Hey,Jackie-my mom's name, too, well,it was-she passed on.Yes,we watched, too that night-Ed introducing them, then,Here they are...The BEATLES!!!Music was changed forever,Jackie. They are the fathers of modern music and their influence is,of course, still felt everywhere in music and culture.
That's SO crazy to think today 60 years ago, the Beatles first came to America! Both my parents were pre-teens around that time so they remember the whole world watching them live on TV and the rest was history. Thanks for sharing, Jackie!!
I always love your videos so much! Your enthusiasm is infectious, and every time you post a new video I get so excited! :-D Thank you for continuing your awesome channel!
I love the items you showcase in the video. I watched the amazing 'The First US Visit' documentary on 9th. I also have a copy of the 'Eyes Of The Storm' book, but in paperback.🎸🇺🇸
Hello Jackie, nice video. I love the visit to america dvd and ed sullivan. I can't believe it's been 60 years...I started collecting in 1966 and still love their music. take care
You’re the coolest person on TH-cam! I say this because I’m a music history buff guitar player. I had to comment it was the first thing on my TH-cam feed and it made my whole day better. Thank you! ☺️- Thomas
Always nice to see you and your Beatles collection !! I was old enough to see the Beatles when they appeared on the Sullivan show and the anticipation was amazing. It felt like they were coming from another world, and in fact it was to us being so far away. When they came on I magically moved from the couch and sat right in front and was mesmerized by them and never looked back. Still collect however not as much as I did in the late 60's and other years. So enjoy those tribute shows they are great to see. Wish you were in the Massachusetts area to catch a band that I follow called Studio Two, they are great guys and oh so talented !!! Every month in Boston there is a 'Come Together 'show for which I attend monthly and you would love it ! So take good care and catch you next time.
On September 7 1964 at 4 in the afternoon I attended a Beatles concert at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was bedlam - you couldn't hear or see anything from the floor seats and the show was quite short but at least, by gosh - you were there! Lifetime memory!
First off, I really enjoy your presentation. Regarding your t-shirts Beatles tour dates. If you notice there is an off day, being Sept.17. That was the day they played in Kansas City. At the time, the owner of the major league baseball team (The Kansas City A's) got them to play the baseball stadium. I think he paid them $150,000, which at the time was unheard of. Of course I saw this show, I was 11 years old. They played the song Kansas City. I will never forget this ever!
Hey Jackie! I actually just saw 1964:The Tribute a couple weeks ago at the Brown County Music Center. They were GREAT! I know you’ll enjoy the show. The Paul in the show is so spot on when he’s speaking and joking around. Enjoy the show!!
I'm not the kind of person who's subscribed to a ton of Beatle-related YT channels. To me there's Parlogram mainly, very nice documentary style and my TH-cam reference, and there's also yourself. Your take on this anniversary on the side of personal experiences as a fan and memorabilia is a nice complement to last weekend's Parlogram episode on that event. Keep it up!
I'm Australian. I was 3yrs old when The Beatles first toured America, but I didn't actually catch on to them until The Beatles cartoon came out here. I became a huge fan of that show and the glorious music. Oddly, if you grew up on that show, you probably thought Ringo was the funny one 🤗 Still, it wasn't until they were announcing the break-up that I started realising the Fab Four were the real version of the cartoon. That blew my mind. So, I've been a Beatles' fan for about 53-55yrs now. My point is, Jackie has one of the best memorabilia collections I've ever seen. She has so many beautiful and seemingly rare pieces that every showing is a bit of a drool-fest for me. I could watch examinations of her collection all day. Amazing. 😎😎
I stayed in the Beatle room... at the Deauville hotel on Miami Beach.. about 10 years ago.. It happened by accident. I was like... Why are there so many pictures of the Fab Four on the walls.. 😂 When I checked out.. I stopped by the ballroom.. An image in my head popped up of them playing This Boy in that very room.. The Deauville closed down a few years ago 😞
I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering if you were going to put up a video. Enjoyed the video and it sounds like you have some more good videos coming up soon so I'm looking forward to those. Happy Beatles Anniversary!
I remember watching the Sullivan Show with my family. I was knocked out! I Wanted a Guitar, I wanted to let my hair grow long. I got a guitar, but I had to settle for a Beatle Wig. I'll never forget what my Dad said, (and what everybody's Dad said,} "They Look Like A Bunch Of Girls!!!!" The black & white world of the early 60's was now in Technicolor!
You kinda look like you fit in with the girls from back then. You have a '60's girl look.Only.thing missing are the cat's eye glasses that were a big deal in the early-mid '60's!
Love an Elliott Smith mention. BTW, "I Did Not Understand" is so heavily reminiscent of Because. I'm nearly positive the harmony vocals in particular are a conscious tribute, so there's even a connection.
Yes for sure! Elliot quoted the Beatles (especially george harisson) as his biggest inspiration! He also made a cover of Because, its really good@@BilisNegra
Thank you Beatles. Fantastic content and information.
I was 16 when I saw them on EdSullivan. The Beatles music is timeless! Thank you for sharing!

"The Complete Ed Sullivan Shows" with "the Beatles" show how their impact quickly spread to all the other performers from the second appearance on.

I saw the 1964 band back in about 1999 or 2000 in the Boston area. They were great! The Fab Four are great too. I hope you enjoy the shows.

I also bought the Sullivan DVDs, but never got around to watching the entire shows 😂.

Change of subject, but wasn’t now and then such a beautiful song. John Lennon Paul McCartney truly geniuses. Am I right?
