    I have both the Brompton and Pikes Gen 2, and still prefer my Pikes Gen 2. Value for money and just need to make some upgrades such as tires, seatpost, pedals, and saddle.

    *Only reason I didn't get the Brompton is because I like hydraulic disc brakes and Brompton doesn't support them. There's an aftermarket disc brake kit for this bike but it costs around $1500 and you have the replace the forks and rear triangle. I'm satisfied with my $400 Trek foldie that I've updraded to Shimano DURACE.*

      Foldie with dura ace?! That’s mad setup!

    Oval Chain ring... What is this? Not exactly round... Any body affirm what i observe here.

    • @HengChooChian
      @HengChooChian  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s chainring spec that says to increase pedal efficiency. I’m haven’t try myself personally so I have no comment for this

    Pikes gen4 costs around SDG $950 in Singapore. Is it worth ? It comes with M or S bar. I thought of getting one. Not sure whether suitable for kid around 1.3 m height ?

    • @HengChooChian
      @HengChooChian  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will suggest for a test ride at the bike shop if you can access. As I’m not sure if it fit 1.3m teen

      @@HengChooChian thanks. Yes, best to bring my grandson along to try on. Also let him try the fnhon gust, probably easier for him to handle.

    Which would be your preference foldable bikes comparing between Pikes & Fnhon Gust? Which one you prefer more and why? Thks.

    • @HengChooChian
      @HengChooChian  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally I prefer Gust as the gear system and maintenance are much more straight forward

    My experience after 3 months with Pikes
    1. Immediate upgrade to rear suspension, seatpost and pedal. Since the owner of the bike is overweight, the upgrading is essential to ensure for smooth riding
    2. Not all part of the bike is fix to the Pikes. Although the Pikes almost similar to the Brompton,it doesn't mean you can't plug and play the same part or accessories. For instance, you may buy aceoffix rear derailleur specially designated for Brompton but somehow to scrap off a bit before you mount into the bike nicely.
    3. Gear shifting - the most common issue that I listened and experiencing as Pike user is external shifter. You have to check with cabling system once your bike is unfolded and before you begin to ride.
    Anyhow, I still love the bike and hope to buy another one soon in the future..

    How to paddle when start which gear , little bromie

    • @HengChooChian
      @HengChooChian  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Brompton internal gear hub will need to stop peddling when you are shifting which is a uncommon way compare to derailleur setup

      From what I know both are same just that Paikesi is for indonesia market and Pikes is for Taiwan or other countries.

    • @HengChooChian

      Very upright and surprisingly stable. Probably due to the long wheelbase
