That's my uncle on bass!!! Love Sunday Valley and I cherish the memories of being on the VIP list at The Dame in Lexington, KY!! I still jam their album in my car!!
@@igmaticdrummer so I asked him and he said 10 years ago someone took all his tapes of footage and said they would convert it to DVD and never did or gave them back 😭
Not really sure why I relate 2 Sturgill music, if itz our age is close or itz a southern thing or because he was in the Navy but imo..itz a perfect fit ..❤ all his music bottom line. Banging my Sturgill drum. 4ever
@@igmaticdrummer amazing! I might see my younger self there if theres a shot of the audience lol. Great memories. It’s a shame that place is no longer around. What a waste.
I run a Sturgill fan group on Facebook and a Sturgill blog. I have met some great people who have shared their footage and some of it I've collected along the way.
Some of those guitar licks sound a lot like Clarence gatemouth Brown. Especially the tone. The bass too in some parts. Reminds me of his song pressure cooker.
fuck this song is powerful for someone like myself who doesn't claim to be religious like mos christians out there nowadays who cant accept someone different from them selves
Sturgill s the best thing to come around in decades.
Corb Lund
My goodness his lyrics are phenomenal. You never asked me if I wanted to be the son of God.
He's just another talented young man from The Licking River Valley in eastern Kentucky 💙💙💙 GO BIG BLUE

@@bethanyevans4725 please ask him! I'd love to see more footage from back in those days.
@@igmaticdrummer will do! He's a busy man but I'm sure he probably does somewhere

Dude i wish he would pull this out on the Tour!!!(Jesus Boogie) Hopefully tomorrow lol 🤘🤙🙌
Damn never thought I’d see this live awesome thx!
Jesus Boogie is my favorite , there is just something special about it. Really like the Cuttin Grass version, but the original SV is just a banger 💫
Preach Brother Sturgill. And thank you Brother Caleb
I've been waiting forever for a live version of jesus boogie. Not the version I prefer but interesting to see the evolution of the song.
Yeah this was definitely more of a mellow setting rather than the rocking studio versions but I dig it.
Very nice 👍
Love how prominently the bass is mixed in, and that round warm tone!
Uploaded on my 21 birthday and I'm just now finding it. Thanks bud preciate the delayed present. This is awesome
Thanks man. This is great!
You can find the full show by searching "Sunday Valley Red Barn Radio".
Waylon would be proud
Jesus Loves You
I fucking love Sturgill Simpson
Just wanted to point out here that yes this is going up the country but also the lyrics to blue yodel no. 1 in the style of going up the country
I miss seeing this at The Dame in Lexington.
Uploading a live set at The Dame now.

@@igmaticdrummer I just watched some of it. I was absolutely 100% there that night.
Caleb, how do you have all of this old footage of Sturgill and the different variations of Sunday Valley, amazing. Still my favorite Sturgill music.

Holy shit, he looks completely different back then than he does now
I’m gonna sell a kidney and buy me some Sunday Valley Vinyl and a turntable.
It doesn't exist other than the Lexington Music Project with just the one song "Goodbye" on it. CD only.
Baby Strugill
Shoulda been a bonus track on sound and fury. 😃
Shout out to caleb Lewis for my favorite video on all of youtube!
