Hello Dereck, it was only Agnetha in the verses. She recorded two voices for the second verse which were blended in the final mix. Thanks to her great singing ability she was able to make herself sound slightly like a child in the second voice (which struck you).

Of course they do multitrack of their voices. But Agnetha and Frida are famous for their voices come together and create a "third voice" I guess that often is when they shared a lead like Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia etc...

Since you are reviewing The Visitors album there is a track which was recorded during the sessions for The Visitors album which did not make the final cut but has subsequently been included on reissues of the album called “Should I Laugh or Cry” which I would suggest you do a reaction video for. Also from “The Visitors” album is the song “One of Us” which I highly recommend as well. Finally, this song is not on “The Visitors” album (it’s on the “Super Trouper”) but you really should do a reaction video for it “The Winner Takes It All”. I’d really love to see your reaction. The girls both had the ability to make their voices tiny. But it was Frida and Agnetha doing vocals. THe live version they did, they recreated this to an extent. Bjorn and Agnetha have a son and daughter. The daughter LInda was going off to school when Bjorn noticed her growing up before his eyes, and all the time he missed. Christian, the son, hadn't started school yet.
So very very beautiful. and no, there was no other voice on this. Agnetha did this all with her voice ( and Frida in the chorus, for sure). Also a very emotional moment in the first mamma mia movie.
There was Definately no 3rd singer used, the only ABBA song that has other vocalists used is I Have A Dream. Anna and Bjorn had 2 children together 1 boy and 1 girl.

There were no other singers on the track only Agnetha & Frida. I’m pretty sure the verse beginning “Sleep in our eyes...” is only Agnetha singing but twice through if you get my meaning. Also the track was written about Agnetha & Bjorn’s daughter Linda who was around 8 when Bjorn wrote the lyrics detailing how she was growing up so fast. I hope that helps! Dereck you must check out "I've Been Waiting for You" . It's not a well known ABBA song but, as a long time ABBA fan, I think it's one of their best. There is a video for the song and a live version from ABBA The Movie.

Beautiful and touching lyrics by Björn Ulvaeus about his and Agnetas daughter. I don't know for sure but I believe it is their daughter singing at one point. I know that she and her mum have made some recordings (christmas songs) together.
Personally I think you'd be hard pressed to find better songwriters than ABBA. This is one of my favourites. I highly recommend listening to The Winner Takes It All. It's widely regarded as one of their best songs and is in my opinion probably the most perfectly constructed - both lyrically and musically - pop songs ever written.

Musicologists tend to rave about Agnetha and Frida's ability to tweak their voices so as to sound more like girls, when the song so required, even though they were in their 30s for most of ABBA's career - which is what Agnetha did for the harmony vocal in the second verse. That ability also added to making ABBA's vocal stacks sound so rich.
Frida and Agnetha could both sing with a childlike voice. ABBA did the the same thing that the Carpenters did. Karen and Richard did all their own backing vocals and ABBA did the same. A Beatles vibe could be because according to both Bjorn and Benny the Beatles were they reason they decided to start writing songs as a team.
Are you listening the whole album?. For me , this is the best album of Abba. I´m Spanish, and this song is in Spanish at the spanish edition of this album.

Linda was born in February 1973 & the track was recorded in 1981 so that makes her 8 but you’re right neither child performed on any ABBA track only on Agnetha’s solo work outside of the group 😁

No. That was Frida. Hahaha. ABBA's vocals are contributed only by the four members except for one song, I have a Dream where there is a choir of children.

The title is in Swedish, but in this case it isn't as important as with many other songs. Anni-Frid sings in it by the way. Since you're on a bit of an Abba crusade. If you want to try something different, and by that I mean all together other than pop-disco. Have a look at Benny Anderssons Klinga mina klockor. The title is in Swedish, but in this case it isn't as important as with many other songs. Anni-Frid sings in it by the way.
