards. People only see Caitlin Clark during press conferences before and after a game they don't see her interacting and having fun with her teammates often, they are the ones who feel all of the pressure in a loss because all of the blame goes to them, they hear all of the talk how can you expect them so embrace her? All of them have holes in their game but the only ones who really get blamed are the teammates and not Caitlin
The WNBA has shot themselves in the foot. They look completely unprofessional and disjointed. The whole organization is a mess and very messy within their ranks. Something has to give. All this drama is overshadowing the game and the sport.
The media is at fault here. They act like CC is the only one to ask questions. Yes she’s a star and articulate but the media is contributing to alienate her from her teammates by acting like they don’t exist. The coach needs to tell the media to ask ALL of the players questions or they will not be available after the games. The problem is the media gets better answers as to why the team wins or loses from CC than from the coach. The coach keeps saying the team needs to do a better job here or there but she doesn’t make the right adjustments during the game. That and the fact she lacks accountability.
Her teammates are pissed because they want to talk to her and rightly so. There should be one person out there at a time like the nba. You talk to each person a certain amount of time. Team is supposed to be handling the press conferences.

We have small guards which means they can’t every time muscle their way thru the screen. Tell Boston and Smith they don’t always have to finish at the rim. Pull up and hit the short jumper. Quit having Clark and Mitchell run a 20 yard dash from the corner just to get open. Frustrating to watch this!

I’m certain most rookies go through some of what Caitlin experiences . But again .. she is singular. And it seems like No One is in her corner . That's where you and everyone else is incorrect, IN SO MANY WAYS. I'll just start with the most important one. THE WNBA, JUST LIKE THE NBA, IS BASED ON UNION CONTRACTUAL HIERARCHY. COACHES MUST ABIDE BY THE CONTRACTUAL HIERARCHY WHEN DOLING OUT PLAYING TIME. This is not high school ball, or college ball. THIS IS PROFFESSIONAL WNBA BASKETBALL WHICH IS STRUCTURED ACCORDING TO UNION RULES. Sides, (EVERY COACH), assigns playing time, and thus team composition, according to contract status. The players with the best contracts status get the most minutes, most shots, most opportunities, PERIOD. All coaches can do is to allocate non-premium minutes to non-premium players. Second, ROOKIES DON'T MATTER, NOT EVEN MS CLARK. Caitlin will have her time, but it's after she matures into a woman, has an adequate team surrounding her, she has actual experience with the league, refs, rules, new players, and time allocations, adequate practice time, and after ALL OF THE TEAM develops a positive team chemistry, and after she advances into her second contract term. ALL OF THOSE THINGS ARE COMPLETELY SEPARATE VARIABLES, BUT THOSE VARIABLES ARRIVE IN THE SAME TIME FRAME, WHICH IS NOT ANYWHERE IN A ROOKIE SEASON. Plus, Sides is brand new at her job, and no coach is qualified to coach Clark because no one has seen anyone like Clark, so many of the maturing variables that are necessary for Clark to improve, also relate to coach sides. Even more? This first season is not just to tank for another top pick, it's also a filter period to see who can, and who wants, to be on Caitlin's team. (I hate to call it "Caitlin's" team, but the fact is that it will be at some point.) Sides has to learn her new position (which is filled with a ton of pressure), as well as figure out (along with management) which current players will fit with Caitlin, and which would be better elsewhere. This means that the first season is partially to clear out the ruffage, but there is no guarantee that the proper pieces can be obtained in just one off-season, and even if they were, it still could take a few seasons for them to gel. You people who are stupid and are expecting too much from Clark and the situation too soon, are actually more distracting to Clark than the Clark haters. If you don't enjoy the games, don't watch. If you want to follow Clark for half a season, just move on. If you want to follow Clark's CAREER, THEN CHILL OUT AN LET THE GIRL GROW AND MATURE. IT'S GOING TO BE A 15 YEAR RIDE. This team lacks leadership from the coaching standpoint and needs it desperately. It's the only way that the players are going to work together as a team, with a coach that has that expectation and is going to plan a team game that Sides appears incapable of bringing to this group. Sides' substitutions are mystifying and her game plan isn't utilizing the talent on her roster correctly. Lots of platitudes and not enough planning.
Coaching is the biggest problem, but some of her teammates are not helping either. Mitchell plays hero ball and refuses Tobias’s to CC, Wheeler sucks but surprisingly had an ok game tonight, Wallace should not be starting.l, and Smith is checked out, getting cooked. They miss CCs passes or don’t finish when they actually catch the pass.
Lastly, they all need to play more Defense.

They also need to keep their heads on a swivel and keep their hands up, be ready for her passes. Now, don't get me wrong, as some of her turnovers last night were definitely very iffy, her fault, trying to thread the needle too finely. But I think some of the 50/50 passes in that game were a result of desperation on CCs part. She's trying to do too much because her teammates aren't doing enough.

But she’s a talent that needs a coach to develop all her skills. Her IQ is high and that is intimidating to Sides. I hope in the off season 2 things happen: Sides and entire coaching staff is replaced, and Clark hits the gym and puts on some muscle, and also gets the rest she needs. Just 2 months ago or so, she was in college playing in the championship. Crazy.

The team stunk mostly due to 22 turnovers. Like CC said, it's hard to have fun or smile during games like this. Her frustration broke through more in this press conference than in any I've seen. As you said, "she's been....", and I agree. This game may have been her breaking point. Temi played well and I'm so glad she's back, but the Fever just can't defend bigs well. Boston, Smith and Temi look physical enough to do it, but they get dominated when there is one aggressive big on the opposing team. I think they should double team that player and take their chances on giving up a shot from the perimeter, or they'll get run over in the paint like they did in the last Sky game. I only saw them do that once in that game and it resulted in a steal.
Most rookies have a senior player to help them along, mentally and just someone to talk to sometimes. She does't that I'm aware of.

Caitlin Clark is by far and exceptional player, and she is the only reason I have recently started watching WNBA. Seen her play in Iowa, and fell in love with her playing, and attitude. With that said, she has caught hell after coming to the WNBA, and its mostly over the hype that the outside has pushed or narrative prior to her coming. The veteran players had already made up their minds not to like her before hand. They excluded her, talked down to her over things she had no control over, and yet expect her to stay positive no matter what they throw at her. She has been doing and excellent job with it, but a person is only human and can only listen to so much of it before it takes it's toll. Can't say a team lost or won because of one player, especially when they play their hearts out for ya. Grow a pair and shut the bs down, get the team all on the same page. Fever is a good team and has excellent players on it, but they need to pull Caitlin into the fold with open arms. Weather its because of her or not, the WNBA has gotten so much more attention since she has been on the court.

COACHES MUST ABIDE BY THE CONTRACTUAL HIERARCHY WHEN DOLING OUT PLAYING TIME.
This is not high school ball, or college ball. THIS IS PROFFESSIONAL WNBA BASKETBALL WHICH IS STRUCTURED ACCORDING TO UNION RULES.
Sides, (EVERY COACH), assigns playing time, and thus team composition, according to contract status.
The players with the best contracts status get the most minutes, most shots, most opportunities, PERIOD.
All coaches can do is to allocate non-premium minutes to non-premium players.
Second, ROOKIES DON'T MATTER, NOT EVEN MS CLARK.
Caitlin will have her time, but it's after she matures into a woman, has an adequate team surrounding her, she has actual experience with the league, refs, rules, new players, and time allocations, adequate practice time, and after ALL OF THE TEAM develops a positive team chemistry, and after she advances into her second contract term.
ALL OF THOSE THINGS ARE COMPLETELY SEPARATE VARIABLES, BUT THOSE VARIABLES ARRIVE IN THE SAME TIME FRAME, WHICH IS NOT ANYWHERE IN A ROOKIE SEASON.
Plus, Sides is brand new at her job, and no coach is qualified to coach Clark because no one has seen anyone like Clark, so many of the maturing variables that are necessary for Clark to improve, also relate to coach sides.
Even more? This first season is not just to tank for another top pick, it's also a filter period to see who can, and who wants, to be on Caitlin's team.
(I hate to call it "Caitlin's" team, but the fact is that it will be at some point.)
Sides has to learn her new position (which is filled with a ton of pressure), as well as figure out (along with management) which current players will fit with Caitlin, and which would be better elsewhere.
This means that the first season is partially to clear out the ruffage, but there is no guarantee that the proper pieces can be obtained in just one off-season, and even if they were, it still could take a few seasons for them to gel.
You people who are stupid and are expecting too much from Clark and the situation too soon, are actually more distracting to Clark than the Clark haters.
If you don't enjoy the games, don't watch. If you want to follow Clark for half a season, just move on.
If you want to follow Clark's CAREER, THEN CHILL OUT AN LET THE GIRL GROW AND MATURE. IT'S GOING TO BE A 15 YEAR RIDE.
No rookie has ever dominated in the way you stupid people expect Clark AND HER LOTTERY LEVEL TEAM to perform from day one.
It's your dumm, unrealistic, expectations that is piling unnecessary pressure onto Clark.
Learn the subject matter, be patient, or just move on to something else.
