I've been listening to him the whole week, how fun to find this reaction today! He is amazing, I found him through Dimash.
I must have watched hundreds if not thousands of reaction videos of Nunchucks in the past five years. I must say this is the most comprehensive and the best analysis of the song. It's a really great analysis of the application of vocal techniques and the mixing of various genres to the arrangement of the song. I am glad that you mentioned the change in vocal quality at the beginning part as a preparation for the rock part. Some past reactors thought of that as an imperfection in vocal technique. You also noticed the change in the accompaniment of the rock band when he sang the Bejing opera part the second time. There are many such subtle changes throughout the song all for the expression of the theme: Nunchucks are flexible yet tough, it's softness mixed with toughness. I think the reason that the mix of genres blends seamlessly is that the genres are not thrown together aimlessly, instead, they are purposefully weaved together to express the main idea of flexibility mixed with toughness. The rap and hard rock parts are for expressing toughness, and the Beijing Opera (traditional Chinese) is for expressing softness. In the first part of Beijing Opera, the rock band didn't mix with it. but in the second round, Bejing Opera is mixed with the rock band, expressing the development of the "mixing" process of the two. I would highly recommend "Seven Personalities", "Madhouse", "When the Whole Worlds Forgets Me", and "Illusion and Reality" as the most representative works composed by himself on his albums 4 and album 5. Looking forward to your reactions.
I also appreciated that Jack noted that "in the second round, Bejing Opera is mixed with the rock band, expressing the development of the "mixing" process of the two". For me it's always been like the band is playing one genre of music while Hua sings a different genre of music and it blends so well! I've never heard any other reactor/vocal coach mention it.

My personal favourite is Seven Personalities, which is also very diverse as genres. He's a brilliant composer and quite gifted singer. I love his music, because it is always something fresh and unexpected!

Le regole dello show di quell'anno erano tali che poteva usare solo due delle sue canzoni, e il resto delle sue spettacoli doveva essere per coprire le canzoni. Questa canzone era originale dell'artista cinese Jay Chou, ma era solo rap, e HCY l'ha riorganizzata come si vede qui. Da questo programma sono disponibili diverse altre prestazioni che mostrano la sua capacità di comporre e ricomporre musica esistente. Se si è interessati a vedere ancora di più il suo talento riguardo alla riorganizzazione delle canzoni, le sue prestazioni in un programma intitolato "The Next" durante le stagioni 2016 e 2017. Ha anche gareggiato sulla versione 2020 di "Singer". Con una o due eccezioni, le canzoni che ha eseguito durante il suo aspetto quell'anno erano interamente sue composizioni e rispecchiavano la maturità delle sue capacità di scrittura sonora nei due anni successivi. Hua Chenyu’s remake of the song, “Dad I’m Home” is a performance not to be missed. Please listen to it with translations and tissues. It is a simple but very emotional song. I hope to see your reaction to this song and have a wider audience get to know this talented human being.
This is his arrangement of a rap song. The hand gestures from Chinese opera are called "orchid fingers". A couple of other Hua Chenyu performances on Singer 2018 - "Child", and "Fake Monk" . If you go to the Hua Chenyu Eng. Subs channel for "Fake Monk", there is a pre -show interview which goes into how his childhood relates to that song. A couple of other performers on Singer 2018 - KZ Tandingan, who's unique arrangement of "Rolling in the Deep" won Episode 5, and Tengri (or Tengger) from Inner Mongolia, who's "Heaven" on Episode 7 shows some extreme dynamic control, and starts out with some Mongolian throat and harmonic overtone singing.

Truly, the Singer show in China is the best top tier music show out there! Amazing singers and musical arrangements all on point. It introduced me to genius singers like Hua Chenyu and Dimash. Ciao, ci stupiamo del fatto che non conosciamo gli artisti asiatici.....ma da più di 30 anni abbiamo un mezzo tesoro nazionale (lei è metà italiana) di nome LARA FABIAN considera da tutti gli addetti ai lavori una delle migliori vocaliste di sempre, scrive canzoni, (anche per Dimash) parla 5 lingue e ha cantato almeno in 12 lingue e a volte aiuta a comporre la musica delle canzoni che scrive......e in italia 80% delle persone non sa' chi è. hua è un mito. Ti consiglio anche KZ Tandigam , sempre su The singer, con la cover di Rolling in the deep , ti lascierà a bocca aperta, anche Say something,sublime. To me, no other can beat the level that Dimash and Hua Hua are at! Dimash may be the best singer but Hua Hua is definitely the best performer! They both are musical genius’s in their own right and levels above all the others!
