So as someone who moved to vail this winter to snowboard and work here Im now staying for the summer and wanted to see what the mountain biking scene was like and compared to the trails i rode back east it looks great. As for the trail diversity it turns out that the trails are made and maintained by the summer staff of ski patrol as a hobby more than part of their job so they only cut one a year if that. But if Vail gets a dedicated bike crew it could be some of the best park riding in CO
I have followed you for a long time. I enjoy your videos. I must say that I’ve always dreamt of ridding in Utah or Arizona, but after this video, I am putting Vail on my bucket list. Those looooooong blue trails just seem like my kind of trail riding. Great videos. Keep it up.
Wow, three years you've been subscribed. Thanks so much, really means a lot to hear from the people who've stuck around. Vail is amazing, I wouldn't spend a whole vacation just at the bike park, but its an area where you can choose a "homebase" and drive an hour here and there to hit a bunch of amazing spots.
@@BlindstuffMTB definitely does not feel like 3 years. Keep doing what you’re doing! I also loved your Optic detail review. I ordered one in October and it might finally get here in April....lol. Can’t wait.
Thanks CJ, appreciate it. Skiing is the best. I've tried to get some video and honestly never get to a quality point where I think I can pull it off. There's a few half baked ones that I scrapped. No skiing for me this season, so maybe next one I'll try again.
Taking my best friend, who is not a MTBer, to Vail and I think we will try this park on Saturday. I am not sure we are going to try all the trails but I liked the sequence you shared on this video. Should be a great time. Thanks for the vid.
@@BlindstuffMTB Yeah, for sure. That’s the plan. I’m not taking my bike (and he doesn’t have one) so we’ll rent there. We’ll want to get used to bikes/tires and the terrain/trails before we start pushing it a bit. Do you recommend wearing a full face mask and elbow/knee pads for these trails?
Great vid, Stefano! That "sick edit of your favorite bike brand, ripping through the forest with Sail playing in the background" got me laughing out loud. Guess we were a bit early, listening to Sail while driving that baller F150 on the PNW trip a couple of years ago haha
Its funny when you riding easy trails abuse by beginners at the end of season in high speed you suddenly find out is bone rattle ride more tiring than any black trail, love it.... to bad didn't visit any bike park last year, hope this year will be better...... rather ride those kind of trails than craaazy jumps!!! Ohhh NO, ohhh NO poor bike and the tree :-) thank you for excellent riding, cheers V!
So very true. Those braking bumps on blue/green trails get really really bad. Whereas some black trails stay reasonable. Thanks for joining for the ride as always Verdon, cheers!
Not all is bad with florida lol. Trail accesibility around South Florida is phenomenal for year round riding, but yes, I do miss living close to the mountains. Skiing is a huge ordeal instead of just a drive up. Maybe someday I'll move again.
You comment on your hand pain from time to time on long rides. I'm curious what that is for you? I've just finished some studies to find out about mine. My fingers go numb and my wrist has a sharp pain in it on my right hand. I did a nerve study and found out I do have carpal tunnel syndrome, which is why the fingers go numb (they go numb on my mtb, on my motorcycle, and while holding a switch pro controller--it's weird). I also did an mri + arthrogram with contrast and don't know the results on that one yet. I have my follow up with my hand and wrist specialist in a couple of weeks. Hoping whatever is going on is correctable without too much impact. We think it's because of my arm break last fall and having to use my other arm to do basically everything for months, plus unnoticed or unaddressed trauma on my unbroken wrist. It did hurt for a few days, but compared to my other arm, it was barely noticeable (especially with the meds they had me on). So I'm just wondering what your experience is? Pain and I are old friends, but I've never done anything longer than 10 miles on my mtb so I'm just curious.
You won't believe this, but for me it was the angle of my brake levers. I've got them almost flat now where my wrist is more in a "push up" position and the pain has mostly gone away. I've had a few arm and hand injuries and thought maybe it was that, but it turned out to be much simpler of a fix. Try it out and see if it works for you before you focus only on the medical route. Jokes in the video aside, I think this is a good reference: th-cam.com/video/7YHDpunS4yQ/w-d-xo.html I don't have them 100% flat, but I went flat and then a bit down and it helped enormously. I Still get some pain on very long ride but its waaaayyyy better. Hope its an easy fix for you too.
Love seeing a lift-accessed place which caters more to tje laid-back, casual style of riding.
A little bit for everyone, form super chill to scary.

Didn't know it was volunteer crew. Vail would really benefit from dedicated work.

@@TrailMTBer Stoked to hear that. Enjoy it. I still use the one from the video every once in a while. Love that bike!
On my bucketlist too
You lost me at "Sail playing in the background" 😂. JK, solid video man.
lol. yeah, I hate that song too, it got so overplayed in its time for every single action video!
Great video and storytelling man! I'm a big skier as well and would love to see some skiing videos!

Cool. Now I know to bring my trail bike when my wife does the Triple Bypass next year.
You must. And don't limit yourself to the bike park. There's a few trails real close by worth pedaling up.
He's back!!
🤘 doing my best to get a video out every couple of weeks!
Great video. Makes me want to get out there again and ride the park.
Thanks Brian! Its definitely worth visiting if you're doing an i70 roadtrip.
Lift access single track with gorgeous views, sick!
You know it!

Progress little by little and you should be good. Don't push to much too soon or it may put him off the sport.

@@jsasa5668 If you're renting they will offer gear. I would 100% recommend a full face helmet.
Dude I live in Colorado and near alot of places you mention. Sick riding!
I live near here so it’s nice to have a nice bike park
And some killer skiing in winter. The EX stuff in blue sky is so good for inbounds terrain.

You know it! Man, that F150 was so sick. I was watching some Transition videos and now I want to a) ride the PNW again b) buy a sentinel.

Excellent stuff
Hey man great vid just ran these trails with my brother this weekend👍
Nice! Happy you had fun out there. Such a great place and vibe.
"Not a jumping place". Sign me up!
Right? It tends to be so hard to find bike parks that aren't focused on massive jumps.
You ski too? And you still live in Florida? That is my kind of bike park, good description of it too 'a trail-rider's bike park'.

Hey man, great video, Vail looks awesome those days, which month did you guys travel there ?? 🤘🏼
I live in Vail and do really like and enjoy the bike park but they could definitely do a lot better compared to other bike parks around.
nice video, your friend on the pink bike is that a fezzari if so where did he get that frame bag?
Awesome video!!
Thanks Josue!
Man I need to take my Turbo Levo there
Must be a ton of fun. Make sure they're ok with ebikes fun.

Which is better Vail or Breckenridge bike park?
I haven't ridden the bike park there. Just trails around it. Sorry
When was this video recorded?
Fall 2020
Man wish I hadn’t sold my bike. 🤦♂️
There's always more time to get back in later. Whenever your ready. Bikes are supposed to be fun, nothing more.
watch out for wrong way hikers!
