In view of the current increases in population within the Greater Toronto Area and the inadequate transit system, I am not making any moves to leave my home New Year's Eve to celebrate. I will watch remotely on my computer at home in Etobicoke, Ontario all the activities from Times Square in the USA and Niagara Falls in Canada.
current cost of living index in Canada is at 2%, and Welded Tube of Canada is doing a wage increase of 2% only. That is not going to fly in the current economy. The union should ask for twice as much, 4% yearly increase to keep up with inflation.
It’s a freaking joke (: don’t any one take a joke anymore? This joke has been around forever. Calm down people. Take it easy. Politicians also have humerus sides of them .
cry babies.... my company gave me a 3% increase and they make way more than me per hour ... I'm grateful for any increase. once they accept any increase - LOOK AROUND FOR ANOTHER JOB ....ugh
Exactly. I was always thankful I had a good job. I was always thankful I wasn't in Iraq, and I was always thankful I wasn't borne a Palestinian. People need to get perspective.
@FedUpwitU iron workers build skyscrapers. This particular mill at 111 Rayette makes structural and industrial steel tubing, typically used to make tractors or building. On Bowes road they make petroleum piping... This particular company is only paying labour's $18.79/h
Lock out during holidays is strategic. Make sure you walk off the job at high season. Take the company down with you.

4% is respectable. True inflation is not 2%. Let’s face it.
I encourage the Mgt and union to bargain in good faith. These are hard working employees needing a union contract.
Mgt never bargain in good faith. 2% is garbage lol!

Salary Increases = If not = we are all QUIT.
No one cares; they will just hire new people at a lower level with fewer benefits. Look how it worked out for the postal workers.
