Keep in mind that Mark isn't Half-Viltrimite. Nolan literally just described Mark as basically a Full-Blooded Viltrumite because of how procreation rules work for Viltrumites. Last season Nolan said Viltrumites DNA is so pure, you're basically Full-Blooded.
Nolan is talking out of his ass a bit though. Recall Nolan thought he wouldn't even get powers, they came in so late for Mark. He's the first human hybrid. I know he told Mark that, but he is relying on racist tainted science of his people over vast amounts of time & OTHER alien hybrids that have occurred (& they aren't common, although I'll avoid spoilers). Nolan cannot possibly really know. Again, skipping spoilers, he might be right about it, although another spoiler, as Mark has a human trait that is spoilers
@@GenghisDon1970 Because he got his powers late doesn't mean anything. And Nolan wasn't talking out of his ass. Recall that Nolan also said in the first episode of season 1 that even the latest bloomers on Viltrum get their powers right before their 18th birthday. Also the explanation of DNA purity among procreation is a real thing. Nolan literally explained it in season 1 and 2. Also it was said in the Invincible comics as well.

Actually the thraxans arc is an incredible way of making us empathize with Nolan's character, I've seen reactors talking about the thraxans in the same way Nolan talked about humans, and it's natural for us feeling that way about a race of humanoid insects whose life span is just about some few months, so Nolan it's not just evil, it's the natural feeling of comparing his own race with any other
The opening sequence with Nolan is also a good way to show just how strong Viltrumites are, he flew right next to a sun and was keeping himself from being sucked into a black hole which obviously is pretty insane
Well, comic book readers can spoiler you on his brother's lifespan, but in the show at this time, no one in the entire universe would know. He's one of a kind. utterly unique. Honestly, even Mark is a bit of an unknown quality. Recall Nolan thought he wouldn't even get powers, they came in so late for Mark. He's the first human hybrid.
In episode 8, the entire monologue Nolan was giving Mark, he was really trying to convince himself that he shouldn't feel the way he does about Debbie, Mark and humans.
You know, now seeing the whole season and having digested it, Yeah the Invincible writing team and the comics are great. This season is amazing actually. You girls did well, don't have to wait for the second half like us
50:45 that's what I thought first, I'm pretty sure with laws and everything give up some of our Autonamy. But knowing how they treated their "Weak". Im sure its not gonna be good for us.
Mark isn't half Viltrumite, he's more like 99%. Like Nolan said last season, he's nearly full blooded because Viltrumite genetics are that strong. It's important to remember.
@@FreakyAlienGenotype They're probably stronger when dealing with similar genes, that's why the rules only allow them to breed with genetically similar species.
Something i havent seen yet is people commenting in how Nolan changed, obviously what he did on earth was horrible, but after that he grew out of literally thousands of year of adoctrination and viltrumite behaviour. Like, the concept of love an caring does not exist in viltrum, even sex is used only for procreation, is not that they refuse those feelings, is that viltrumites literally never experimented them, their only porpouse of their existing is to conquer.
Can anyone explain how the hell he got the upperhand on that old woman viltrimite??? If she's a fifth of nolan's strength then he should be a fifth of her strength. You can't be in Nolan's league and Mark's at the same time.
I'm not sure where you got that fifth of Nolan's strengh thing but that woman was clearly not on Nolan's level as we saw here, Nolan annilihated her in seconds. He could have done the same to Mark if he wanted to. But i believe Mark did got the better of her because he stopped holding back for a while and when not holding back, Mark is stronger than her.
@@FoReStarzZ from the fact that she is able to damage him, basically fully held her own except that he's more skilled and maybe 20% stronger, while mark's full strength to an undefending Nolan's face does not bruise.
@@waldoman7 when Mark was fighting Nolan he basically just got the powers. "You are fighting like you are on Earth" said Nolan to Mark when Mark was getting his ass kicked. Because he knows Mark has lot more strenght but he keeps holding back because he doesnt want to kill. Nolan knows that and noticed it when fighting him on earth: Mark was just trying to stop Nolan instead of going all out and try to kill him. Nolan got some sense in to him that he needs to stop holding back, he stopped holding back as he saw all the deceased Thraxans and then basically started to hold his own against her and winning. That's how i see it atleast.
@@FoReStarzZ i mean sure, it's just that Nolan's ability to destroy a planet gave me an impression of a way higher power than mark who still struggles to move ocean liners
@@FoReStarzZ the real reason is shitty writing. they have no base for how strong Mark is like the comics. the show will always have Mark as strong as necessary for the scene
Thank you for noticing and understanding the correlation between how humans view Thraxan lifespans and how Viltrumites view human lifespans. That perspective sadly seems to go over the heads of too many reactors.
I don't think your ant analogy is correct at all, yes, you could say they have a shorter lifespan, but the difference in intelligence is incomparable. While Nolan and Mark are on the same level intellectually, we can't have a conversation with ants, thus is much more difficult to develop an empathy.
