Justice League is a 2017 American superhero film based on the DC Comics superhero team of the same name, consisting of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg. Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, the film is the fifth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Zack Snyder with a screenplay by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon, from a story by Terrio and Snyder. It features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen and J. K. Simmons. In Justice League, the superhero team forms to honor Superman following his death and to save the planet from the catastrophic threat of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons.
The film was announced in October 2014 with Snyder on board to direct and Terrio attached to write the script. Initially announced as Justice League Part One, with a second part to follow in 2019, the second film was indefinitely delayed to accommodate a standalone Batman film with Affleck. Principal photography commenced in April 2016 and ended in October 2016. Snyder then hired Joss Whedon to write scenes that would be filmed during reshoots; however, Snyder left the project in May 2017 following the death of his daughter.
Whedon was hired to oversee the remainder of post-production, including directing additional scenes written by himself. Snyder received sole director credit for the film, with Whedon receiving a screenplay credit in post. With an estimated production budget of $300 million, it is one of the most expensive films ever made. Justice League premiered in Beijing on October 26, 2017, and was released in the United States in 2D, 3D and IMAX on November 17, 2017.

I couldn't disagree more. Zack Snyder had something original but still stayed true to the character. It was suppose to be a progression to get to the superman everyone knows and loves. It's a journey. I personally love Snyder films. Beautiful director

Superman wrecking shop and FINALLY letting Batman know what's REALLY good made my millennium!! Debate is over. My hubby came correct. And him peepin Flash was epic. Barry was totally caught off guard. Lol!! CGI was the only issue I had with the film. My mom knows nothing about comic books and she loved it BTW. LOVED it!! Lol!!

I thought the film was average. The plot was horrible and some of the cgi was weird.
But, I did love the characters in this movie. I loved superman finally! He actually smiles and shows some emotion in this and we only got him for like 15 minutes. And seeing the team at the end working together was just amazing.
I just wish we could have gotten more of the team. I hate that we had to spend the majority of this trying to establish the other members and their origins and we only got the team at the end for so short a time. This is why I wish we could have gotten a Justice League film with the team already established.

They cut most of cyborg extra scenes like when he saved the cop and said "you should problem move " or the part when he said "I heard about you I didn't think you were real" to Batman or him just walking down the ally with his jacket before he was cyborg or the clip of him playing football in the trailer 💯

I can remember watching the orignal Star Wars Trilogy as a kid but because I was so young my brain didn't completely kick on till Return of the Jedi. I had to go back and watch the other movies and those movies aren't exactly complicated.

They cut the entire fight for the 3rd firebox, you know this since it seemed weirdly cut on how he came down so fast and got it and you know there was a few scenes with cyborg saved 2 cops
I have a theory about the flashes origins.Maybe he broke into star labs or some kinda forensic lab trying to find something that would help him prove that his father didnt kill his mother while doing that he got struck by lightning and the chemicals that were there helped him get his powers.

A director with a passion to tell the story, a good set of writers, a 2 hour 30 min run time will make JL 2 amazing.

First we were with Batman, then Wonder Woman, the Cyborg, the Flash, then Themyscira and before Themyscira there was a Cyborg scene and I was shocked when they went Themyscira and I still thought Cyborg was gonna say something, I didn't know that the scene was over lol. Then to Batman and Wonder Woman going recruiting Flash and Cyborg, then all of sudden they were all on a rooftop together? When and how did that happen? It felt inconsistent and too fast. But tbh that's because the movie was forced to be 2 hours and that's why the pacing was off.

I originally gave Justice League a B+ after seeing it on Friday. I’ve had a few days to think about what I missed. The inconsistencies are heavily throughout this film. From Bruce not being sure who Arthur and Barry are and what their powers are despite the footage he saw in BvS. From Wonder Woman Being underpowered, on the ground, crawling backwards, and depending heavily on her sword when she can just use her hands. From Flash stating how scared he was of everything but Parademons weren’t swarming after him like they did Steppenwolf. And from Steppenwolf going against Zeus, Ares, more old gods, 2 Lanterns, Hordes of Atlanteans, the King of Atlantis, Hordes of Amazonians, and Hippolita, and doesn’t get killed? Zeus could bitch slap him once and it’d be a wrap but I’ll stick to the film. Steppenwolf lost to the league because Supes beat him around and he got cut by Diana’s sword in the stomach and got scared. You weren’t scared of THEM 5,000 years ago?! I could name more inconsistencies but here’s he point. Characterization and story were horrendous as a whole, so I’ll give this film a B-. Hopefully, Warner Bros. will get their act together.

Ben Afflack knew he was old and out of shape when he pushed his way into the role of Batman.
The Flash using the Pet Cemetery refrence was funny. Superman finally using his ice breath was tight. Also, that hologram scene when Bruce was talking/looking at Supergirl? Gone! WTF
and that scene with Alfred talking to the mysterious person? I believe it was superman coming to get his suit cause remember, he shows up at the final battle dressed in his suit with no explanation on how he got it again. Just my opinion.
p.s. I think Geoff johns had a hand in the new way Superman was portrayed.
TheKode is very nitpicky over the smallest things lol but i agree with most things Jody said, but as for how flash got powers, when cyborg asked flash if he got hit with a lightning bolt and flash did say " something like that". and the autism thing i disagree, he clearly explains, "people are slow" meaning he processes things WAY to fast as opposed to normal people so he cant really socially interact, and I'm pretty sure most of us don't know where East and West is at all times. he never said he doesn't like people he said HE FINDS IT DIFFICULT TO INTERACT WITH THEM, meaning he tries but struggles. Good review tho i just wanted to point out a few things i disagreed with :P
That Flash scene when the league was fighting Supes was epic, Ezra's reaction was epic, the whole theater was laughing.
Quicksilver in Xmen movie had a cooler introduction. He felt more like the Flash.
Just saw it today and I'm not mad at it. I had some problems with the story, but it was fine. There was some disjointedness between the styles of Whedon and Snyder, but it wasn't as bad as I feared it would be. I found the humor to be pretty forced in some places and pretty effective in others. The cg was not good, I was most worried about Cyborg (he looked terrible in the trailers) but he actually looked pretty good. The cg that bothered me the most was when the Amazons were fighting, the horses were atrocious. I didn't enjoy Batfleck as much as I wanted to, I really liked him in BvS and feel like he didn't really want to be doing this movie. Loved Gal Gadot (again), she kills it as WW. I'm not very familiar with Flash so I was fine with how they played him, he was quite likable. Liked Cyborg, not real familiar with him either but he had good character development. I've always had a soft spot for Aquaman and I loves me some Khal Drogo so that all worked out nicely, I do think they made him too weak, he's got his movie coming so hopefully they'll show what a badass he is.
All of the above gets it a C. I had a good time and I would say go see it to anyone on the fence. Superman gets an A+! FINALLY after all this time we actually got SUPERMAN! I know people complain that he's too powerful, but that's what I love about him and they showed it here. Please let there be a Man of Steel 2 with THIS Supes. He was amazing!
My fear is that with the low Rotten Tomatoes score and the appallingly low box office this franchise is doomed. Affleck clearly wants out and WB can't seem to get their shit together. I hope they go ahead with the Aquaman movie, WW2 and Man of Steel 2(it would be so disappointing to only get 20ish minutes of Henry Cavill getting to really be Superman out of all this) and don't let Snyder anywhere near the script/story or Superman (he clearly hates him). This wasn't a great movie but it was such an improvement over BvS and that's what I was looking for. They can do this. They've got such a huge investment and it's not too late to turn this around. I hope DC doesn't give up and reboot.

Jody , just a heads up on Steppingwolf mention about “mother”. In the *DELETED* scenes of JL, Steppingwolf actually referring to Heggra - Darkseid”s mother , that through unifying the Motherboxes Can he bring Heggra into our World
Nah he would of eventually turned back into good Superman no matter what because in BVS when Flash contacts Bruce through the speed force he says “Louis Lane is the Answer” so I think either way Bruce would have called Louis to snap Superman out of it.
This movie explains so much about how the DCEU felt like the New52.
Steppenwolf (being a New God) left a mark on Earth and the darkness that
he left behind infected the world from then on.
I think THAT'S the real reason why Ares turned on Olympus and Mankind.
That darkness eventually awoke Enchantress and she knew that because of
what the world was, that it was the right time for her to build her
machine to force mankind to worship her.
The darkness pushed Diana away from the world.
This new darker world, affected Superman and made it harder for him to
be the light that his father wanted him to be.
Speaking of, could that be the reason why Jor-El picked Earth? It was a
darkened world that desperately needed saving.
Superman dies, and the world gets EVEN DARKER.
It hits that fever pitch and Steppenwolf returns.
About Steppenwolf:
I watched it a second time, and I noticed that in the flashback we see
the Mother Boxes guided by these creepy, culty guys in black robes
chanting for the Unity.
In the movie, Steppenwolf is gathering the Boxes with only a squad of
Parademons and NOTHING ELSE. He's doing it WRONG. Who says the Boxes
are even talking to him? Of if, he shouldn't be talking to it without
the creepy culty guys AT ALL?
In the flashback, Diana says Steppenwolf might have gone mad because he
was beaten so badly. If he's just plain crazy, it would explain why he
keeps talking to the Boxes as if he were called.
Also, he's in exile because of his failure. He's overcompensating to
get back in Darkseid's good graces. He KNOWS he sucks, but doesn't want
to admit it.
I've heard a lot of critics talk about Superman here as if he's a brand
new character and the previous films didn't happen and I disagree.
Compare the world of MOS vs the world of JL.
In MOS, Superman was alone, he had no real idea how to be Superman.
Doing what he can when he can despite the fact that EVERY SINGLE THING
HE DID WAS ANALYZED AND BRUTALIZED BY THE WORLD AROUND HIM.
In the Day Of The Dead scene when he's handing the little girl over to
her mother, look at Clark's face. The man is GRINNING because he's
doing exactly what he's supposed to do.
He's Being Superman. Then, his smile fades when after he hands the girl
over, the crowd surrounds him trying to touch him (just like a scene
from the Alex Ross oversized book "Peace On Earth") as if he's Divine.
His good deeds get darkened or tarnished by this world and it weighs on
him.
Also, as far as he knows, he's alone. There ARE no other superheroes
around, so he's taking all the hits by himself. All the criticism, all
the doubt, all the anger and rebuke are aimed right at Superman.
Also, for some reason, they didn't give him any villains between Zod and
Doomsday in BvS. No sci-fi bank robbers or 5th Dimensional imps to
practice on.
Now, look at Justice League. He returns to a world that is full of
other heroes with powers. He Is Not Alone, to quote Zod. He's not
worried about having to be EVERYONE'S
hero anymore. Yeah, the world is at stake, but he's helping OTHERS save
the world.
And the threat is clear. No ambiguity, no moral compromise, no
philosophical debate here. He has no role whatsoever in Steppenwolf.
He's not a relic from Krypton, or a
manifestation of just how much some humans hate him. Nope, he's just
some alien d-bag who wants to destroy the Earth. The end. So, it makes
sense then that Superman can almost look smug when dodging those big
CGI fists of his and punches him into the cinematic universe next door.
I have a lot of reasons why I like the Snyderverse and how it'll affect
the DCEU as a whole. One of which is getting the darkness out of the
way.
There's not going to be a Justice League: Civil War anytime soon. This
Batman will never raise a hand against this Superman again. This Wonder
Woman will never even be tempted to turn a blind eye to ANY thing bad
on Earth.
When some future Superman rogue tries to give Clark the whole, "You
don't know pain/darkness/tragedy/grimdark/etc." routine, Superman can
easily say, "I DO know how bad it can get. I've seen it. I was
fighting to save people while getting hit by the military. I've been
used as a scapegoat for every awful thing you can imagine. I still
chose to fight
for those who can't fight for themselves."
If anyone tries to get Batffleck paranoid about aliens or other heroes,
he can say, "I've seen good men with abilities who are ready to lay
their lives down for people who don't deserve their trust. I trust them
with my life." punch!
Wonder Woman can't get tempted with another take on Ares' offer of
mankind not being worth it and yadda yadda yadda.
Think of it as a mood trilogy in reverse. It's Return Of The Jedi,
Empire Strikes Back and THEN A New Hope.
These characters have EARNED a brighter universe because they passed
through the fire.
Oh, and because they've been through the fire and flames, they can
inspire others like Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg to be real heroes.
Hi Jody, Micah his wife our niece including myself all saw Justice League tonight. We all enjoyed the film. Even with it problems, it's much better than Thor Ragnarok. I'm looking forward in seeing Justice League again. I give it a B+.

I just finished watching this movie and I liked it a lot. The character moments were awesome, but watching this review makes me like it even more. I do agree with most of you guys negatives, but even with that, once y'all get into the positives it takes it to another level. Great job and thanks for this.
I mean... this is random as hell, but I love the way Jody pronounces Gal's name! My issue with the movie is how choppy it was, the CGI was painful and Steppenwolf was hella irritating to look at! He looked like he was Copy/Pasted from a video game! Other than the occasional eye rolls and trying to get past Flash's weird ass running style, I enjoyed this movie and I'm going to see it again soon.

Remember that Warner Brothers mandated a 2-hour maximum movie. This is probably why several of the scenes from the Comic-con 2017 trailer where not in the movie. I think Joss Whedon took out some of the serious tone of the movie, especially with Cyborg's character. If Joss could have had at least 20 extra minutes of runtime, the movie might have been better. Steppenwolf lacked a compelling story for being a villain and there was a lack of history of caring for the human race by the heroes (except for Wonder Woman), the kind of thing that compels you to care about them. The world never felt like it was in imminent danger. Batman beat Superman in BvS but couldn't handle Steppenwolf with a team who were almost always on the same page. That was bad.

That flashback scene when Wonder Woman was talking was TIGHT! Gods, Amazons, Atlantians, THE GREEK GODS, and the cum shot THE GREEN LANTERNS! One of my favorite scenes in he film. But why did the Green Lanterns not come back? Hmmm. I need that movie.

I almost can't be mad at the speed thing. For some reason her superspeed is like Superman's superhearing: people tend to forget she has it or they diminish it.
Bet this movie is looking better and better after that "Last Jedi" Disney Wars crapp.
My thing is.... They could've gone with Granny Goodness and Female Furies.. maybe even toss in Kanto as the villains. Have them steal Superman's body... bring it to Apokolips. In Part 2.... The league would have to use the only mother box left to transport to Apokolips to rescue Clark.... here they find a Martian Prisoner, who has been telepathically reaching out to Wonder Woman. He joins the team to help find Superman... who is being probed by Darkseid. Superman' DNA has the Growth Codex... which is the missing variable in Darkseid' Anti-Life Equation.
I was expecting the "I'll take it as a 'yes'." line heard in the trailer (about Lois' ring) was there, but was a little disappointed that it wasn't. And I agree, I wished the scene of Clark's reunion with his mother had been a little longer.
Completely off-topic: Does your T-Shirt say "Supperman"? Or does it look like that only because it's unbuttoned?
"Do you bleed?" sounds like a Snyder line, but it was too good to lose (along with, "You won't let me live. Yiu wont let me die.") I think at that point, Superman didnt remember fighting Doomsday alongside Batman and Einder Woman. He didn't even remember Batman going off to save his mother. Superman remembered Batman trying ti kill him and his dying. He wss confused and pissed off.
If Snyder had his two Justice League movies, he would have had Batman trying to use Kryptonite to control a raging Suoerman (the failure of which would have led to Superman being darker and going black suit evil and necessitating Flash going back in time to warn Batman to use Lois to control Superman instead of Kryptonite after they bring him back to life.)
That Flash scene in BvS was for setting up Flashpoint
When he opened up his chest to show the Superman logo , loved it . Thats was the Superman shit I remember
My biggest negative with the film was the fact that Superman didn't need the league (save for Cyborg with the boxes, and reviving him). Supes beat ALL of the league effortlessly.
But I liked the film overall
Superman getting a new suit is an example of Joss not spoonfeeding the audience. Ask yourself this: Where did he get the original suit? The scout ship. It hsd capabilities to make clothing (for the intended Kryptian explorers.) Superman flew from Smallville to the crashed ship in Metropolis (whicb was repairing itself again) and had it make him a new suit...but a little brighter to match his new outlook at life.
I just thought about this, but wasn't Batman gonna make a new suit for Barry? I guess that got cut out.

About Cyborg: I love that Cyborg body is evolving just like in justice league: war animated movie. Look the end scene of Cyborg, the body parts started to be more solid steel.
I recently saw the movie & came here to hear their critique (my friends don't appreciate Superman like Jody & I do. No tears here though). The movie is a C+ for me. I think Joss would've done a better job, if he was on the film from jump. He brought the Avengers from being C-listers to top tier characters. Joss would have a lot more to work with, given the JL's iconic status & extensive lure. The character interactions were the best part to me.

You'd think after the positive reception of the BvS Ultimate Edition that WB would have learned their lesson. Instead, they went backwards. Instead of taking out a half an hour, they went all out and took a whole hour out. I'm kind of amazed that the movie was as consistent as it was. Think of this movie as a human body made by Zack Snyder. WB cut out the guts, chopped off an arm and both legs. Then they brought Whedon in the stitch it up. They done goofed for money and look how it turned out.
If JL came in at under 100mil domestically, realistically what can we expect for Aquaman solo film? Will anybody be more excited for Aquaman?

With this review, I am partially convinced ( because I didn't see the original cut myself too...haha obviously) that you would've had some annoying things, because you are a superman fan, but you would've liked it better than BVS.
Side note: I used to be a fan of doctor who(if you don't know that's ok), like serious fan, and then when he was changed to a different man(he can regenerate and change), I hated him, he became this less caring, very rude, angry old man who was once a young optimistic, laughing and jolly alien I used to love. Now when I look back and see the whole character arc of how he was trying to figure out who he is and what he should do…I loved him even more, it took time but for me that was the most awesome character development for The Doctor.
So that point of view I can tell you are very sceptic (almost hate) of this superman because he's still trying to figure out who he is and what he should do, and in the process he is making some choices that are bad. But he will learn from this and will not do it when he can actually stand up and represent the hope he's wearing on his chest. And believe me he figured it out, he said "this is my world, you are my world", but irony is as soon as he figured it out he had to die. When he will be back, he will be the superman you love, and are waiting for. In that hope alone I would want to see what really is the true vision of Snyder.

About Flash: I think there’s interview with Ezra explaining his character, which has a problem in interacting with people, and the movie deliberately made Flash the youngest member.
Missed opportunity in not having the Eradicator. Maybe they will use the character in a movie with Brainiac.
JL was an ok movie, which sucks because it’s JL.

What if. Reverse flash throws a lightning bolt on Barry Allen to make him flash so that dr zoom is created in the future. They can fix his origin by introducing reverse flash. Like a loop. Flash exists because of flash and vice versa.

Best part of the movie was superman vs justice league fight. Wonder woman vs superman and most epic superman looking at the flash out of the corner of his eye.
