I am really curious about the rules. It could be just me but whenever I see a 3Style DJ set I seldom see DJ's touch the pitch fader. Is it allowed to use auto sync or adjust the pitch of the song by pre-editting? It feels wrong to do be allowed to do that.
Well said. I was so surprised when this happen. It is hard to do that stuff you DJs do at those events. So to see someone do a routine and have it done so well then find out it was pre-recorded hurts. I am no where near the level of those guys but I will never deceive anyone with a whole set of pre-recorded mixes. That sucks
This could be the most important stance and announcement that the Red Bull #3style has ever made in regards to protecting the art and the magic that "is" DJ'ing Thank you Skratch Bastid! - clarification is paramount so we all play by the same rules, rules to be enforced in realtime with Judges being able to spot a fake or pre recorded mix when it occurs is key also - As a lifer DJ who has expressed that "what is defined as mixing hasn't changed only its interpretation has" - interpretation only has value with clarity once we act as one and speak as one we establish a status quo and allow the art to speak for it self with true representation - in other words TRUST which is the main ingredient in progress if you ask me. I trust that this video will help establish a higher standard and calling which was needed to regain the trust that was almost lost on multiple levels. G Smooth is suffering from butt hurt at the moment, he's just posted a live video of him doing his set on Facebook to prove that it wasn't faked, quite a few irregularities between that video and his "live" set at the threestyle event. Admit that you faked it, brush yourself off and come back next year and do it properly, he's a talented dj so there was no need to fake it but trying to claim that he is the victim here isn't doing himself any favours.
Shit was BLATANTLY mimed, yet G Smooth is still doubling down on this shit, claiming he's get a "legal team" involved. It's embarrassing. Look at this clip of the scratching at the end of his "live" set, for example: - th-cam.com/video/ZUfcUnKaCBQ/w-d-xo.html During the majority of it, look at the marker on the record label. It's all over the place. There's just no explanation for that other than "MIMING!". The very last bit of scratching on "yeah" is so fake that any scratch/battle DJ with even a bit of experience is laughing at that shit.
Well said..when we all saw the video from the comp we could tell straight away that he faked it...and to think that he tried to defend himself after he got DQed makes some of us dj's down here look like crap
Well its safe to say what he did was far from SMOOTH and he doesn't deserve to use MY name. So a DJ who faked his set and uses a fake "non-registered" name gets NO respect from over here in the states.
