The one cactus I really struggle with is Ming Thing. I’ve discovered that they really don’t like direct sun. I’ve had two in cactus arrangements that I keep in full sun. Both Ming Things turned an awful shade of brown and shriveled up. I’ve taken them out of the arrangements and put them in individual pots I keep in the shade. Both are slowly recovering.

Hi I really need help with my cactus plant. I don't have cactus fertilizer or vitamins at home.
I think it's a Finger lady type of cactus It was okay for a month but suddenly it turned yellow, I tried to put it in sunlight to help it a little, but the next day it turned dark green and soft on one side Too soft that the spikes move and it bleeds water when you tri to touch it with a stick.
I haven't watered it for a month so it wouldn't be a cause of overwatering but would you maybe know about it please?
I want to save the cactus before it dies. Please let me know if there's any tips I could do for it please 😥

Maybe that's a sign of root rot. Remove the cactus from its pot and check the roots. If they’re black, mushy, or smell bad, they’re rotting. Trim any damaged roots with a sterile knife or scissors. Consider repotting with fresh soil and avoid watering for about a week until the cactus settles in.

Thank you so much for this video. I just recently bought a cactus and I dug it up to put it in a different pot when I noticed a discoloration at its bottom. I panicked because it was my first plant and I thought it was already dying! I began to look it up, and I saw the similar discoloration happen in 2:17. I'm relieved to find that it's normal for a cactus to have a bit of change in it's color while aging. I'll keep a close eye on my plant to see if there are any other changes. Thanks again

I feel soooo guilty. Since they are dessert plants, I thought cactus like direct hot sun. So in one summer I put them outside.
They were really not happy and looks like having sunburn. I hope they are recovering. But their shape changed 😔. One of the little ones and shrunk. What should I do? I water them when the soil is really really dry (like once every 2 months or sometimes 3 or so).

I think I have what looks like a Periuvan Apple Cactus. It is turning brown from the top. Should I cut down to the good part of the plant? Should I then repot in cactus soil and keep it out of the sun until I see growth on it?

I have a large older Cactus that needs repoting and the bottom has turned brown from age. How do I repot it? do I leave the brown showing or repot up to where it is Green? and it is now top heavy looks like an upside down popcycle

Hi! My cactus has had light brown patches spreading throughout the past month. Originally thought it was sunburn so I moved it to a better spot but it hasn't improved and one of the areas has since cracked open and looks a bit black inside. By chance do you know what it could be?

There are many causes that make your succulents turn brown besides sunlight. You can check whether it was overwatered, its root is rot or it has fungus/pests. About the position, please put it at a spot that gets enough light (not too much/too little). When you find out the exact reason then you can save it.

I bought some cacti and succulents online and they are perfectly fine. The nursery decided to give me extra baby cacti. They're sooo tiny. The have healthy roots but they show a sign of purpleish around their stem, the look healthy as they're plump as no sign of mushiness. Can you help me with what is this purpleish thing?

Turning purple maybe a sign of stress from the environment which is possibly cold or dry. Also, it depends on what kind of cacti that you grow. Although it's normal towards a plant, it's not good. You can check and adjust your environmental conditions for better propagation ^^ Good luck 🤩
