I use Sharesies regularly and one thing I'd like Sharesies to include is fx fees as part of amount put in (for overseas invester). Because it is the cost of buying the investment. The real return should be calculated taking in account transaction fee as well as the fx fee. Since fx fee is charged at 0.5% of nzd amount put against the overseas investment, the return displayed on your portfolio isn't completely true as it excludes fx fees, in order to get the "actual" return you have to calculate manually. I wish Sharesies can make this easier?
Sharesies is my favourite platform, I have been investing for 20 years and I always wanted a platform with no minimum purchase and fractional shares for the U.S market, As an Australian it's also been great having access to the New Zealand market... I'll be with sharesies for as long as they offer these things
Hello I am currently with Hatch however am thinking of investing in sharesies due to you offering the availability of investing in local companies that we love and are passionate in rather than investing in overseas companies solely for the purpose of seeing that higher return however being taxed 33% at the end of it for both foreign tax as well as local tax where as local tax would only be around 17%, however as I recall one is only taxed on the first 5% of their entire portfolio, please correct me if I'm wrong. Fee's wise, the higher the deposit and shares bought/sold Hatch is cheaper however I think that having that availability to invest in the local markets as well as the Australian markets is a premium and well worth it, especially tax wise which I assume at the end of it means more profit on our end. Regarding investing in US stocks, it's basically the same as Hatch save for Sharesies percentage fee vs Hatch's flat rate fee, but perhaps this will change in the future whereas Sharesies will change to a flat rate brokerage fee, the question im wondering now is that if Hatch offers transfers out of Hatch to another brokerage like Sharesies (In this case it's sharesies ofc), if you read this, thank you lol.
Hi, currently, you can only transfer shares you own in companies and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX). We hope to make it possible to transfer shares held in Australian and US investments in time! You can find out more info about tax here-intercom.help/sharesies/en/articles/1399438-tax And info about our fees here-intercom.help/sharesies/en/articles/813634-fees If you have any other specific questions you would like help with please get in touch with our investor Care team help@sharesies.co.nz
the only thing that i don't like about sharesies is the price action is delayed by 20mins. i mean how hard is it to show live prices when the markets are open.
Hey, thanks for your feedback! Totally appreciate that live prices would be helpful, we may look into this a bit more in the future. For now, prices do have the 20 min delay, if you would like to see "live" prices for NZ shares, you could check out our market depth add-on. intercom.help/sharesies/en/articles/3771575-nzx-market-depth
Hey, we don't currently have a mobile app but you can add the web app to your home screen and it operates just like an app. intercom.help/sharesies/en/articles/816175-is-there-a-sharesies-app
I have some AMC shares and I would like my APE dividend put into my account asap please. This is wrong that you are withholding them for this long so we can’t start trading them Could you please let me know when I can expect them. It is very bad customer service that I am having to get an answer to my missing shares by putting a comment in a post like this. It makes your company look untrustworthy.
Hi Todd, they should be showing in your account now. We were going through the settlement process yesterday and had not received the APE shares from our broker yet. As soon as we received them they were allocated to your Sharesies account. Cheers!
Very useful for beginners!

Hey, we only offer transfers for NZX shares currently, we hope to offer transfers from other exchanges in the future.

Save hard and enjoy the fruit later.
The money saved in your bank account looses value. Investments can make it grow on the long run.
