Hi Adrien, I'd really like to get in contact with you to talk about a documentary project on your father's work. My email address is listed on my page. Hope to hear from you. Thanks, Conner.
I remember watching them. Boston in the very early 80's. Love love love this song. I was following the Gluons at the time and later married the bass player from the Gluons. That was a great time for local music in Boston.
my sisters and I LOVED seeing Lou Dog at the Channel! I remember the little plastic cosmetics bags they would give out if you got there early, they were filled with makeup, such fun times and great memories! RIP dude you're a Boston icon!
This is so cool............RIP Lou Miami.........and Jack...........shame........... I came across this band one fun evening at Jack's in Cambridge....... Lou was quite a unique individual...... I just love watching him....He ALWAYS stopped the crowd dead in their tracks and got them going............too bad he is no longer with us :( Great video.......He will live on............... For what it's worth....I actually like 'this' version better than the 2nd version...........
YASSSS!!!! Jack's in Union Square!!!! EVERYbody with brilliance played there. I saw Lou Miami, The Dark, and Throwing Muses there literally every time they played Jack's for several years.
hey hey adrien, i grew up between boston and providence. graduated from high school in 1976. had more great nights than i can count watching your father play at the living room and lupos in providence. my wife and i, poor as could be tried pulling off having your dad and band play at our wedding reception in 1982. we ran short of cash about two weeks before the date and to cancel. one of the (not huge but you know what i mean) regrets because it would have been a bragging right. do well. thanks.
I was telling everyone I knew from Boston... this singer was incredibly fun and captivating on stage. But I also couldn't remember the name. Today I just found an old cassette with some favorite Boston bands, that I compiled. LOU MIAMI, THE DIGMATICS AND TRIBE... RODS AND CONES, THE HERITIX, SHE CRIED AND BIG CLOCK. I got to work with some great local acts at Newbury Sound and WBCN. So much great music in the city at that time.
What I would give to see Lou Miami and the Kozmetics tonight. I saw Lou a million times in the old days, I remember him opening for Iggy Pop and after his set Iggy walked on Stage and kissed hime on the mouth.
I just found a compilation Cassette 😳 as I pack my home up to move outta' Oregon. And this made me happy. Took me right back to the Boston Music Scene. I was pretty involved for a minute there. I loved what Lou Miami was doing. And so many great startups that I got to see or even work with to some degree. Big Clock, was one I tried like heck to get signed. Gave a CD to Ric Ocasek. When out to LA and into Island Records. But they enjoyed it and felt they couldn't figure where it would fit on their label. They also mentioned that all their budget is tied to a little band called U2. And they had that sound a bit too much. Tribe was a band I thought would break big... as well as The Stompers. And The Digmatics. I talked with Letters to Cleo, after I moved to LA. But the broke a little bit after the soundtrack work. Rods and Cones, the Heritics got signed and did The Hammer of Reality tour. When the record labels were just signing bands for tax write offs. ✍ it broke my heart with so many acts on the Edge of breaking big. Great memories of great music thoug.
I know it was in harvard square and i think the club was Father's 2 or Fathers's 4. Just happened to wander in and i was blown away. I remember lou looked so cool. He did this song and i can still remember like yesterday. 'ahhm, ahhm dancin' with death..oh no..don't look at mah face....
They wouldn’t know what to do with it. They may possibly try and sample, cover, or exploit it...But poseurs have a specific smell. Not unlike Hipsters. @richyrollins Hi Richy, I was a close friend of Lou's at the time of his death. For the record he did not die of "natural causes", he died of a heart attack in his apartment. Weak hearts ran in all the men in his family and in fact his father and grandfather before him both died of heart attacks at relatively young ages as well.
i look at the people in the graveyard scene and think i may know a few of them. Lets not discount the fact that Lou was a gay icon in an age where that took balls.

Hi Adrien, I'd really like to get in contact with you to talk about a documentary project on your father's work. My email address is listed on my page. Hope to hear from you. Thanks, Conner.
Watched your dads band at Harpos in Newport RI many times. Great memories! Be well.
I remember watching them. Boston in the very early 80's. Love love love this song. I was following the Gluons at the time and later married the bass player from the Gluons.
That was a great time for local music in Boston.
What's your dad doing these days?
I still love this song . It brings me back to the 1980s. Thanks for posting it.
The DJ at this show I was at the other night played this song and I've been playing it on repeat ever since.
Wow! May I ask what club and where?
my sisters and I LOVED seeing Lou Dog at the Channel! I remember the little plastic cosmetics bags they would give out if you got there early, they were filled with makeup, such fun times and great memories! RIP dude you're a Boston icon!
no, there was no one cooler that lou miami. saw him do this song at a club in Cambridge many years ago. i wish i could go back to that time.
I think you’ll like my comment. It’s the most recent one. Check it if you feel up to it...8 years after you wrote this
Lol
@@sarahbranham945 What comment? Why didn't you just write it here...4 years after you wrote that.
There was a stretch where I went to every Lou Miami gig for about a year and a half, Lou was Magnificent, as was Jack.
Thanks again TH-cam. TH-cam is your Jewish friend with all the sick records and bootlegs.
This is so cool............RIP Lou Miami.........and Jack...........shame...........

In college we had a food service company called Danka. We used to sing oh I"m, I"m dining with Danka. Oh no....no.. don't eat the food. Good memories.
Lou played at my brother Joe's wedding at Cantone's in Boston. Was a great time!
What a great memory of that club! Really so cool he played for your brother!

Inman Square, Rathskellar, Canterbury Pub (Grovers)... Lou was a genius.

Just came across this first time. That was pretty epic! Thanks!
I watch this every day
I support this. In fact, I find it to be an essential lifestyle choice. Without doing this...you may have a life, but certainly no Style

i watch a shitload of videos, but i always seem to come back to lou miami at the end of the night. young kids know nothing of lou's talent.
Still suffering from a beating I took at one of his shows, but good times.

me maybe, I thinking Beach Comber...maybe twice.

I believe the club in Harvard Square mentioned below was "Jonathan Swift's."
someone below commented that lou looks like marilyn manson. i see more pee wee herman and boy george.
😂👍
both more favorable comparisons. But "Don't look at my face!!!!!!"
people would bring pics of peewee and put them on the monitors so he could see him.Lou was polite about it but wasn't too happy about it.

Totally agree, it was a labor of love making the video.
Was there anyone cooler than Lou Miami? i think not.

Not an opinion . SUCH A CLEAR AND Simple situation you couldn’t not know if you tried... and of course this is FACT. painfully obvious FACT, at that

Hey Lou are you still alive? It's the bass player from the vectors!
Was this song on MTV Basement tapes with a different video?
I don't think so. I know they played 100 Years from today we shot with Lou. But I've never seen a different version of Dancing with Death. His manager Joan may have produced one - but it's never been anywhere that I could find.
ProdValues I found a snippet of the other video in the 30 go interview with Lou Miami video. Thank you for your message.
anyone have a link to guitar tabs for this song?
Best Part: 2:39 - 2:55
Thanks - at the time believe it or not - it was a complicated move. Not anymore
@@ProdValues I can imagine.
Anyway, this video is still more charming than many others made with modern/advanced gears!
I know that this will be a stupid and predictable comment, but...
The moments around
1:57 and 2:29 and 3:23 and 3:37
are quite interesting too!
the title should be: Dance With Death
Turbo Dojo
What year is this?
It was either 1983 or 1984
