    'Temple By The Sea.' My grandfather lived in Carpichaima and during a visit way back then in early 1950's, I saw a man riding his bicycle with a bag of cement on his way to the sea. It was explained, that this sadhu was building a temple in the sea - in memory of his wife. Also, that everyone in the neighbourhood thought he is crazy. The original simple 'temple' was a lot smaller and definitely in the sea surrounded by water. I remember the man slowly making his way with that bag of cement to build his temple. Now this temple sitting in the sea is nowhere near the original...

      @TrinbagoVibes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, the sea was claiming all the hard work he did, so in 2004, the government stepped in and made this temple by the sea in honor of Siewdass Sadhu and his work

    Do you know why there are so many Hindus/Hindu temples on Trinidad, but not a single one on Tobago?

    • @TrinbagoVibes
      @TrinbagoVibes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s because most if not all of the indentured laborers settle here in Trinidad as compared to Tobago, and there is actually a temple in Tobago..will do a vlog on it one of these days but it’s a simple structure

    Why that much mandirs ?

    • @TrinbagoVibes
      @TrinbagoVibes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cuz approximately 43% of our population is of Indian decent as a result of indentureship, therefore Indian cultures and traditions live on here in the island, thus the many mandirs. You’ll also find many mosques and churches here as well

    You need to stop the "would have" and use the simple past tense. "would have" means it didn't happen as planned.
