Apart from 28 Urban Bangalore constituencies where BJP has presence, Congress n JD (S) have greater presence in other 100+ seats in South Karnataka. Vokkaligas have great say in these seats though there are other communities and few seats which are reserved. Siddaramiah is a mass leader who is viewed as messiah of OBC - a group of castes which even includes Kurubas. By the way Kurubas are 4th large group behind Lingayats, Vokkaligas n Muslims in Karnataka. In last assembly elections, large chunk of Kurubas, Muslims n Vokkaligas voted for Congress partly due to Siddaramiah by Kuruba n Muslim votes, Vokkaligas in Old Mysore belt believing DKS has a chance. Gone are days when Veerendra Patil won 178 seats because of consolidation of Vokkaliga, Lungayat, OBC, SC, ST votes. Now the benchmark is to win 3 out of 4 major vote bank chunks. DKS can be the king only if Siddaramiah cedes and there is peaceful transfer of power else Congress will be split in middle where DKS can be CM but a short lived one. Deve Gowda n family will not allow that to happen since it becomes end of road to future Nikhil or anyone else to get to power. The ceiling of JD(S) is 40 seats in Karnataka and for BJP is 90 seats. I would like to add additional info to what you have already provided. 1) DKS was in RSS before he joined and contested while in college, in the Congres's National Students Association of India (NSUI) leadership election (not sure at what level, college level, city level, state level, or national level). 2) He is supposedly the owner of a large mall (was told on the western side of Bangalore City Railway Station, not too far away) which has Lulu Hypermarket is located. Have seen the video of Gruhapravesh performed by DKS, his family, DKS's brother and his family. 3) DKS is presently in USA. Saw him speak at an upcoming new Hindu Temple being built by Swami BalGangaDharji's Mutt. 4) Saw a recent picture of him with RaGa on DKS'S left, Sam Pitroda on DKS's right, and a young lady on RaGa's left. 5) Was told that there was a Kannada Association meeting and celebration for a few days in Virginia, starting on August 30th. Was told the Karnataka government sends a delegation of its political leaders, top government and literary giants to this event.

Apart from 28 Urban Bangalore constituencies where BJP has presence, Congress n JD (S) have greater presence in other 100+ seats in South Karnataka. Vokkaligas have great say in these seats though there are other communities and few seats which are reserved. Siddaramiah is a mass leader who is viewed as messiah of OBC - a group of castes which even includes Kurubas. By the way Kurubas are 4th large group behind Lingayats, Vokkaligas n Muslims in Karnataka. In last assembly elections, large chunk of Kurubas, Muslims n Vokkaligas voted for Congress partly due to Siddaramiah by Kuruba n Muslim votes, Vokkaligas in Old Mysore belt believing DKS has a chance. Gone are days when Veerendra Patil won 178 seats because of consolidation of Vokkaliga, Lungayat, OBC, SC, ST votes. Now the benchmark is to win 3 out of 4 major vote bank chunks. DKS can be the king only if Siddaramiah cedes and there is peaceful transfer of power else Congress will be split in middle where DKS can be CM but a short lived one. Deve Gowda n family will not allow that to happen since it becomes end of road to future Nikhil or anyone else to get to power. The ceiling of JD(S) is 40 seats in Karnataka and for BJP is 90 seats. In exceptional circumstances these numbers go down partly due to power struggles. This happened in 23 election where Savadi n Shettar exits dented BJP of 20 seats and JD(S) lost 20 seats because in Vokkaliga belt there was a buzz DKS has chance. DKS is 62 now n by next election will be 65. If there is change of power in next election then by 2033 election or if ONOE is implemented he will not have a chance.

I would like to add additional info to what you have already provided.
1) DKS was in RSS before he joined and contested while in college, in the Congres's National Students Association of India (NSUI) leadership election (not sure at what level, college level, city level, state level, or national level).
2) He is supposedly the owner of a large mall (was told on the western side of Bangalore City Railway Station, not too far away) which has Lulu Hypermarket is located. Have seen the video of Gruhapravesh performed by DKS, his family, DKS's brother and his family.
3) DKS is presently in USA. Saw him speak at an upcoming new Hindu Temple being built by Swami BalGangaDharji's Mutt.
4) Saw a recent picture of him with RaGa on DKS'S left, Sam Pitroda on DKS's right, and a young lady on RaGa's left.
5) Was told that there was a Kannada Association meeting and celebration for a few days in Virginia, starting on August 30th. Was told the Karnataka government sends a delegation of its political leaders, top government and literary giants to this event.
