Great breakdown of your processes, Pete.
It sounds like the Van Winkle razor is a fantastic addition to your already stellar line-up of products.

Great video, really good advice on the 2 pass shave. That’s how I’ve been doing it for a while now; close and comfortable is all I need, especially on the sensitive neck area.

To me, efficiency means how effective the razor is at removing stubble and how close it cuts. Mild, medium and aggressive refers to how much blade feel I experience while using the razor. All 3 levels can be smooth though if the right blade is paired with razor.
This is how I interpret and explain it.
Great video and your testing method sounds great Pete!

One thing that can vary the shave is the side of your face being evaluated. Most use one hand when using a DE and you shave each side of your face a bit different. Your skin and whiskers may also be a little different. I notice that I generally spend a bit more time buffing the right side of my face over my left. The net result is usually the same, but it can vary slightly.

I couldn't agree more. Most of the time, especially when evaluating soap; I would think the minimum would be to do round 1 of the test one day, then swap sides the next day. When evaluating new soap base recipes, I might have to swap sides 4-5 times before making a definite call. I like your thinking!!!!!
