My all time favourite Amol Palekar and this combo with Utpal Dutt was magical.
This movie is a proof that you don't need a big budget to make a good movie. If the story is good, and the team works well, a great project can be delivered. What a classic! 👍

Of course, Utpal Dutta was a great actor but, his acting blossomed more in the direction of Hrishikesh Mukherjee (also a great director).
Balraj Sahni, Sanjeev Kumar, Utpal Dutt, Amol Palekar, Smita Patil, Farukh Sheikh, Vidya Sinha, Om Prakash, David, Deven Verma....these are from a totally different genre n class.
Alas, none of them are there now.
Awaiting for someone coming up with such beautifully scripted movies, which a decent family can enjoy sitting all together.
But seems a pipe dream.
Bimal Roy, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Basu Chatterjee, Shyam Benegal...they have all gone.
In today's time there are good films, according to me, and good directors too.
