A look at the best hidden beach in Mexico, Playa Agua Blanca. Hello from Mexico and the Southern Coastal Region in the State of Oaxaca. In this area lies one of Mexico’s secret, off the grid beach towns Playa Agua Blanca.
Playa Agua Blanca or Beach of White Water is located off of Carretera 200 just 35 km east of Puerto Escondido. Playa Agua Blanca is famous for its wonderful food, ocean rock pools and its intermediate to advanced level surfing spots. It’s a short drive off of the Carretera 200 exiting at km marker 172. From there is roughly 2 km to the beach front and some of the best beach restaurants in Mexico. This beach town is a perfect spot for children and adults to swim and play in the ocean just inside the large rock formations just off the beach. Playa Agua Blanca has grown in the last 5 years and now boasts 20 traditional beach restaurants along the western beach front road. Most are constructed with palapa roofs with sand floors. Known for some of the best oysters and shrimp, Playa Agua Blanca is one of the rare locations in the area with some of the comforts beach travelers enjoy. Expect to pay under 200 pesos for a great meal and 30 pesos for a cerveza. Get here early or late and enjoy the unobstructed Sunrise or sunset from an area that is unique to view both from the beach. Soft sand with very gentle slopes allows for some of the best beach walks around. Most restaurants offer high speed Wi-Fi, beach chairs and tables. Some offer umbrellas and loungers but please remember to spend some money at their restaurant to have this privilege. If you drive in without the intention of eating at one the beach side restaurants there are a number of small convenient stores just off the beach road to purchase what you need for an enjoyable day. If you choose to stay a little longer there are a couple hotels in the center, a boutique hotel just recently completed on the east side of the beach road and a number of wonderful beach homes and Casitas for rent. One of our favorites is Beachfront Paradise Boutique Hotel on the east side of the main beach road.,
