    I love that it’s an “old” ship that, with its minor updates, remains timeless as ever. Love the hybrid sailing-steel nature of its design. Portholes are just where it’s at sometimes. And on a cruise to some historic places, it provides a sense of the way centuries old explorers experienced these islands.
    Also. I’m going to steal that opening introduction.

    I agree. I havent been on Wind Spirit but I have been on Windsurf for a total of 36 days in 2023. 18 days in the Caribbean and 18 from Venice to Rome. I have 3 more Windstar trips planned one from Lisbon to Rome on Windsurf, called The Surf, and one on Windsprit,. Barbados through a canal and up through Panama and finally on The Breeze to Tahitti. In my opinion these ships are the most beautiful and the most fun. What i really like about the is the very friendly atmosphere on the ships between the passengers and the crew and the passengers and each other. There is also an interesting eclectic mix of people on board. I have been on several other cruise lines and in fact have two additional cruises planned on other small ships but Windstar is my favorite.

      I think because reading you can do it at your own pace and suggest the words and convert. Speaking means it’s so fast you’re still trying to grasp the first words by the time the speaker is on the tenth.

    Just returned from this cruise. It was fabulous!
    I have cruised with WindStar previously in the Mediterranean ( there is nothing like sailing into Malta!) and this was a similar experience. Large room, delicious food, awesome staff, and a wide variety of activities available via "excursions" like snorkeling, scuba, biking, 4-wheeling, shopping.
    Wear a bathing suit all day, hang out in the pool or the swimming area right off the back of the ship.

    Hadn’t seen this video before - did Papeete to Sydney on Oceania in 2019, stayed a few days in Sydney, and it was lovely! Don’t think Windstar is as good for solos, though. Polynesia truly is a paradise!

      It’s still one of our favourite ever destinations and we loved the Wind Spirit, such a charming little ship. I do remember there were a couple of single ladies (one of whom we got quite friendly with so she joined us to eat a few times) but not sure how Windstar are with solo fares, get together etc???

    Absolutely love your vlogs. Going to the South Pacific next year for my 60th. Now. Seriously considering Windstar although I just love a balcony so we wil see. Just as a guide can you give a guide costing including all flights, hotels and cruise? I think it would help so many people who would benefit from knowing how much they need to up the CC limit..😁
    Thanks

    • @visitwithus
      @visitwithus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cost will depend where you are coming from and what package you choose. Coming from the UK is obviously more expensive than US and Air Tahiti flights are not cheap! Windstar also do an all inclusive package and hotel add ins so these will all add to the cost as well. Honestly there are so many variables that it’s hard to put a cost on it. But being as remote as it is it’s hard to do it on a budget.
      Thanks for your kind words and for watching 👍

    I'm doing my 1st Windstar cruise with the Star pride at the end of this month! I said i'd never cruise again after my last cruise on the norwegian epic 1st cruise was Freedom of the seas I got kind of sick from the food on the boat lets call it digestive issues it took 3 hours or more to get ON and OFF the Norwegian epic definitely felt like Cattle those days. I hope this ship is the right fit for us.

    I went on the Paul Gauguin 20 years ago and it was my first cruise. I can't believe it's been 20 years.
    I did a post cruise at the Le Meridian (now closed) and had the over the water bungalow. The prices on Tahiti for an over the water bungalow was a fraction of what they go for on the other islands. A great value and had a view of Moorea.
    I'm kind of torn between going on the Windstar Tall Ship vs like the Star Legend because of the significant difference in room sizes. The tall ship is unique but the rooms are small.

    • @visitwithus
      @visitwithus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We’d love to go back for another cruise and more island stays, it’s all so beautiful.
      The tall ship is a unique and romantic experience but like you say we love the Star class ships (their rooms, entertainment, restaurants etc) so would probably go on a star class if we were to sail there with Windstar again. But we are saying that from the very privileged position of having experienced the magnificent Wind Spirit which is just such a joy to be on in these amazing island 🤩

    @4:24 Yeah, I made a couple of critical errors on our trip, the first was booking the cruise part (on Windstar of course) and then letting the wife book the rest of it (you know you're in trouble when Amex calls to ask why I am buying a resort on Bora Bora and did I know they have a dedicated team to help with that, for a fee...) and the second bigger mistake was when ordering a burger at the resort (I think I bought) I made the mistake of saying "yes please" when asked if I would like cheese on said burger......Okay TH-cam quiz, guess how much the slice of cheese was (in US $).
