Bro gotta use a hi pass to remove the lows instead of just dipping. You still will get frequencies building up down there unless you completely cut them.
@@BigZBeatZ503 To be honest, a lot of it is just laziness. Other half of it is with fruity parametric especially, cutting lows seems to actually take a bit too much off the bottom end for my taste. I actually prefer to have the low-lows just barely present, but I’d never discourage you from completely removing them. I’ve just found for my taste, I get a more overall blended mix
@@TRIFREEZE I’ll have to test that out. I use parametric 2 a lot while I make beats to save cpu and then I’ll use fabfilter when I do a mix session. Hope I haven’t been killing my low end with the stock eq.
Great video! Got a question tho: If im not mistaken, the key of the melody is f# minor, but there are some notes that would be out of scale for that. For exampme the main pattern uses a c in the bass which is technically out of key. I think the c in the bass get "cancelled by halftime 1/2 bar but what is the reason to put it there then, or for not "correcting" it. It sounds fine to me, but i was just wondering if i missed something
Hmm I see, yeah so the C is out of key but it's just an accidental in that key. I think there's actually a name for that specific key but I don't know it lol. But yeah the halftime removed it so there was really no reason for its existence. It still is a great progression on it's own without halftime though, Don Toliver's producers use it a lot, I'd recommend it
