PS - My vocal chain is the JZ V67 microphone going into the Command Save Audio: Juicebox mic preamplifier (alpha rev2). Never heard of the Juicebox? That's because it's a preamp that I am developing!
I just got some mixing headphones and used them to hear the dif u r showing in the clipper...I heard dogs barking in the background, I guess the phones r working well 🤣 I love gold clip, one of the best pickups I made of recent...thanks for the informative content!!!
Been a bit since I did a demo of KClip or Schwabe, but I believe the latter does a fair bit of soft clipping. I also think KClip may have a setting sort of similar. I personally prefer StandardClip. As long as your clipper can do soft and hard clipping, I suspect you can achieve something similar. That said, some people like the tone of this one a lot, which may make it worth the cost for those who love the sound of it.
I just discovered after a while that my compressors on my mix weren't going to close the gap and get things any punchier, so I tried soft clipping. It was huge, everything sounds 5x harder and it's actually quieter. Amazing tool in the toolkit.
I found out that using an automatic LUFS volume balancer after a clipper, if you are using something like K-Clip that lets you turn up the input while turning down the output by the same amount, you can push the input on the clipper until the LUFS balancer starts to work, then roll it back til right where the LUFS balancer is just barely sitting at + or -0, you get the point of clipping where it's just starting to become audible but not cutting in to the 'meat' of the sound. It's a nice way to find close to 'just right' when clipping individual elements

Alpha rev 2 you say? OmergodLOL
I love what it's adding to the v67 mic and your voice...
@@AutoclaveBeats it's a really good combo. The V67 is very heavy, the Juicebox gives it a little pop in the treble.

LOL - probably my Daisy in the yard.
Do you think the cost is worth it over Kazrog's KClip 3?
I've never used KClip - but I reckon the answer is demo and decide.

compression reduces dynamic energy. clipping turns dynamic energy into harmonic energy. Often a better choice.

I just switched my PC on and here this was!
I mean it was posted seconds ago! LOL
Using clipping to get impact but not volume is so cool.
Super nice and phat
often how I am described
@WeissAdvice hahahaha spot on
Far too expensive for what it is
Its worth it not having a clipper and limiter on subscription IMO. I did rent to own, 25 a month. Pretty good deal imo
