It's been a great journey to watch you two ladies react to my favourite singer/artist. Hua Chenyu put 100% each time to every of his performance. He set a very high standard everytime he on stage, his music is so much connect into audiences emotions as he only compose music whenever he has inspiration. He is a great storyteller through music because he will transform and be part of the music. He also take care of all aspects whenever om stage, he will attend every rehearsal no matter how busy to make sure everything is in control. His music in the early years has lots link to self/inner self/value of life, and he keep progressing each year. He often rearrange his song and give it a new feelings, the Aliens you listen to has at least another 5 or 6 version and you will still find surprises each time he perform. Well if we want to be present in a live show... we have a lot of competition with the *martians* couple of days ago, tickets were on for his Mars Concert 2019 and they sold out the 40,000 tickets in 3 seconds.... The 1st performance Qi Tien was from Singer 2018 and the 2nd performance was from a 2019 variety show which is still ongoing. Both songs were composed by him. He can play quite a few musical instruments,apart from the piano. Flute was the first musical instrument he learned to play when he was only 6 years old and he had completed to grade 10. He played the flute in his 2017 Beijing Concert. It was an awesome performance .

I want to fly to China to see his concert. His Mars concert at the Birds Nest (90,000 seats) sold out in only 1m 56s. I remember reading a comment by one of the audiences that got so close to Hua, she almost died. lol! But Martians know very well that we should have good discipline and touch him. Hua is famous for his lyric-less songs. It's not instrumental, but he uses his voice as an instrument, just gibberish sounds mostly. When he first appeared on a talent contest show in 2013, he explained to the judges that he would sing a song with no real words, like a language from Mars. Since then, his fans have called themselves, Martians. The song, "Alien", could probably be more accurately translated as "Outcast". It's about being non-conforming, not about extra-terrestrial.
Hua doesn’t involved in writing much because he’s paid more attention to composing and arranging songs. The music huahua’s creating is mostly lyricless songs, that is why he’s a musical genius, he knows immediately when or where the music doesn’t sound right. he sees his voice as instrumental. You can see a little of this part of him in “Fake Monk” performance from Singer 2018. There, he opened up about his true self. In "Aliens" he ran to a group of audience and hold up his mic to a certain direction, he chose that group because he recognized them as his Martians by looking at the red ribbon in their hands (even though looks like more than 80% of the audiences are his fans). And he chose to give his mic particularly to a lady wearing red outfit in that group, because we all know he loves red.
Suggest u check out nunchucks if u want to see how he mixed many elements into a 5 mins song.. u wl be shocked. N he won 1st performing this song in the Singer 18. English subtitles is available. As much as I wish he would, Hua is unlikely to perform in the US any time soon. He briefly attended Berklee College of Music in 2017 (no video available from that) and he did some very small music performances as part of a TV Series in 2015 but apart from that he has not performed outside of China. He is very big in China and, living very simply, he does not need the money nor does he crave fame.
Hi, as far as I know he didn't attend to Berkeley in 2017 for a small competition, he went there merely for studying music more. He went there for a show called "Be Idol" but it's around 2015 together with 4 other young singers and competed with them.

Hua is famous for his lyric-less songs. It's not instrumental, but he uses his voice as an instrument, just gibberish sounds mostly. When he first appeared on a talent contest show in 2013, he explained to the judges that he would sing a song with no real words, like a language from Mars. Since then, his fans have called themselves, Martians. The song, "Alien", could probably be more accurately translated as "Outcast". It's about being non-conforming, not about extra-terrestrial.
Hua doesn’t involved in writing much because he’s paid more attention to composing and arranging songs. The music huahua’s creating is mostly lyricless songs, that is why he’s a musical genius, he knows immediately when or where the music doesn’t sound right. he sees his voice as instrumental. You can see a little of this part of him in “Fake Monk” performance from Singer 2018. There, he opened up about his true self. The other side of him that he rarely opened up to, side that was brought by years and years of painful loneliness. Please react to that performance!

In "Aliens" he ran to a group of audience and hold up his mic to a certain direction, he chose that group because he recognized them as his Martians by looking at the red ribbon in their hands (even though looks like more than 80% of the audiences are his fans). And he chose to give his mic particularly to a lady wearing red outfit in that group, because we all know he loves red.
Suggest u check out nunchucks if u want to see how he mixed many elements into a 5 mins song.. u wl be shocked. N he won 1st performing this song in the Singer 18. English subtitles is available.
Next u can go into "Fake Monk ". This performance was very dark n emotional. Another shocking piece.
He loves to shock others on stage lol.

I think as new fans of Hua Chenyu, I recommend holding off on reacting to "Cancer." I was hoping you do "Nunchucks" first - only because it's more of a lighter version of his other music. It's like an introduction into his music, capabilities/versatility. Then one can build up with his more technical and soaring music like Qi Tien, Child, I Don't Care, etc...
The protagonist in the song is the monkey king that is best known in China. He is the protagonist of a Chinese myth novel name Journey To The West written by Wu ChengEn 400 years ago and the novel is the most famous mythological novel in China. This monkey king is also called the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, which is also the origin of the song name. For hundreds of years, this monkey king has been well known and loved by each Chinese people. He has a very rebellious spirit and top-notch force power. In this mythological novel, he defeated the army of the whole heaven by himself. He is also very likely to be the most desirable person that all Chinese people want to become to.
What you said is actually similar to what he personally thinks. “He conducts his voice as if his voice is an instrument” he thinks that a persons voice IS an instrument itself
As much as I wish he would, Hua is unlikely to perform in the US any time soon. He briefly attended Berklee College of Music in 2017 (no video available from that) and he did some very small music performances as part of a TV Series in 2015 but apart from that he has not performed outside of China. He is very big in China and, living very simply, he does not need the money nor does he crave fame.
Hi, as far as I know he didn't attend to Berkeley in 2017 for a small competition, he went there merely for studying music more. He went there for a show called "Be Idol" but it's around 2015 together with 4 other young singers and competed with them.

I'm not a hardcore fan in which I have all these information about him at the top of my head. From reading comments, Hua Chenyu makes it a point to involve his fans/Martians when he does a concert.
