I love California!! I been there several times from Oakland to San Diego and everything in between. Hope everything goes back to normal and go to Venice for our summer holiday in 2021. Also great to know that there are Level 42 fans in the U.S. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Yes, they have many loyal fans here in the states. We all try to keep in touch and even have an annual "Level fest Jam" but couldn't do it this year due to covid.
Hi, Greetings Paris 👍, I watched a lot of your video's and love your pearl pink Jaydee, but surprised that your JayDee sound different than mine. But anyway.......you have a great channel with a various different styles! Within a couple of day's I will upload 'the Pursuit of Accidents' from Level 42. This is a very nice good old slap track! Keep up doing you Bass-thing and greetings from the Netherlands. Best Regards, John
@@Johndeleeu Thanks a lot John, very appreciated. I do not use sound card that why it doesn’t sounds very well. it's a room microphone. Very impatient for « Pursuit of accidents », Oney of my favorite tracks. 🎸✌🏼💥
@@ldgbasstv I will let you know. The last part is very difficult to do. But a very fun old school Mark King Slap track!! There are also some other great instrumental Level 42 tracks on my channel. Hope you like it!! - th-cam.com/users/Johndeleeuvideos
Thanks Ray, I did all the crazy Level 42 stuff, and didn't know what to do. This is not a typical L42 song but really like the part where Mike Lindup is singing. The Jay Dee is great and try to tweak the sound close to the original.
Ah! I haven't heard this one in soooo long. Thanks again John for the superb playing and bringing these forgotten gems to us all. BTW: did you have any effects on this track?
Good morning John. Thanks for latest post. Ditto other comments here, this is a slight departure for level 42, but a groups diversity in music makes it interesting. Well done for subtle edit with just single end verse 😉. As usual nice to see the mechanics of how this is played. Interesting fact, this track appeared on cassette version of Running in the Family but not the vinyl. Glad you liked the Camel track, not everyone's cup of tea, but like this track, nice to see bands try something a little different. Stay safe, I know weather has been difficult where you are. Ps. How difficult is the varied bass line on coup d'etat?
Hi Fred, nice to hear from you. The Bass Line of coup d'etat is not that difficult, but to get the deep Mark King groove is always hard to do. This is not my best track. You really have to practice to play Heathrow, Lessons in love and Eyes Water Falling the whole song. To play all notes of 'there is a dog' on that speed finger style is a whole different thing to do.Slapping and finger style on high speed is all combined in Foundation & Empire.
Awesome. Anyone who play Mark King on Bass is like playing Santana. Great job!
Great sound and a beautiful Jaydee too.
Don't think I've ever heard anyone cover this one, thanks for posting. Greetings from California 😎🌴
It’s on my channel too ☺️

Hi Miles, I used the JayDee in pasive mode, and used both Pick-Up's. I added a litle bit of stereo chorus from the mix desk.
👍

Great cover, you should of used your Status for this one 😏
Hi Marcus, Yes the Status was probably better for the job, But I think (not sure) that this was played on a JayDee?
@@Johndeleeu Status on this track 100% 👍🏼
Just listen to the track, and you are 100% right. This is a Status. Also listen to "Lasso the moon". This is also a great bassline.
@@Johndeleeu yeah, great track! Wal midi on that one
