The Empire attacking Yavin with ground forces after the Death Star was destroyed wasn't something Battlefront just made up and was actually a canon event in the legends Star Wars canon a more in-depth depiction of that battle is shown in Rogue Squadron III's first stage if you wanted to see an example of it.
The Polis Massa seens from 22:50 are from Revenge of the Sith; it's Obi-Wan (riding Padme's ship she took to Mustafar) to Polis Massa after his duel with Anakin.
Awesome video! thanks for checking out the OG Battlefront games! Something to point out for the Xbox DLC charecters for BF2. Ventress is from her 2003 form, also they took some freedom in the design using elements from the Republic comics (2002-2006) with the 2003 clone wars. (Legends) Kit Fisto with him being shirtless and using force bubble is specifically from the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon. his lightsaber is also having that wave-like effect because its referencing his battle on Mon Calamari from the 03 cartoon. (Legends) A lot of the events in the campaign of BF2 actually fits REALLY well into the Legends era of the lore (which was the current lore at the time, pre- 2008 clone wars and pre ret-con's from said show). There are a few things that are a little weird here and there. But for the most part overall it fits almost perfectly. Side-note: I kinda forgot about this till someone mentioned it in the comments, which further goes with my point about the campaign. "Revenge of the Empire" mission on Yavin 4 is in fact a reference to Rouge Squadron III from 2003.
Thank you! It’s so cool how much was taken from the 2003 show! It’s awesome that they were able to implement so many things from Legends into this game! Beyond the original Thrawn Trilogy of books I honestly don’t know too much about Legends haha.
My dad and I played battlefront 1 daily for nearly a decade. We had battlefront 2 but didn't play it nearly as much. At least for the PS2 versions battlefront 1 looks and controls better overall imo at least. Also the jet trooper is sick and op in bf1 so I was biased there.
The reason why the campaign ends on Hoth is because the clone journal writer that we followed throughout the campaign dies on Endor, so he never got the chance to write about it.
Since you have the version with the dlc, you can play as Anakin on light side but just one map being Yavin Arena for clone wars era. Also in the second game, I never liked how playing as heroes gives you that lightsaber health bar that ticks down. Would've preferred the normal health bar infantry gets that only runs out when you take damage. I really like the way ships/vehicles work in the original Battlefront games. Imagine being able to take full control of the Mantis in the Jedi games in the same way..
