VW campervans hold their value really well. They look stunning, drive and handle like a premium car and can easily navigate narrow country lanes and fit most carparks and home driveways... The porta-potty is generally hidden neatly under the rear seat. So, lot's of people have campervans as their only vehicle - as it works out cheaper and easier for them, rather than running a motorhome AND a car/bike! 👍

Interesting choice, I'd never use the pop top except in the depths of summer. The rock n roll not only offers security but also stealth and primarily insulation. Being interested in urban environments definitely the pop top would be the exception. Nice van. Wish vw did better sound insulation. That should be a priority for long journey vehicles. Road noise sucks. Its fine up to 30mph, over that and the roar is real.
I think it depends on the van. I drove a 2015 T5 the other day back from Essex and was pleasantly surprised how quiet it was. I'm sure there are things you can do to help minimise the noise issue but sometimes we do have to just take it on the chin😆

Not bad van for days out but the VW doesn't have a bathroom for off sight and of road camping that my opinion

No owner will go off road with those wheels.
VW campers are impractical and so many are passes off as holiday vehicles for 4/5 inhabitants. Can you imagine sharing with 4 others.
They are OK to use as a day out vehicle including in that day, outdoor pursuits then returning for a cup of tea and a sit down while filling a bucket of warm water to wash with then using said bucket as your loo then burying the solids in the hole you have dug. Proper wild camping style.

Pretty on the outside and looks slick in the rear view mirror.
All mod cons? Don't think so.....an outside loo which you would need is so Victorian.
No solar no rally field meet ups.
Would suit the surfer dudes etc or the modders detailing if on their parents drive.

As 60 something old duffers we get to detail our T6 camper on our own drive, who'd have thought?
Things we can also do in the van include not holding up other traffic, parking in multi storey car parks with a 2m height limit and normal car size spaces everywhere else, admittedly can't take a dump or shower inside but then we don't have to lug a trolley full of poop across the site the next day either... let's face it the site toilet block is where that sort of stuff should happen, not less than a metre from your loved ones.
Ours is a tin tent not a bungalow on wheels.

See quite a lot now on sites, not much room no shower don't really get it. Probably OK for days out with a porta potty but I'd rather have our twin axle any day.
Do you know if they ship to the US or not .I not sure if they do .....I've not seen any and I'm a big fan of Volkswagen.

So... 3,000 kgs for the car with all tanks filled I assume (water, diesel, etc). Then adding 2-3 British people each what..90 kgs on average? Then you have your cans of beans and other food as well as a couple of fizzy drinks and whiskey bottles to fill the fridge. Some blankets and other usual camping gear, various clothes and shoes for 2-3 people and you're getting dangerously close to the van's 3,500 kgs maximum. I hope the suspension is also adjusted for that. This van is for weekends only, it's not a fulltime vanlife van. Personally I prefer deep cherry red for the outside color, and not the shouty bright red. All in all, 52,000 GBP for a 2-year old van with the steering wheel is on the wrong side... :-p I gonna pass on this one.

Love the channel , not being a smart arse just this is a t6 not a .1. Even the startline has a mf steering wheel on the .1 and the front grill is different on the new model.
