Lisa, I'm an English Education major and I have read Doerr's book for my Themes in Literature course. I don't know how old you are, but your presentation of the book makes me feel that you have received literary analysis training. This is the first TH-cam channel that I come across that actually does the job of looking at a text beyond the surface level. Thanks.
WOW! thank you so much for your kind words - it means a lot! This book was truly a gem to analyse. I've got no formal training, just studied English/Literature in high school and have just kept up my knowledge through tutoring :)
@@vcestudyguidesonline I would have never thought that you weren't at least studying English lit at university- this video helps me so much with my literature oral exam (in the Netherlands)!
Admittedly my fav text. Had to cut the end short because of copyright issues! Leave in the comments below your thoughts - what's the significance of the changing perspectives in All the Light We Cannot See?
I’m curious about the copyrights issues. Were they clips from a movie or some big company? Thoroughly enjoyed the analysis. Best one on YT for this book, IMO. You got a new subscriber.
0:54 this is just a little nitpick but I think it's so funny that you gave Marie-Laure light blonde hair she gave Werner dark brown hair. His hair is described as being so light that it's almost off putting! It's basically white
Wow! You slayed Literature Classes. I'm a Filipino, and I've just finished reading the novel today. All I can say, it gripped me and swept me away. All characters were introduced and threaded into the ending seamlessly. I sighed after reading the whole book, like damn dude, she survived the fucking Nazi war and the evil gemstone. Thank you for this. It reminds me I am not alone in the world reading this book. Should be read by all!
I just read this book, but I cannot figure out what the author’s meaning of the work as a whole is. Could you help me out? And what literary elements were used?
Hi there, thanks for your comment! This blog post might help you to further your understanding of Doerr's meaning and the literary devices in this text (including symbols): www.vcestudyguides.com/blog/all-the-light-we-cannot-see-by-anthony-doerr. You might also find it helpful to consider what Doerr is saying about certain themes, as this will give you an insight into what his broader intention/meaning might be! Hope this helps :)
I am actually at 300ish page and still not interested because the plot is pretty boring and the words are written in a very extensive vocabulary which is pretty tough to go a little fast and finish this huge book like any other one. When I started, I thought it'll be similar and enjoyable to the novel 1984, but it was completely different.

simp.
Cooper Young just because a man is complimenting a woman doesn’t make them a “simp”. The bar is so low

@@mikeymex_kinda Oh it had to do with music copyright, not the animations. We create the animations ourselves :)
@@vcestudyguidesonline music copyrights can be tricky. Regardless, love the animations and the content!
Best novel I've ever read! Beautiful story. I regularly listen to "Claire De Lune" as a result.

Amazing video, I was just wondering what page is the "Tend to [the machines] the way worker bees might tend to a queen" quote from.
I read off a kindle I'm sorry :( So I don't have the page number :(

Did your editor not know Werner had white hair? lol
Hahaha nah, she can't keep up with all the books I cover unfortunately!
Werver have white hair right?
Watch this video explode bcause of Netflix
But Werner's hairs were white
You create the animations yourselves and you gave Werner dark hair… it must say “white hair” about 36 times throughout
Werner has white hair
