This whole, "WHO CAN GO HARDER EVERY SINGLE DAY, MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY?!?!?!?" attitude doesn't actually work. I used to do that and the only thing I got out of it was constantly being injured. I have been doing some studying on what is called zone 2 training. Thats where you are training lightly, continuously, to where you can hold a conversation while doing so. Most pro athletes spend approximately 80% of their training time in that zone and then 20% of the time they go hard. My cardio in rolling has gone through the roof doing it, I am more explosive, and I am not getting injured in training. So these hard rolls are definitely worthwhile (20% 9f the time) but doing this kind of stuff all the time, everyday is just going to make you quit the sport faster because you are just going to be in a wheelchair on the sidelines. Or you are going to take months long breaks and lose out on gains in technical abilities.
Coach Firas Zahabi uses the 75% method.. training consistently at 75% is better than training inconsistent/injuries etc at 100%. Especially as you get older.. I like to have specific days which I know will be harder days.. and then on others I’ll go easier and switch it up. Train for longevity. I guess if you’re competing, then you need a camp 6weeks of hard work !
