    I know there will be many comments lamenting the lack of articulation, but for a fully-independent suspension, it has surprisingly good articulation. And seriously, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is insanely capable for a vehicle of its size and a crossover having independent suspension.

    Awesome video! Love seeing the Grand Cherokee where it belongs. I wheeled a 95 Grand Cherokee on 33s for a long time, and just ordered myself a 2017 GC Trailhawk diesel. Cannot wait to get it out and play around.

    I am truly amazed at what I just watched. I cant belive the overall traction it can get from just street tires.

    Well Driven Sir, I have a jeep set up the same way with the air suspension and the QD2, it is very different to drive because the air suspension is quite harsh when at off-road height 2 and if you want to get the best out of the QD2 system it is best to take it a lot slower than you would with most other 4wd's. You have to give those excellent electronics time to work their magic. You drove it spot on.

    Funny how a lot of people believe the Grand Cherokee became a mommy mobile like the Toyota Highlander. Nope, this video proves the Grand Cherokee. We have a Trailhawk also with a Hemi engine. I know it's capable, and one day I will take off-road.

    The GC TrailHawk is amazingly capable with stock tires. It becomes a beast with 33" MT tires.

    just a little bit smoother and constant on the throttle and that GC will go gliding up there. The electronics of this system handles that type of terrain very well.

    These 4x4 systems in the jeeps need some wheel spin to make the decisions to transfer power. Some throttle helps.

      The rear on this trailhawk is a selectable solid full lock. Front is the highly reliable and functional Break locking differential.

    • @rockymountboy
      @rockymountboy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dotustm8926 Incorrect. The TrailHawk has QuadraDrive II (well, II.5, or 1.5 in my opinion). The rear axle is LSD UNTIL the computer decides to lock it. It cannot be manually locked by the Driver. The front axle does not have an LSD, only traction control. That is why I call it 1.5. The WK (the previous generation had QuadraDrive II, and the front axles was the same as the rear - LSD until the computer decided to lock it. I believe there was traction control both front and rear, too.

    Extremely impressed! Great driving great spotting, well done.
    Was this the diesel? I didn't like the lack of wheel articulation, but the drive system handled the wheels in the air with no problems.
    I have the limited (no air lift) and wouldn't even think of this trail. I have had it in thick mud and I wasn't impressed. It didn't get stuck, but I did have to work it hard.
    I may end up with the 2" OME lift. I'm just trying to get the details on it.

      There is a Trailhawk version for 2013 only. Only 2000 were built. It's basically a Laredo with Quadra-drive II and Quadra-lift air suspension, and a host of exclusive cosmetic visuals like the large, matte black hood decal and grey wheels. It also comes with Goodyear Kevlar off-road tires. It can be had with either the Pentastar V6 or HEMI 5.7 just like a normal Grand Cherokee.

      ***** They are actually available in the 3.0crd as well (as this one is), but closer to limited spec than laredo. Also comes with front and rear hooks factory, sliders and skid plates.\

    • @Dcc357
      @Dcc357 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup. Forgot to mention non US spec versions that have that engine. My family actually has a HEMI Trailhawk, and I did notice the thick skid plates and rock rails on the bottom. It was the luckiest find we ever found when buying a new car because it happened to be the last 2013 model on the dealer lot that had an $8000 discount. What a deal! It had a discount because no one bought it for months and 2014 models were already for sale.

      There's very little due to all independent suspension....most modern 4WD's are the same or similar and rely more on Traction Control to get through - The olde Landrover Discovery's had both Live axles and TC which is good.

    Aren't you Guys ashamed of yourselves? Is this what you call Ofroading? This Car is Like a none-stoppable APC Chieftain Mark: It's a WK2 Trailhawk Cherokee with QuadTrack2 System. Just watch this Video and Look what We can make with these Lovely Cars which are crap toys comparing to yours. Then decide yourselves. I'm not a professional Offroader but an amateur enthusiast which could Take Part in these Ruen Competitions for the first time at 2014, and Pass the whole Track with a Citroehn Dyane Acadyan 4*4 (first car visible at 1:52) . Then at 2011 I was not a competitor but just a volunteer Trackholder.
    This is the Problem : Dare or Dare not !!!
