Yes, he was inaccurate on a few throws. Yes, two of his passes got batted at the line. But wow... what a game by Murray. He just willed that whole offense and OU back into the game. That game justifies his Heisman status. I will say that he needs to work on making quicker decisions overall, but when Alabama blitzed him on 3rd down in the second half, he knew exactly where to go and where the defense was weak. That shows his high football IQ. It is a shame that his receivers dropped a few easy passes. I think this game shows that Murray has definite translatable skills to the NFL and with proper coaching and film, he could be an above-average QB in the league. Kyler's arm strength and release are criminally underrated and overlooked because of the bullshit about his height and ability to run like Vick. I just wish his personality and outward passion were a bit more like Baker. That Dan Patrick interview rubbed me the wrong way but fuck it, the dude can ball
For all we know he was doing all the things that lengthen the spine/fill up discs with fluid. Or maybe he has a pointy head under the hair. Or maybe the hair kept the tape 1/4 inch above his head. I think his small hands, short arms, and narrow shoulders are a bigger problem.
JV, You’re an idiot. For starters the hand size measurement method is somewhat flawed. They measure from pinky to thumb. This “rewards” guys with wide palms (Kyler) and “punishes” guys with longer than wide palms (Big Ben). Despite the fact that guys with long palms tend to have long fingers (Aaron Rodgers) 9.5” is the number I’m seeing for Kyler, yet I’m seeing about 10” for Big Ben. But, you should use google and look at some pictures of various QB hands. Look at the ball in their hands- ARod makes the ball look small, yet his hands are only a bit bigger on the measurement than Kyler’s. Kyler’s fingers look short. It also looks like his pinky bends out at a funny angle which would help his measurement (broken/dislocated along the way-?) Kyler is all palm. Your comment about his hands being bigger than average proves your stupidity. Look up the numbers.
@Cody as I said in the previous post, the hand measurement isn’t perfect because it doesn’t take long fingers into account. ARodgers has huge hands, but measured somewhere around 10,” only .5” bigger than Kyler. But just look up pictures of ARodg holding the ball. Kyler has big palms and short fingers. I also found a picture that looks like his pinky bends at a strange angle that easily gives an extra .25-.5.” Look up pictures of Baker and Kyler holding the ball. Baker’s hands are clearly bigger. Does it matter? Maybe, maybe not, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Kyler struggles with accuracy when he has to hurry throws vs NFL defense. P.S. the shrugging emoji really makes you look like a teenage girl.
Marco Polo Clemson’s secondary couldn’t handle Juedy at all one on one. Clemson can’t handle Lamb either if they played one on one. Clemson used covers that fooled Tua and their corners read the play before it even happened. Clemson’s d line makes things so much easier for their secondary
Clemson’s secondary benefited from their D-Line and game plan. Their defensive coordinator designed special zone plays to fool Tua into throwing incomplete passes or interceptions. Clemson’s secondary got torched every time they played man so they switched to zone defense. Not only that but Tua only had about 2-3 seconds to throw the ball in the pocket which gave Clemson’s secondary a huge benefit. There were some plays where Clemson knew exactly what was gonna happen. At the end of the day Jeudy had 5 receptions for 139 yards and a touchdown. Take away that zone coverage and Jeudy easily gets a 200 yard game. It’s ok though. Clemson loses 33 Seniors and 4 Juniors. They also lose 7 starters from their defense. We’ll see what happens when Bama plays them again this year.
This is what you can expect from a Lincoln Riley coached team. Just never prepared to start a big game. Look really good against so so competition but falls apart against the big dogs.
OU was without its 2nd best player Marquise Brown and it was a big factor in why OU lost because when healthy (he obviously was hurt and shouldn't have played) he stretches the field and routinely makes at least 2-3 catches of 20+ yards. The game Murray had would have been much better if Brown was healthy.
Sad to see Kyler go, but man, it's hard not to get excited for this year's versions of Ceedee Lamb, Grant Calcaterra, and Kennedy Brooks. The vision Brooks has to make the move at 10:25 is fantastic. Also, he throws some really solid and well placed blocks. Brooks Was Here.
Good game from Kyler, although he didn't handle the pressure all that well and it absolutely didn't look like he was used to it. He'll get a lot more of that in this coming year in the NFL. I think he can be a great quarterback but it's going to be a learning experience in the beginning
Two straight first round picks on QBs sets your team back quite a bit. Rosen has maybe 4th round pick trade value. 1st round defensive picks are a much safer bet, and they tend to be close to peak ability well before the time the team option 5th year happens. After adjusting to the defense on the first four drives he dominated, if they restarted the game Oklahoma probably wins. Murray is the best runner and passer in the draft
I see why Alabama was lucky in this game as their fans claim. Murray didn't have no receivers but lamb which is why jalen mainly threw it to him the season after. Plus Oklahoma didn't have a good defense.
With the right o.c and system this kid can be a problem. Outside the pocket he will make d linemen pass out over the span of 4 qrts. That's alot of pursuit drills.
his style of play has a short shelf life in the NFL. I don't think he can throw it like Russell Wilson so I wouldnt compare them. He's closer to the guy in Baltimore right now. It works great on a video game, not so great in real life, where the hits are felt.
Interesting to look back at this after Murray went #1 in the draft. I intensely dislike Bama, but the elephants crushed OU and Murray here. I wish Murray could have won, but he just isn’t as good as the hype. He looks good against Big 12 teams who don’t do defense. He looked sad against Bama. He’s got heart and he can run when no one is accounting for him because they know he won’t go too far. He didn’t give up. He’s a fighter. I’m pessimistic about his career as #1 draft pick, but wish him all the best.
This was not a Kyler Murray highlight film but it wasn't all his fault. When a LB blitzes throw to the hole he leaves. Simple and straight forward but Oklahoma's offense did not put a receiver in the spot.
i dont see why he is rated #1. he breaks down on the pass too early, his passes come out from a low trajectory so it makes it tough to make intermediate throws over LB or slots. Most of his short passes will be lobs due to his height and having to throw over the dline in NFL. I just don't see it.
If the dude struggles in college, imagine whats gonna happen in the NFL, remember when he was at Texas A and M he had 5 td passes and 7 picks the only good year he ever had was 2018 college season. Hes overrated, all I saw in this video was him just running and forcing passes into 4 men coverages and really doesn't look like he can survive, id choose Drew Lock over him and Dwayne Haskins
@@blackbarsch3654 Same. He went against an incredible array of future NFL first and second rounders and after the initial shellshock, he he adjusted and handled himself very well. While the players in the NFL are better, Murray will have better teammtes as well. He'll be fine.
Falling short? More like never in the game to begin with . they never were within 10 of Bama. I’m not a fan of either team but cmon this was not a close game by any means.
He didn't look too fast in this game, his throw was a wounded duck, and he struggled throwing to covered receivers. Quinnen Williams almost killed him. First round pick? That's crazy talk. First overall? Insanity.
College QBs get to make a lot of throws with a several yard wide pocket. Just look up Kyler’s season highlights on TH-cam. I think his accuracy flatlines when he has to throw quickly. I think his hand and arm size are part of it. His wingspan is shorter than his height. His arms are about 2” shorter than RWilson’s. There are stretches that can increase your height and hand size temporarily. Water can get your weight a lot higher in a hurry. The hand measurement is also flawed (pinky to thumb) because a guy like Rodgers with a long hand and fingers who can clearly wrap his hand most of the way around the ball has an average NFL QB hand measurement. Kyler has wide palms which really doesn’t add a lot of grip on the ball when combined with small fingers. Goff has small hands, and his accuracy is sporadic. Look up images of Brees and Wilson holding the ball. Their hands are definitely big. Now look at Kyler. I just don’t see a 9.5” hand on the ball. He’s going to fumble a lot. He will throw picks. He won’t have the physical durability.
Kyler Murray is a damn bust. I see nothing special at all about him. All those hits got him flinching and scared. Scrambling for his life. Throwing inaccurate passes all over the place. NFL teams would’ve picked those passes off. BUST.
Can adjust to any offensive system, reads the Defense incredibly well for his size, trusts his Receivers and along with his speed his mind makes him a rare talent.
@@Cootsie except that the average NFL Defensive End weights 278 pounds and the average DT is 308 pounds. You might think "well that's still more than Kyler who weights 195 (really probably weights about 188 or so) but that 50 pounds is a huge difference. The chance of him being sacked is going to be different than how a player that's a pocket passer (think Tom Brady) and a dual threat (think Cam Newton). Kyler is a player that you want to create a scheme for protecting him for situations you described. Think of him taking more passes similar to the one he took at 11:56 rather than him standing in the pocket. He is still going to be in the pocket a lot but the blocking scheme might require him to move behind the line of scrimmage with his speed and agility to create more time, prevent taking certain hits, as well as create a better percentage at completing the pass. If I kept Kyler in the pocket a much higher rate than allowing him to sometimes create room with his legs, then it's a waste of a pick.
James, he’s be a rare talent if he were a few inches taller. Gage Chavez they aren’t much bigger, but you’re sifting through hundreds of players and taking the top 5%. Connor it’s a great idea, but the problem is that the only scheme that regularly gets you more than a couple seconds in the NFL is for the QB to run backwards. There’s a silly problem in the NFL that games against good teams are close late and you have to throw from the pocket. Good thing you only have to win 3 such games to win the Super Bowl IF you get a first round bye, otherwise it’s 4 in a row. He’s a bust

I could just imagine how great these OU teams would’ve been if they had Brent venables defense
Kyler Murray was the best player on the field that he literally willed Oklahoma
Bruh this game was legendary.
Quinnen Williams wanted to end his career damn
Interesting to look back at this after Murray went #1 in the draft. I intensely dislike Bama, but the elephants crushed OU and Murray here. I wish Murray could have won, but he just isn’t as good as the hype. He looks good against Big 12 teams who don’t do defense. He looked sad against Bama. He’s got heart and he can run when no one is accounting for him because they know he won’t go too far. He didn’t give up. He’s a fighter. I’m pessimistic about his career as #1 draft pick, but wish him all the best.
You took a fat L and one of the worst takes I’ve seen in football in a while lmfaooooooooo. I hope you still ain’t giving football takes
OU’s offense hits harder than their defense.

If the Cardinals don’t want him the Raiders would. This dude Kyler is 🔥 🔥
Vinnie Hugo we don’t want him.
Signed,
Raider Nation
Better than Ferrell
josh martinez you know nothing about football. Go back to folding laundry sally.
WE really... REALLY didin't want him 😂 5'10 QB... Kyler has bust written all over him.
Laura rockin them Js
Okay Laura Rutledge, I see you doing it for the culture!!
Matthew Nicholes lmao she got some heat🔥🔥
And now my boy is doing the same thing here in Az 🥲
WR #2 for OK "Lamb" is a beast. Man will be a 1st rounder someday
Can’t wait to play with him in madden 20
ICAMEFROMDASHELF ! going to be the new Vick!
He'll be in 19 too
Already played wit him on 19
Minute 6 dude that block😬

This was not a Kyler Murray highlight film but it wasn't all his fault. When a LB blitzes throw to the hole he leaves. Simple and straight forward but Oklahoma's offense did not put a receiver in the spot.
he looks like he is 5'8 on the field
looks even smaller in the NFL DAN DENNIS
Where are his first half highlights at?
lolol SW Productions
Came here to read the comments from the "Could, would, should" have fans. Your tears are enjoyable.
i dont see why he is rated #1. he breaks down on the pass too early, his passes come out from a low trajectory so it makes it tough to make intermediate throws over LB or slots.
@@NesquickBunny could not agree more. I am glad my broncos got lock in the second after trading back to get some capital.
There both nfl players now kyler Murray and marquise brown
He definitely made the right decision in choosing Football over Baseball 👏🏽🙏🏽
Frederick E you from pittsburgh?
Dub Highlights nope Louisiana but that’s Pittsburgh is my team lol
Cant spot Tide 28 and expect to win..but it got fun with the comeback try
Who is #15 for Alabama? That boy like ed reed without the hands, he's nice though
Radza Martin junior defensive back Xavier McKinney
Kyler Da 5'9"?
Agron Legioneras 😭😂😭
@@cdw5176 , laughing to your bank
that throw at 12:06 tho
Honestly, we should have never been in the playoffs with a defense that horrific.
This is exactly what will happen 2 him this season
Where that fuck was Hollywood... Cedee was balling out this game. Too bad we started like that we had the team to compete for sure
“Listed as 5”10 but no way he’s 5”10” herbstreet lol 😂
At the combine he measured 5”10 and 1/8
I live in Texas and have known about him for a while, multiple people I know have seen him in person and all say the same thing, NO way he is 5'10.
@@HEC892 So is he legit 5'9" or something?
Agron Legioneras just know he’s not 5”10 unless he grew a few inches in the last year.
Well.. He was measured at the NFL combine LAST WEEK with NO shoes on at 5”10 1/8th so there’s that...?
2:07 ok she got some heat on her feet lol
As a Cardinals fan this footage is a nightmare for me.
why a nightmare?
@@blackbarsch3654 Same. He went against an incredible array of future NFL first and second rounders and after the initial shellshock, he he adjusted and handled himself very well. While the players in the NFL are better, Murray will have better teammtes as well. He'll be fine.
Yeah, I’m not a Cardinals fan, but yikes! Watching this makes me wonder if this may be how his Sundays will look... hopefully not tho! 👍🏻
BlackBarsch because his o line stinks
@@muddbrothers1708 you got it ;)
Falling short? More like never in the game to begin with . they never were within 10 of Bama. I’m not a fan of either team but cmon this was not a close game by any means.
ruleireland6 outmatched for sure. Murray is 0-2 vs Bama in his collegiate career
He didn't look too fast in this game, his throw was a wounded duck, and he struggled throwing to covered receivers. Quinnen Williams almost killed him. First round pick? That's crazy talk. First overall? Insanity.
Golden Ages don’t believe the media hype .. they (unanimously) had Sam Darnold going 1st to the Browns last year
College QBs get to make a lot of throws with a several yard wide pocket.
Kyler Murray
Arizona I didn't see a number one pick here if anything I saw RG4
What do you mean, he was able to bring their offense back into it. You cant blame his shitty defense on him. That's not his fault
Mmmmmm if he does become a great nfl player it's bcuz of Arizona drafting him🤨 ooo and ur a bich
katelynn polk what great spelling and words.
katelynn polk great roast “ooo ur a bich”
Kyler Murray is a damn bust. I see nothing special at all about him. All those hits got him flinching and scared. Scrambling for his life. Throwing inaccurate passes all over the place. NFL teams would’ve picked those passes off. BUST.
I think Kyler winning the Heisman hurt his team's chances. Bama came out with blood in their eyes and lased out on OU.
5:58
Xclusive Snipz that block
Felt like bama didn’t try after they got up on them.
Felt like Oklahoma didn't try in the first quarter. I guarantee you that no team of Saban will give half-ass effort regardless of the quarter.
Replace future Oakland A with future Arizona Cardinal
Murray’s talent is absurd and worthy of the #1 pick 11:58 is your proof
JJQB 12 agree my man, that pass was just amazing!
JJQB 12 exactly
Damn ok I feel better lol
No way he’s 5’10 😭😭
did anyone else peep laura had the concords on?
like if u did
lmaooooo Jdkdg Hxndh
2:07 😍
Can adjust to any offensive system, reads the Defense incredibly well for his size, trusts his Receivers and along with his speed his mind makes him a rare talent.
Until he gets smacked in the NFL by a 6' 5" 350 pound NFL defensive lineman.. over and over and over and over again in his first year in the NFL.
Bradley Coots NFL linemen aren’t very much difference with Size compared to D1 top tier colleges like Alabama lmao
He’s a bust
chris p D1 linemen and NFL linemen have little very little difference. But I’ll bet my money Kyler won’t be a bust
