I really appreciate their honesty. Instead of serving a sugar-coated story of their closeness, Chaewon and Sakura chose to explain how they developed their bond from izone era to now being members of Le Sserafim. Admit that they weren't best friends before and that's okay, but the way they try to get closer now is really sweet. It feels so touching and sincere. I'm sure many people can relate to their struggles. Let alone being like sisters who show affection and share emotions, some people have a hard time to just being open and get along with others.

I bet a bigger reason is rather the fact that we also change character as we age. (And the life-period of Chaewon between Iz*one and Le sserafim is significant to that) She may have naturally bounded more with a different clique inside iz*one. Even a very subtle change in character may have helped Chaewon, and Sakura to get closer. *I used Chaewon as an example because of her being younger
*Also Sakura* had a lot of solo activities right off the bat so she would have fewer opportunities for bonding. On top of which she was an unnie and an established star, so the combination of the other girls being a little intimidated by her and Sakura being an introvert with poor skinship skills wouldn't have helped.
I think we should keep in mind that they might not have been close friends but they were still friends and cared about each other. Remember IZ*ONE’s last concert when Chaewon was crying giving her speech, borderline having a panic attack, and Sakura got up out of her seat to go comfort Chaewon. Chaewon was the only member she comforted because of how badly she was crying. They had love for one another but I’m glad they got this chance to become closer like best friends.
Back when they were in IZ*ONE people been talking about how they had the least ineractions and claimed they were awkward with each other. Others said it was false but Chae and Kkura really came out and said, "Yup! That's true"
but i felt like even though sakura and chaewon were in the same group again it felt like they have more bond with other members like sakura and eunchae and chaewon and yunjin, these two are introvert and hardly express themselves to each other which is the opposite of yunjin and eunchae who really playful and can express themselves freely that makes sakura and chaewon get close to them easily
I agree that the language barrier played a huge role, because even throughout Produce you could see how fast Nako and Tomi were adapting and learning Korean compared to Kkura. So she was pressured and just stuck to J-line and Chaeyeon for quite a while!
As a WIZ*ONE, it's very much understandable since Chaewon always spend time with Minju, Yujin, and Yena during their IZ*ONE days. Same goes for Sakura with Nako and Chaeyeon. (It's also understandable that I've just recently subscribed to you now after months of watching your videos... Keep this up!!)
Also, understandable since for the J-line communication was hard. They had to learn Korean on their own. Now kkura and Zuha take Korean classes that Hybe supplied them. Also, kkura taking English classes as well.
@@favorsoe8248 oh she does, but still the jline had to study on they’re. I know she tried to help them as much as she could. They had a pretty tight schedule of learning choreography and what not. I was saying they didn’t have a teacher in Izone as they do now in hybe. I think they put most of the people who spoke varying degrees of Japanese in the same dorm with the jline.
Now that you mention it those were the dorms they were in right? Sakura was with jline and chaeyeon. The dorm had all the chaotic kids with Chaewon, yena, Yujin etc.
As a WIZ*ONE I feel like I have to clear up a bit of the misunderstanding... The fact that Chaewon and Sakura weren't that close in IZ*ONE doesn't mean that the whole group weren't close or were just co-workers! The two of them are just examples of introvert people who need more time or an extroverted friend to open up to others. In this case these were Yena and Chaeyeon for Chaewon and Sakura respectively. Other members like Yujin and Eunbi had their own approach to interact with each of the girls even if they weren't that close at first. Sure, maybe not all of them were as close with each other as they could, but the vibe of the group and their chemistry has always been one of the best!
Couldn’t have said it better. Communication barrier, different forms and introverted people. I know as an introvert myself that’s what I need to make knew friends. It takes awhile for me to open up. Plus the fact that the j-line had learn Korean by themselves or with help from some of the members. 😅 I can understand then gravitating to the members who spoke a lil bit of Japanese. Yujin is the same mbti as chaewon but new a bit more Japanese and made the effort to talk w kkura and the jline. I think it’s so cool how chaewon knows more Japanese now compared to in Izone. How she’s tried to be more open as an Unnie in this group. Yes she’s closest to Yunjin in this group probably because they’re dorm mates. Just give them a house for all of them to live in please lol ❤😂
and like some groups members some being japanese and some being korean def had a influence on they dynamic and the fact the group only lasted 2 years and not the typical 7 years
this, and add the fact that they literally were in different dorms (and also cw being korean and skr being a japanese, you have to consider that too) and like you said, there are more members were they are respectively close to individually. They were considerate of one another and that what makes their chemistry as a group amazing,, despite 2/12 of them not being that much closer than before Im glad they've gotten much more close now in le sserafim ❤❤
@diosdinerodani yeap totally agree with this! Just look at momo and nayeon. During their early years as twice, they are not that close, but now those two basically inseparable
Honestly, Chaewon got along very well with everyone, except Sakura. She was pretty uncomfortable with her during IZONE. I feel like that their personality/mentality are _very_ different from one another. Even in LSF, while they're close now, Chaewon clearly gets along better with Kazuha. Same with Kazuha. She's obviously close with Sakura, but they never spent any time doing things together in the dorm. Sakura said on 'Fearless Kkura' that she wanted to hang out together, instead of always being in the room and become "best friends." But, Kazuha always went out with Yunjin, instead. Chaewon made true lifelong friends in IZONE, who she consistently keeps in touch and hangs out with꞉ Minju, Yujin, Yena. Sakura didn't make any friends like that in IZONE, they're just close acquaintances who she'll be happy to see. But, doesn't really keep in touch with any of them, maybe except Hyewon, sometimes. Sakura's closest friends are Sasshi, Murashige, who she talks to every day.

The first part was taken from chaewon’s weverse article from debut. Both of their debut weverse articles say they’re greatful to get this second chance to debut together and get a longer time to spend together. Sakuras always mentioned that chaewon was one of the members she wished she get closer to in Izone from her radio shows and various stuff. Glad that wish came true for her and now their good friends who can lean on one another. Although kkura still doesn’t let chaewon on when she’s having troubles. One thing Chaewon wished her Unnie would do. Come to her when she is in one. I think reason is she knows chaewon is already under a lot of pressure as a leader and doesn’t want to bother her with her own stuff. Kinda like how Eunbi was in Izone. Never let on when she was having own troubles. Anyways, I find it funny both wish for the other to open up 🤣. To me their both tsundere’s.
tbh you only need to watch Sakura's radio show during IZ*ONE's debut days to see that Kkura is a huge ChaeWon fangirl lol... she kept telling her radio listeners that ChaeWon is just the cutest thing ever, praising her with all kinds of things like how a fangirl would to her idol... And ChaeWon respects Kkura as she's a senior experienced idol who is super famous in Japan.
Yes, Sakura was a fan of Chaewon. But, Chaewon didn't really vibe well with her during IZONE. And, honestly, Sakura didn't become big in Japan until she got into IZONE, and especially, LSF. She was only popular _within_ HKT. 48g is like their own little bubble. Which is why it's very rare to see someone graduate and succeed in a major way, outside of the group.
from what I’ve observed back in their iz*one days ssamkkura has their own circle of friends within their group. Sakura is very much closer to her very vey group aka Chaeyeon, Eunbi and Minju she’s also close with Yujin and Yena. Chaewon is pretty much closer to her joyuriz group aka Yuri and Yena and also Eunbi, Minju and Nako.
I think that's really fascinating. Still, given time I think Chaewon and Sakura would have naturally gotten closer had IZ*ONE been a normal group. They only had so much time, had to focus on the work, and there were so many members. So it's understandable.
Honestly it makes sense, my class in school was just 15 people, I was with 4 of them since we were 4 or 5 years old in kinder, of those people I wasn't really close to anyone, I had my friends who joined later and one that I had known since 1st grade but even him and I didn't get close until the class started to downsize as we grew up, that's why it surprises me so much how Seventeen can seem so close, I'm sure not everyone is the same level of close to eachother but I wouldn't have dreamt to hug a few of those classmates I had been with since I was 4 in the way they all hug eachother, it's so nice that now they are in Lesserafim and they could get really close now, and it's so interesting because it probably was with the person they least expected it and even the fans may now have expected them to continue together And now they have this little family called lesserafim where it's more chances that they interact with eachother
It wasn’t for the lack of effort though…at least on Kura’s part. She often praised Chaewon and said so many good things about her during the Iz*One days, made her food and even talked about her on her radio show, saying if an angel could speak it would sound like chaewon etc. I never got the impression Chaewon liked her to the same extent or reciprocated. So yeah, it was awkward. Just not due to the “oh there was 12 members and not enough time together and *insert excuse*” because the time they did spend together was obviously meaningful to just one of them.
Yup the IZ*One girls got along fine with each other but they definitely had their different circles of friend groups. Sakura and Chaewon just happened to be in different circles (as well as different living areas)
With 12 people in the group there were members in izone who clearly weren’t very close but all the members did care about each other. Like Nako and Minju barely talked to each other outside of filming or Sakura and Wonyoung having few interactions. It doesn’t mean they were on bad terms, just clearly not as close as the obvious friendships like Sakura and Nako or Chaewon and Yena. But you can definitely tell that Sakura and Chaewon are very close now. They have a good unspoken chemistry together now. Like in their recent Day Off episode where unnie line was so energetic and joking together the whole time.
firstly, they have 12 member and getting close to all of them is kinda hard(not impossible) secondly, considering sakura still in process of learning korean, she might struggle to blend in with member that dont speak japanese lastly,both of them live in different dorm. post izone, i only see chaewon is more close with yena and minju.also during youngji show she said she miss yujin
Sakura was in three groups.But she was very close only with the members of lesserafim.She is very happy with them.lesserafim not a group,they are family..they are love to each other..
I think it’s because this is Sakura’s last and forever group. Hkt48 was an individual idol competition that’s mostly only known in Japan rather than a real group. She was always going to graduate eventually. Then izone gave her a taste of global recognition and fame but izone was a temporary project group. Now with Sakura being 25 she probably won’t redebut again. Le sserafim is her home now until she retires being an idol. Plus with only 5 members, it’s much easier for the members to bond with each other.
i mean it makes sense. there are groups like seventeen that are all so close even tho they have 13 members. iz*one was known to disband so it was probably hard for all of them to even try getting close knowing that theyre going to loose each other one day.
I think it makes sense. There was 12 of them and they didnt live in the same dorm. Also for some time Sakura wasnt fluent in Korean to really communicate with everyone. Im so happy fate brought them together again and now they are sisters!!
Both introverts and Chaewon did say it takes her a long time to make friends. Even tougher since they stayed in different dorms in IZ*ONE days. Might be a different story if they lived in the same dorm and shared the same bedroom together Unlike Yena and Yujin who are bubbly extraverts were friends with everyone.
One big factor is that sakura’s Korean wasn’t that good back then bc she just came to the country. The language barrier made it hard for them to get super close
It's actually obvious in izone that they are awkward around each other. And it's also obvious in lesserafim that they've gotten so close. Me who have been following sakura since izone can see it well. It's no problem to not close with your member especially izone is a 12-members group. There's just no way you can be close to every single one of them. Think of it just like in a classroom, there's a lot of people and there's no way you are close to every single of your classmate. The way I see it, izone have this kind of groups of close friends inside the group. Chaewon and Sakura just happen to be in different close-friend group in izone. People may argue that there is a group with a lot of people who are close to each other easily, but please take note that izone is short-lived. And coming from a survival show, there's just this competition vibes going on between the members especially since they knew they'd disband and going their own ways. So they try hard to gather as much fans as possible while in izone. Which result in the invisible competition walls between the members. It doesn't mean their competition is unhealthy. Izone in a whole is like a fun classmates. They play well and compete well. Although sometimes you can see there's some issues with Wonyoung and Sakura or Chaeyeon and Kline, most time they care for each other just like how you care for your coworkers. In case of Wonyoung and Sakura, it's clear as day they're not close. Again perhaps it's because of the after effects of the survival show. And that's totally okay. In the end of the day, they all are strangers being put together working to gain money. They're essentially co-workers. It's okay to not be personally close with them. The important things they get along well and not bullying each other. Even tho maybe one member dislike the others and vice versa, there isn't any bullying happened as it seems. Then again, it's probably because of the mnet rigged scandal that strike them and almost make them disbanded before its time. That 3-months hiatus really is full of uncertainty fro them. And because of that, when they finally pull through it together, they seems much more closer than before. As a group and individually. They only have each other's back and they know it well. That's why they have amazing chemistry as a group.
Dude I don’t think their goal in Izone was to get personal fans. They just wanted to work together because for some of them it was their only time they were going to pursue being in a GG. Case in point with Hyewon, Minju, and Eunbi. They’re wasn’t a competition between each other. More like it’s a big group that got separated between dorms. Plus the fact of the communication barrier between the J-line who had to learn Korean on their own. Plus the fact of who got paired with whom on variety show content. Plus we don’t know all the going ons once the camera was not on. Do I believe they were friends all of them to a certain degree. Yes, but some were closer than other. Anyways, have a good day/week. I wouldn't say they were awkward with each other or hated each other. It's more like they have their own close friends being in such a large members group, and some was a social butterfly like Yena that can be close with everybody, literally, and some like Chaewon and Kkura that only close with the one they always hangout with (they're introvets) and they're never lived together too (correct me if I'm wrong) so I guess it's inevitable. But definitely, after the scandal, they become much much closer than before, I think their mindset changed? The whole group has this sense of togetherness like never before, so I think that's why they're still close even till this day. Maybe not best best friends, but definitely close friends who will support and help you. I've never seen anything like this in a temporary survival group before.

I never had a large friend group not until college. And within that friend group there still will be smaller groups - which are the close ones. I didn't like the setting since I felt alone and nobody's close friend. I think that setting is were sakura and chaewon was. Good thing they're currently developing a strong bond now ❤
I had the same in secondary school, there were about 10-12 of us girls who would sit together everyday at break and lunch and with each other in class. But out of that group I was only truly close to about 4 of them & they would be the ones I'd hang out with outside of school too. Meanwhile, there were two or three in the group I'd barely talk to at all. So I also can easily understand how Sakura and Chaewon weren't close before being in IZ*ONE, but it's cute they are now ^^
Kkura the introvert doesn't really hang out with many of izone girls but she clearly has close friends (others talk about her, but not kkura). Yena being yena and hangs with the most izone girls. Ssam, yujin, Yuri, Minju. Yena said she wanted to hang out with kkura more on her show but kkura played iron defense card 😂 Chaewon likes dating other members 1on1. Minju, yena, chaeyeon. Eunbi sees Yuri a lot but always keeps in contact with everyone and checks in regularly. Must be a leader thing. Yuri always doing cute things with minju as they are neighbours now. Hyewon also hangs with members 1on1 but is a bit more private like kkura. Everyone talks in the groupchat we get leaks of now and then (except when yena posts selcas and no one responds 😢). Sources of above: 🫧, photo proofs, interviews, nako + tomi (who dont seem like they have contractual obligations to not leak lol) So lets not make assumptions that izone were putting on friendships. Sure members weren't close (Kkura chaewon) but they were closer than what people would probably misinterpret.
If you think about it, following them since izone days, chaewon's the member sakura least interacted to. They really were not close but friendly to each other. Chaewon's clique - minju, yena, yujin are close to sakura.

Chaewon have YenYul back then with her while kkura have chaeyeon as her best partner at that time..plus introverts and limitless in language since kkura doesn't know much korean as she do now I think explain why are they not close with each other..but that doesn't mean that they are awkward..im a later wizone which means I just discover izone just recently but judging by every videos that have chaewon n kkura together as izone does spark some chemistry between them..which explains why their friendships is stronger now..

It's normal. IZ*ONE has 12 members and 2 dorms. They basically lived separately and barely knew each other since Produce 48. During IZ*ONE, Chaewon closes with Minju, Yena, and Yuri while Sakura closes with Chaeyeon and J-line. It is freaking hard for introverts to close to each other without adoption from extroverts (LMAO). After they found out they reunited in the same company, they were automatically closed trainee to each other because of the 2.5-year IZ*ONE promotion, such a beautiful fate.
makes sense. there were alot of members and 2 of them were japanese. now theres 4 which is way easier to manage. with 4 you cant really split off unless u tried really hard.
Seems like Chaewon is only close with Minju and Yena since they hang out from time to time. I havent seen Sakura interacts with any former izone members after disbandment
I think she's close with Yujin too but they are both so busy and also she's especially close with her Eunbi unnie. I heard recently too that apparently chaeyeon and some other izone members met up with Chaewon

Honestly, language barrier had nothing to do with anything. Chaewon got along well with Nako, and especially, Hitomi very quickly. Chaewon just simply didn't vibe well with Sakura during IZONE. Even now, while they have gotten closer, Chaewon clearly gets along better with Kazuha than Sakura. Kazuha also gets along better with Chaewon as well. Also, Sakura was close with more one Korean member. She became closest to Hyewon as time went on over Chaeyeon. They even hung out together shortly after LSF's debut and she introduced Kazuha to Hyewon. She never hung out with Chaeyeon after LSF's debut, until just recently, when 10 IZONE members met up. Sakura was also close with Yujin, Minju, Eunbi, and Yena.
Depends on the group. For sure, a lot of groups are just business. But, groups like Twice, Red Velvet, BlackPink, Mamamoo, SNSD, Rainbow, 4Minute, CLC, Kara, etc, are all close to one another. IZONE members are generally close. 10 of the members hung out recently and said that they decided to meet up, at least, once a year - because they had so much fun. But, there were certain members who weren't really close with Sakura like that during IZONE꞉ Chaewon, Wonyoung, and Yuri.
That is why I always say lesserafim is a group because of destiny Despite two of them being in same group previously debuted again here and closer than ever.... yunjin leaving her admission in states and coming to korea as trainee.... kazuha leveing her 15 years old career for k-pop and eunchae a little girl who loves to perform came together to form a beautiful group.... they have seen everything harsh in beginning of their career and I wish they enjoy their time together with their fans 💙
Hey it happens, one of my previous circle of friends was like 10-12 main people + others not as close, and even within the 10 there was 1 or 2 people that I didn't feel super close with. Not that we hated each other, we hung out and everything, I guess the chemistry just wasn't as good as with the rest of the group. No biggie 👌
As a wizone i think this is understable, they have 12 members. Sakura close to chaeyeon, chaewon close to minju and yena. Meanwhile the other like eunbi , yujin, yena, hyewon trying to get close with their own way, and i can tell their way is unique😅
I'm not really familiar with Izone but I'm glad that Chae and Kkura are in one group and that what matters the most now. I'm pretty sure they are still friends with ex-izone members, but their priorities now are different and it's Lesserafim #Fimily
Actually, Sakura was close to Chaeyeon, Minju, Yena, Yujin, Eunbi, Hyewon, Hitomi, and Nako. But, certain members like Wonyoung, Yuri, and Chaewon weren't really close to Sakura like that. But, they got along well with Nako and Hitomi.

To me this perfectly showcases what didn't work in IZ*ONE and what does works now that the members are split up. You can tell when the friendship is real.
thats why i can't stand big group even my ult twice before has a lot of awkward moments that I can't stand ex. tzuyu and nayeon's date, momo and jihyo's date. the group is already in 7 years how much more with izone who only have 2 years and has 12 members 😢 but yeah we can't force people tho
This is exactly why i don‘t like groups with too many members. There will always be members who don‘t interact with each other just because they’re too many people in the group

I agree that the language barrier played a huge role, because even throughout Produce you could see how fast Nako and Tomi were adapting and learning Korean compared to Kkura. So she was pressured and just stuck to J-line and Chaeyeon for quite a while!
As a WIZ*ONE, it's very much understandable since Chaewon always spend time with Minju, Yujin, and Yena during their IZ*ONE days. Same goes for Sakura with Nako and Chaeyeon.

Also, understandable since for the J-line communication was hard. They had to learn Korean on their own. Now kkura and Zuha take Korean classes that Hybe supplied them. Also, kkura taking English classes as well.

As a WIZ*ONE I feel like I have to clear up a bit of the misunderstanding... The fact that Chaewon and Sakura weren't that close in IZ*ONE doesn't mean that the whole group weren't close or were just co-workers! The two of them are just examples of introvert people who need more time or an extroverted friend to open up to others. In this case these were Yena and Chaeyeon for Chaewon and Sakura respectively. Other members like Yujin and Eunbi had their own approach to interact with each of the girls even if they weren't that close at first. Sure, maybe not all of them were as close with each other as they could, but the vibe of the group and their chemistry has always been one of the best!
Couldn’t have said it better. Communication barrier, different forms and introverted people. I know as an introvert myself that’s what I need to make knew friends. It takes awhile for me to open up. Plus the fact that the j-line had learn Korean by themselves or with help from some of the members. 😅 I can understand then gravitating to the members who spoke a lil bit of Japanese. Yujin is the same mbti as chaewon but new a bit more Japanese and made the effort to talk w kkura and the jline.

and like some groups members some being japanese and some being korean def had a influence on they dynamic and the fact the group only lasted 2 years and not the typical 7 years
this, and add the fact that they literally were in different dorms (and also cw being korean and skr being a japanese, you have to consider that too) and like you said, there are more members were they are respectively close to individually. They were considerate of one another and that what makes their chemistry as a group amazing,, despite 2/12 of them not being that much closer than before

Honestly, Chaewon got along very well with everyone, except Sakura. She was pretty uncomfortable with her during IZONE. I feel like that their personality/mentality are _very_ different from one another.
Even in LSF, while they're close now, Chaewon clearly gets along better with Kazuha. Same with Kazuha. She's obviously close with Sakura, but they never spent any time doing things together in the dorm. Sakura said on 'Fearless Kkura' that she wanted to hang out together, instead of always being in the room and become "best friends." But, Kazuha always went out with Yunjin, instead.
Chaewon made true lifelong friends in IZONE, who she consistently keeps in touch and hangs out with꞉ Minju, Yujin, Yena. Sakura didn't make any friends like that in IZONE, they're just close acquaintances who she'll be happy to see. But, doesn't really keep in touch with any of them, maybe except Hyewon, sometimes. Sakura's closest friends are Sasshi, Murashige, who she talks to every day.

I'm glad hearing they talked about their old time together in Iz*one. I'm the one who had ever thought that they were not so close to each other and I do wish Sakura would have someone she's really closed to in the same group. However, it's great to see them like this nowadays. They are comfortable with each other and also in the group. I'm happy for them! 🥰
The first part was taken from chaewon’s weverse article from debut. Both of their debut weverse articles say they’re greatful to get this second chance to debut together and get a longer time to spend together. Sakuras always mentioned that chaewon was one of the members she wished she get closer to in Izone from her radio shows and various stuff. Glad that wish came true for her and now their good friends who can lean on one another. Although kkura still doesn’t let chaewon on when she’s having troubles. One thing Chaewon wished her Unnie would do. Come to her when she is in one. I think reason is she knows chaewon is already under a lot of pressure as a leader and doesn’t want to bother her with her own stuff. Kinda like how Eunbi was in Izone. Never let on when she was having own troubles. Anyways, I find it funny both wish for the other to open up 🤣. To me their both tsundere’s.
tbh you only need to watch Sakura's radio show during IZ*ONE's debut days to see that Kkura is a huge ChaeWon fangirl lol... she kept telling her radio listeners that ChaeWon is just the cutest thing ever, praising her with all kinds of things like how a fangirl would to her idol... And ChaeWon respects Kkura as she's a senior experienced idol who is super famous in Japan.
Yes, Sakura was a fan of Chaewon. But, Chaewon didn't really vibe well with her during IZONE. And, honestly, Sakura didn't become big in Japan until she got into IZONE, and especially, LSF. She was only popular _within_ HKT. 48g is like their own little bubble. Which is why it's very rare to see someone graduate and succeed in a major way, outside of the group.
from what I’ve observed back in their iz*one days ssamkkura has their own circle of friends within their group. Sakura is very much closer to her very vey group aka Chaeyeon, Eunbi and Minju she’s also close with Yujin and Yena. Chaewon is pretty much closer to her joyuriz group aka Yuri and Yena and also Eunbi, Minju and Nako.
I think that's really fascinating. Still, given time I think Chaewon and Sakura would have naturally gotten closer had IZ*ONE been a normal group. They only had so much time, had to focus on the work, and there were so many members. So it's understandable.
So fulfilling to see how close they are now, it was destiny
Honestly it makes sense, my class in school was just 15 people, I was with 4 of them since we were 4 or 5 years old in kinder, of those people I wasn't really close to anyone, I had my friends who joined later and one that I had known since 1st grade but even him and I didn't get close until the class started to downsize as we grew up, that's why it surprises me so much how Seventeen can seem so close, I'm sure not everyone is the same level of close to eachother but I wouldn't have dreamt to hug a few of those classmates I had been with since I was 4 in the way they all hug eachother, it's so nice that now they are in Lesserafim and they could get really close now, and it's so interesting because it probably was with the person they least expected it and even the fans may now have expected them to continue together
And now they have this little family called lesserafim where it's more chances that they interact with eachother
It wasn’t for the lack of effort though…at least on Kura’s part. She often praised Chaewon and said so many good things about her during the Iz*One days, made her food and even talked about her on her radio show, saying if an angel could speak it would sound like chaewon etc. I never got the impression Chaewon liked her to the same extent or reciprocated. So yeah, it was awkward. Just not due to the “oh there was 12 members and not enough time together and *insert excuse*” because the time they did spend together was obviously meaningful to just one of them.
Yup the IZ*One girls got along fine with each other but they definitely had their different circles of friend groups. Sakura and Chaewon just happened to be in different circles (as well as different living areas)

With 12 people in the group there were members in izone who clearly weren’t very close but all the members did care about each other. Like Nako and Minju barely talked to each other outside of filming or Sakura and Wonyoung having few interactions. It doesn’t mean they were on bad terms, just clearly not as close as the obvious friendships like Sakura and Nako or Chaewon and Yena. But you can definitely tell that Sakura and Chaewon are very close now. They have a good unspoken chemistry together now. Like in their recent Day Off episode where unnie line was so energetic and joking together the whole time.

I think it’s because this is Sakura’s last and forever group. Hkt48 was an individual idol competition that’s mostly only known in Japan rather than a real group. She was always going to graduate eventually. Then izone gave her a taste of global recognition and fame but izone was a temporary project group. Now with Sakura being 25 she probably won’t redebut again. Le sserafim is her home now until she retires being an idol. Plus with only 5 members, it’s much easier for the members to bond with each other.

It's actually obvious in izone that they are awkward around each other. And it's also obvious in lesserafim that they've gotten so close. Me who have been following sakura since izone can see it well.
It's no problem to not close with your member especially izone is a 12-members group. There's just no way you can be close to every single one of them. Think of it just like in a classroom, there's a lot of people and there's no way you are close to every single of your classmate.
The way I see it, izone have this kind of groups of close friends inside the group. Chaewon and Sakura just happen to be in different close-friend group in izone.
People may argue that there is a group with a lot of people who are close to each other easily, but please take note that izone is short-lived. And coming from a survival show, there's just this competition vibes going on between the members especially since they knew they'd disband and going their own ways. So they try hard to gather as much fans as possible while in izone. Which result in the invisible competition walls between the members.
It doesn't mean their competition is unhealthy. Izone in a whole is like a fun classmates. They play well and compete well. Although sometimes you can see there's some issues with Wonyoung and Sakura or Chaeyeon and Kline, most time they care for each other just like how you care for your coworkers.
In case of Wonyoung and Sakura, it's clear as day they're not close. Again perhaps it's because of the after effects of the survival show. And that's totally okay. In the end of the day, they all are strangers being put together working to gain money. They're essentially co-workers. It's okay to not be personally close with them.
The important things they get along well and not bullying each other. Even tho maybe one member dislike the others and vice versa, there isn't any bullying happened as it seems. Then again, it's probably because of the mnet rigged scandal that strike them and almost make them disbanded before its time. That 3-months hiatus really is full of uncertainty fro them. And because of that, when they finally pull through it together, they seems much more closer than before. As a group and individually. They only have each other's back and they know it well. That's why they have amazing chemistry as a group.
Dude I don’t think their goal in Izone was to get personal fans. They just wanted to work together because for some of them it was their only time they were going to pursue being in a GG. Case in point with Hyewon, Minju, and Eunbi.
They’re wasn’t a competition between each other. More like it’s a big group that got separated between dorms. Plus we don’t know all the going ons once the camera was not on.

I wouldn't say they were awkward with each other or hated each other. It's more like they have their own close friends being in such a large members group, and some was a social butterfly like Yena that can be close with everybody, literally, and some like Chaewon and Kkura that only close with the one they always hangout with (they're introvets) and they're never lived together too (correct me if I'm wrong) so I guess it's inevitable. But definitely, after the scandal, they become much much closer than before, I think their mindset changed? The whole group has this sense of togetherness like never before, so I think that's why they're still close even till this day. Maybe not best best friends, but definitely close friends who will support and help you. I've never seen anything like this in a temporary survival group before.

I never had a large friend group not until college. And within that friend group there still will be smaller groups - which are the close ones. I didn't like the setting since I felt alone and nobody's close friend.
I think that setting is were sakura and chaewon was. Good thing they're currently developing a strong bond now ❤
I had the same in secondary school, there were about 10-12 of us girls who would sit together everyday at break and lunch and with each other in class. But out of that group I was only truly close to about 4 of them & they would be the ones I'd hang out with outside of school too. Meanwhile, there were two or three in the group I'd barely talk to at all. So I also can easily understand how Sakura and Chaewon weren't close before being in IZ*ONE, but it's cute they are now ^^

It's normal. IZ*ONE has 12 members and 2 dorms. They basically lived separately and barely knew each other since Produce 48. During IZ*ONE, Chaewon closes with Minju, Yena, and Yuri while Sakura closes with Chaeyeon and J-line. It is freaking hard for introverts to close to each other without adoption from extroverts (LMAO). After they found out they reunited in the same company, they were automatically closed trainee to each other because of the 2.5-year IZ*ONE promotion, such a beautiful fate.

Honestly, language barrier had nothing to do with anything. Chaewon got along well with Nako, and especially, Hitomi very quickly. Chaewon just simply didn't vibe well with Sakura during IZONE. Even now, while they have gotten closer, Chaewon clearly gets along better with Kazuha than Sakura. Kazuha also gets along better with Chaewon as well.
Also, Sakura was close with more one Korean member. She became closest to Hyewon as time went on over Chaeyeon. They even hung out together shortly after LSF's debut and she introduced Kazuha to Hyewon. She never hung out with Chaeyeon after LSF's debut, until just recently, when 10 IZONE members met up. Sakura was also close with Yujin, Minju, Eunbi, and Yena.

Depends on the group. For sure, a lot of groups are just business. But, groups like Twice, Red Velvet, BlackPink, Mamamoo, SNSD, Rainbow, 4Minute, CLC, Kara, etc, are all close to one another.
IZONE members are generally close. 10 of the members hung out recently and said that they decided to meet up, at least, once a year - because they had so much fun. But, there were certain members who weren't really close with Sakura like that during IZONE꞉ Chaewon, Wonyoung, and Yuri.

Despite two of them being in same group previously debuted again here and closer than ever.... yunjin leaving her admission in states and coming to korea as trainee.... kazuha leveing her 15 years old career for k-pop and eunchae a little girl who loves to perform came together to form a beautiful group.... they have seen everything harsh in beginning of their career and I wish they enjoy their time together with their fans 💙

Hey it happens, one of my previous circle of friends was like 10-12 main people + others not as close, and even within the 10 there was 1 or 2 people that I didn't feel super close with. Not that we hated each other, we hung out and everything, I guess the chemistry just wasn't as good as with the rest of the group. No biggie 👌
