Another thoughtful and informative video. Seems to be much cheaper to collect Hot Toys in US as we in UK have to add 20% VAT. A figure that costs $250 in the States is $300 here. Never had a problem buying from eBay in UK.
I feel bad for people in UK, Ireland, and Canada. You need to pay Sideshow's inflated shipping prices + VAT tax. We in the USA are probably heading this way with potential tariffs (a shadow VAT).
Arent the upcoming Tariffs going to really hurt US companies like Sideshow? Collectors living ouside the US may want to start sourcing figures from outside America to save in 2025
I bought most of my collection second hand, through good Facebook groups (with PayPal protection etc) I’ve saved so much money and have never had a problem.
Great guide here Will I know I would have loved this when I started out collecting. I didn't know about that site that sells parts so that's extremely helpful.
Me personally i have bought a majority of my figures used as i scored some crazy deals. Another tip with sideshow, if there is something you want like a preorder. Register for all events on the calendar at once to quickly add up short term rewards
I've gotten my only two Hot Toys figures used and at great deals. I got Dark World Loki for like $135 and Age of Ultron Hawkeye for $160 and both are in excellent condition. But I can understand that not all used figures are in good condition.
All great points! I can’t stress enough how right you are about having enough patience to not purchase at first batch prices! I had both the Wandavision Scarlet Witch and Falcon and the Winter Soldier version of Captain America on preorder through sideshow but when they were released, the hype got to me and cancelled those POs and bought them at Toys Wonderland where I got Cap for about $490 and Wanda for about $420. They’re excellent figures and I still have and love them to this day but I could’ve saved some serious money if I waited and probably even more money considering how much they’re worth now on the secondary market. Needless to say, all of my necessary POs are only through Sideshow from now on!
Awesome video brother!! Your advice and knowledge is always appreciated! Thank you for putting this and all your videos together! I know its hard work and it is appreciated by us all!! Strong work! 💪🏻
Yeah. They scammed my 10K$… but I refund it with PayPal but it’s been a year my 1.8K$ remains and never returned and Friendly Reminder: (( I Check them every time, they changed their Identity and now they call them selves ToysApollo))
I got a video coming. I'm making on them on what they did to me . I knew better , but I needed these 2 older figures, and well 😂 I guess my video will say. But damn I knew better . But definitely don't with those fockerz
Yup. I got shafted by toyswonderland, even after quite a lot of easy purchases with zero issues. For awhile, I couldn’t see what people were talking about because I never once had a problem for at least a few years. Ooooooooohhhh buddy was I wrong.
For me I'm not quick on the draw when it comes to purchasing a 6 scale figure that I like only when it is something that I really really want and I believe and I keep a monitor on how customers are buying if it is on a low stock or soon to be on waitlist then I would purchase or maybe I will just let it go and take my chances with weightless but also I make sure not to just buy a side show alone I also look at other places like eBay or underground to see how much they will have for it and maybe I could get it for more cheaper area not to mention I keep a monitor on my rewards points and to me discounting them as much as you can as well as those coupon codes and special deals are very helpful when it comes to buying some of these figures cuz if you can't get a better deal spending less especially when you want to have a big collection it is a very good thing and with the way how these prices are going to $400 to $600 where it is a vehicle or a deluxe set it is very important to try your best not to break the bank
Strategy #6: Shoplift. Just kidding! Thanks for the tips! I usually get my stuff from Sideshow for their 5% rewards, customer service, and I normally get them delivered the next day because I'm in the LA area. However, even though shipping averages $14, I have to pay sales tax.

I am a Covid collector, so I feel new still…

We'll see! I'm not sure what will happen

Just DON'T BUY from Toys Wonderland. It will be your biggest mistake.

Be careful! I think they switched their name to toys Apollo

Mandarake JP is a good one to buy used figures in really good condition with a great price

@@stevesshowcase Good luck stealing something that large out of a shopping center or mall with tons of security guards and cameras
Usefull video, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I regret paying full price + shipping for many 2020-23 Star Wars figures.
I bought half my collection from used. No need to pay tax and it's half the price of the retail.
nice! Good grabs then!
Fer sure check used figure sellers, check reviews and start with a few low price items, see how it goes.
Dang, I totally forgot about popcultcha. I haven’t used them since 2016 back when they would get con exclusive Funko pop .
Couldn’t find pop culture. What is the website?
Popcultcha
Anyone know any coupons for Popcultcha?
Will. Why you didn't let know us about pop culture before jejeje. I could've saved more money.
Here’s a strategy on saving money buying Hot Toys: Don’t. 🤪
Honestly this should be #1 lol
😂 I’ve tried this and it’s sooo hard!! Im like the fly from a bugs life!
Don’t look at the light! “I can’t help it”
@@Adamjt10 Every collector can relate to that haha
